If you find a fix for this be sure to post it into the thread (I looked and couldn't find anything). I'll try playing to the point where you can save at a restroom later and see if that fixes it.

So far I've done the following and haven't had a corrupted save since:
Run it as an administrator
Change to the 2nd save slot.

Given that saving is a bit of a rarity, it might rear its ugly head again.

Because in some games you can mess around? Just close the game and put it in restmode.

@Salty Hippo. Do you have the SMG? Just climb up on the boxes and onto the path where he is walking. Then just shoot him! Make sure you have some orange juice on you as well.

You can change to "Arcade" controls to aim with right stick.

haha, this is particularly hilarious for Dead Rising since if you stay in the saferoom too long you glitch the game, the story quests will never start, and you'll have 3 days of non-story free roam in the mall. which is nice, though.

Guns are really only useful at the very end of the game. For basically everything else just use melee weapons, as the devs wanted you to. It's specifically why the shooting is downplayed via the controls. They wanted you to scrounge your environment and bash zeds/people with whatever you could come up with.

Dead Rising 2 does not work in co-op. The game doesn't even load if you're connected to the internet.

Now my PS4 is estimating 3+ hours for the remaining 3GB. After failing to download 300MB of the system update last night, stopping me from playing. I will never to get to replay this damn game.

Well it seems you can play co-op on Dead Rising 2. When you start up the game it will crash on the capcom splash screen, if you leave it for about 8 minutes it will finally get to the main menu and you can then choose online. Hopefully they patch this soon but at least I can play it now.

I got this game just so I could play co-op and I can't even do that. Hopefully Sony gives me a refund, so I can get Dead Rising 1 instead.

Dead Rising 2 and OTR are still completely unplayable on my PS4. Game never gets past the initial startup. Fucking ridiculous, I even re-downloaded both and nothing has changed.

Are Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2:OTR working for you guys on ps4 ?

I can't even get to the main menu it just hangs forever at capcom intro.

DR2 and Off The Record won't even start on my PS4. Tried reinstalling, but no dice. Just freezes once the Capcom logo appears. DR1 works like a charm. Anyone else encounter this?

Capcom and Qloc are historically very good on patching any latent issues, of course the certification period could delay that for consoles.

the game auto-targets if you fire without aiming. Make sure you don't hold the button down if you're using an automatic weapon, though

Its just like it was in the original.. Soo not great, but usable. I was able to snipe two psycho's.

Guns arent great in this game though and I would mostly advise against using them.

you can change the aim camera from left stick to right stick. If you're playing on PC, you can also remap the controls entirely and swap the triggers used for aiming the camera and aiming a weapon.

Overtime mode consists of fetch quests made infinitely more tedious due to the stipulations, and once all that is said and done, you have to go out and farm 10 queens, I mean seriously.. a couple hundred kills only got me 3, and there's a timer on it to boot, not to mention being limited by how much you can explore. Might just call it quits here like I did with the Seperate Ways story in the Resident Evil 4 port/remaster as the game has begun overstaying its welcome for me.

I remember DR2 fixed this, and I'm not really worried about doing everything on my first playthrough at all, but man the AI for some of the NPCs is just awful, and it's frustrating to have to go two steps at a time to make sure the path is clear.

They have it. For some reason its not on the site. The crazy thing I found it in the 19.99 gaming bin at my store. Found about three copies each for X1/PS.

Nah, he's not nearly the glutton for punishment as Ash is. Frank has a cool design, but there's really not much to him: he's a photojournalist looking for a story, and then he gets it. The end.

Chuck is a far better protagonist from a characterization standpoint, and he has better one-liners, too.

I switched the camera and aim buttons, so I can aim with L2. Didn't have a problem at all with the first boss. Just run to the section that's indicated in the cutscene, and shoot away at the guy as he's running around. Brad keeps him distracted in the meantime. I got shot maybe once or twice in total. The shooting controls are ass, but nowhere near as unusable as they're made out to be.

Before getting the mini chainsaw, the swords in the blade shop in the North Plaza do a good job early on. Also the shotguns in the hunting shack (though you need to beat a boss to get them).

I like Frank because he's a genuine everyman character. He's not entirely selfless, and he generally comes across as incredibly cheesy, which fits the game perfectly.

Here's a trick - if you combine two orange juice cartons in a blender, you'll get nectar which you can use to make queens appear more.

I definitely agree that Dead Rising kind of ends on a down note though. Weakest aspect of the game by a large margin.

People wanna do everything in one go, fuck any games that don't adhere to the same design philosophy that absolutely everything else does. It reminds me of the Way of the Samurai series, where it's impossible to get the absolute best ending and see everything on your first go, and you're meant to replay the game with carried-over skills to see more of the game and get a different ending.

queen zombies tend to spawn in the same areas if memory serves
