Game is great and runs beautifully in 60 fps. Trying to debate on when to do the grinding. Kinda wanna beat it first, but might be most efficient to get it now, before I burn myself out.

I wouldn't call Dead Rising Wii that different of a game.

It was probably the second most faithful cross-gen game of the 6th to 7th transition - First place being Hitman Blood Money which was a dirty cheater since the PS2 version was the base-platform instead of the X360.

EDIT: Ah shit I remembered that Dead Rising technically wasn't Cross-Gen since the Wii was officially on paper a 7th Gen console.

My point still stands.
 
Dead Rising was a significant game for me because it made me buy an HD TV after I couldn't read the text on my old tube TV.

I never did beat the 360 version, but playing this at 1440p/144hz is a godsend. It's around this time of year that I start to play "spooky"/zombie games, so the timing couldn't be more perfect.

I mean not really. You could always pause the game and go do something else while leaving the console running. It only makes it easier in the sense that now you don't have to worry about rrod'ing your 360 anymore.
 
Best game for me is easily dr1, I hate timers in games and still love Dr, it's just that good

I hope sales reflect this so we can get another Dr that mimmics the level design and gameplay


Haven't played it in many years and maybe I know when I play but what is stacking?

Is there a certain level point that makes the game too easy.

What's the max health county?
 
Dead Rising 2 and OTR are still completely unplayable on my PS4. Game never gets past the initial startup. Fucking ridiculous, I even re-downloaded both and nothing has changed.

that's a game mechanic. when you hit a zombie there's a slight pause like a hit confirm, if you have a large object and hit a bunch of zombies in succession it will pause for each one

No it wasn't, I'm talking about the specific issue highlighted in the DF video about the performance on PS4.

And the screen tearing in gone!!! It was so bad on 360.

God I love this game. It's such a bizarre mix of wacky goofiness but with an actual decent storyline and at heart a more serious survival sim than the majority of these survival crafting trash games that are all the rage these days.
And despite some low res textures it's still a good looking game 10 years later. 4K 60fps Jessie <3

I was able to save the game at a restroom, my guess is the save bench was bugged at the time I tried to use it and will hopefully work the next time I try to use it.

Ive had the same problem, have you tried disconnecting your PS4 from the Internet. Its the only way ive got mine to work.

Its not ideal but hopefully it gets patched
 
It's been so long since I played but replaying it now and man this game is just so different to the sequels. 2 isn't too far off but 1 has such it's own feel of gradual power gain and vulnerability. Especially with how you unlock the shortcuts and stuff. Most of the gameplay here is dodging around zombies while leading people to safety, rather than rushing to the overpowered combo weapons and dynasty warrioring hordes of zombies.
 
Dead Rising 2 on Xbox One seems really choppy for me... like, sometimes it's at 60 FPS, but it often looks like there's a slight stutter when moving the camera around. It's really hard to look at and really putting me off on playing it. And the cutscenes don't ever seem to reach 60 FPS.

It just shows how ugly of a game Dead Rising 2 is compared to 1.

I hope they can fix these performance issues, unless I'm the only one experiencing them...
 
How can they release a game that doesn't even work? (Dead Rising 2)

I got this game just so I could play co-op and I can't even do that. Hopefully Sony gives me a refund, so I can get Dead Rising 1 instead.

Wait...

DR2:OTR isn't working on PS4?! I just downloaded a copy on mine and the wife's PS4's over the night with the sole purpose of co-op play this weekend. Say it aint so! :/
 
Seen a few people mention save slots like they didn't exist in the original - pretty sure I used multiple save slots to get all the different ending back in the day.
 
This game still manages to occasionally look pretty impressive. The amount of zombos on screen coupled with good IQ + framerate is not something you often see, even on current hardware.

Probably one of the best additions to Dead Rising 2 where they show you when they'll be following you through areas. Maybe add that icon as well so you know when you can switch areas safely.

Just some pure QOL mods.

grab at least one of the SMGs (preferably 2) from around the mall, then move outside the store, leave one of the doors closed, and take shots at him while he drinks. It'll be harder for him to shoot you if one of the doors is closed

Make sure you have a queen as well to kill the crowd of zombies outside the shop. I tried this last night on my first run and I only had one SMG and a shotgun I got from a dead survivor during the opening segment. I ran out of SMG ammo and had to hide behind a kiosk while killing him with the shotgun. I survived with one block of health.

There is also at least one cop zombie in the hallway leading to the shop that may also drop a gun.

There should be a large shelf with boxes on it in the security room right next to the stairs that lead to the helipad. It will return Franks original outfit.

They have it. For some reason its not on the site. The crazy thing I found it in the 19.99 gaming bin at my store. Found about three copies each for X1/PS.

there's a box under the staircase to the helipad that restores your original appearance
