COMICS! |OT| August 2016. That's Rare Groove. Volume is Crucial.

Holy shit, Astro City #14/15 is so good. About an older woman who runs goes around and collects scraps of robots destroyed in superhero/villain battles and creates a small museum surviving on donations. Of course, like any Astro City story, it goes deeper. I think this might join my favourite Astro City arcs.

Astro City #16 was pretty decent too, though I was afraid initially
it was heading towards the stupid evil transgender trope

I had also completely forgotten that weird molecule man type character from the 'Through Open Doors' volume. Wonder where it's going.

Not going to lie, I absolutely loved that batman superman movie. Really fun stuff. I honestly think DC need to forget about trying to change the tone of their movies etc and just do what they feel like they want to do. I'd rather watch movie that is divisive but has a vision than one with no vision of its own. Don't know how often I'll rewatching due to the length but happy with the purchase.
 
The greatest thing about issue 2 of Snotgirl is that Lottie just did something really bad and she's very concerned about it, but first she needs to lay low and have her coffee and check her social media.

I said damn! That's epic man, not just a ton of comics but some great books up there. Very jealous of those the goon collections, that's one of the major things I've still never got around to starting, and I'd reaaally like to invest in them at some point. That's BPRD 1940s omnibus has a great cover too. Fantastic man, doing gods work right there.

Damn the back beetle too. Fantastic.

Thanks! The Goon is amazing, and Dark Horse has the best value in the business. That massive >400 page library edition barely costs any more than a 250 page Marvel OHC that's smaller, thinner, and has lesser build materials.


Oh, and The Black Beetle. WHAT A BOOK.

Brilliant. I miss the feeling of getting into comics and there being tons of full runs I wanted to grab. Not a lot of those left but the goon is one of em. Really great, I need to look into those! First natural question that comes to.mind btw: Seeing yout big BPRD book have you read BPRD vampire? It's a direct follow up to the 1940s series, and it was fucking radical. The art is way out there.

I really like your OZ collection too. Looking at other people's collections is like porn for me man.

I bought 1-18 of COPRA and the last three issues of Rachel Rising.

If i don't like COPRA i will never forgive comics-gaf, especially because i was close to buying Sunstone vol 4 instead. What would Messi think? I'm glad he's not alive to see this.

This is the only BPRD book I've read. I still need to get Plague of Frogs and the other stuff at some point.

Am I correct in thinking that JL(I) part of the Blue Beetle sale is frustratingly not the whole of that (IIRC) well liked run, but instead just the part that Blue Beetle is in? That's... annoying/lame if so. I'd be interested in grabbing that run, but I have no interest in "here's part of that run arbitrarily chopped up based on the presence or absence of one of the characters!"

Haha have you seen that the cw is making room for a lost boys series as well? My girlfriend is nuts for it man, the two coreys, sexy kief, she gives it all that to me whe its on. I only really remember the the part when he's eating the noodles or some shit and they're all spooking around him giving it michael it's only noodles michael. Michael. Hahaha.
