Final Fantasy XV TGS 2016 Trailer

Er yes I can, actually from trailer etc, Noctis seems like the one with weaker personality, his good trait is that he's kind and caring, but he's also depicted as lazy, whiny about his dad, not sure what to do, even gladiolus got sick oh noctis from this trailer.

On the other hand, while Luna cant fight at all in kingsglaive, she's shown to be more stronger personality, she didn't whine at all, she's prepared to
use the ring potentially killing herself, and she's cunning enough to trick that 1 kingsglaive to put the ring and killed himself
,I fully expect that when noctis and luna meet, Luna will be the one telling Noctis what to do, even when they're kids, Luna is the one teaching Noctis and telling him stuff.
Noctis showing character flaws doesn't help your argument. A good character has flaws, Luna show far hasn't even shown much of a personality let alone showing human flaws. You cold literally make her an android based on the footage we've seen of her and it wouldn't make much difference. That's the issue coupled with the constant damsel in distress tropes and incredibly transparent attempts at making a strong female character who's only purpose is to further the plot of a male character.

Really hope moments like this happen spontaneously in my playthrough.

This is so good. Everything falls into place at that one moment while playing the game. Probably my favourite bit showed off across the 10 years.

So... if a woman gets slapped, or isn't physically strong... that makes her weak? It's a little sad how so many people in this thread seem to think that the only way for a woman to be considered strong is if she's out there swinging around a sword and kicking butt or something.

Also, I've seen many people talk about how Luna appears to just be another "Yuna" character. Well, even if that's the case, it's not like female characters that go around kicking butt are exactly unique either. They're a dime a dozen nowadays. There's been plenty of female characters in the FF franchise that fit this type.

Either way, I'll reserve judgement on Luna's character until I actually see what she does and says in the game. One quick scene in a trailer isn't enough to make me immediately write her off as a "weak" character.

A character does not need to be powerful to be a strong character. I just want Luna to be a prominent character, whose endeavours and relationships have meaningful effects in the story but it really doesn't seem like thats happening.

Did you play Duscae ? It happened quite frequently there.

Nomura-Lightning-Forgotten.jpg

Lord Nomura said it, so it shall be!

Little do we know, but Toriyama was standing over Nomura, holding him at gunpoint as he drew this piece of art.

Nomura: "Finished! Can I go...."

Toriyama: "Not finished. A glorious rose such as Lightning must not be forgotten. Write it so EVERYONE will know!"

Nomura: "O-okay...."

That may be true seeing how Rinoa is Nomura waifu.

Here's a thing, based on everything they've shown us, can you possibly see her ever getting into conflict or disagreeing with Noctis on anything? That's the difference, we've seen the guys get conflicted multiple times but she seems borderline obsessed with the dude.
If he doesn't want to live up to her expectations of him or fulfill whatever duty she sees him as having, or he pulls his "I'm too sleepy, nyan ;3" attitude, I could see them having some conflict. We'll have to wait and see how they pull off the story and characters in game, though. Context and execution matters more than trailer snippets
or alleged leaked plot points.

By now I think there might just be footage of different versions (base consoles, Pro, development environment PC) and different builds in the trailer. Some footage looks as bad as ever with terrible hair aliasing. For example the Galdin Quay part which everyone yesterday thought was Pro footage and was analysing next to the 50 minutes gameplay video, lol.

I really have to laugh at that by now. XD If that jagged mess and bad IQ is already is the Pro version...uh-oh...

Other than the jaggies, really seems like almost every piece of promo footage is taken during different times of day/weather and it is hard to tell what is what.

It isn't like the Shiva sisters made their first introduction in XIII, been introduced before it in side materials.

Uhhhh. Yes it is. Shiva was always one being before XIII. The closest thing is her lover Shivar and daughter Shivan in Revenant Wings.

I wonder if those were all "Shiva" or if there's like, an ice fairy race and Shiva is the queen.

BTW at 2:54 the side weapons appear just in one frame, felt so weird to see everything appear at once, almost like loading while in a cutscene.

Well now with SP deleyed is there any big RPG on consoles releasing this holiday?

But his vnecks are good.

This reminds me I need to really play FFXII:RV

ik, I could sell the codes on BST thread too and make some cash back. I'm a business genius.

I'm not sure what that means, but i know that Versus didn't come out for almost a decade, and Tabata was brought in to salvage whatever was left.
Now Tabata will get shat on if the game doesn't live up to some standards, but apparently Nomura is the genius that just wasn't given enough rope to work with? Cult of personality for Nomura is what i'd call it.

Tabata wasn't 'brought in'.. He was co director of FF15 for a year and a half under Nomura himself.

If you personally feel that Tabata doesn't deserve criticism for the game he's making rightnow, just say that. Just don't peddle false information like "Nomura could not get Versus out for 10 years because of his own incompetence".

If that was actually the case, he'd never be working on another game again.

I don't mean attacks by them. Just how you're walking and then everyones just lines up looking at an airship above. It's more of an immersion thing but it's really cool.

Usually stuff like this happens randomly, but in this occurrence it all fell into place pretty nicely.

We have this same scene clip in the behind the scenes of FFXV voice actors part 1 video also, or is it the same?

Click bait. Also, I'm honestly not feeling this game one bit. I'm sure it has an audience, but this is not for me lol.

I'm hyped jst as much as FFXV for world of FF. It looks amazing, classic ATB gameplay. It may look a little childish, but it honestly looks a lot of fun.

Maybe it was just me completely uninterested and ignorant in the unnecessarily convoluted story-telling of the KH series, but I don't get the appeal of Aqua in the fandom. Yes she has great character design, decent voice work and acting, she is physically strong and fights, but what actually separates her from Lightning or even Lara Croft from Tomb Raider reboot?

Nuh, Without being convoluted it would be a pretty uninteresting game to me(If you exclude Shimomura and the battle system).
So it managed to get unique by obscurity, not unnecessarily.

Yeah, both look to be exciting. Sure, I'm not hyped for WoFF in the same way I am for the first proper FF title since 2009, but I'm excited to play it and bask in all the nostalgic fan service and what looks to be a solid JRPG.

Trailer is awesome, but I really wish they would clarify what to expect graphically on release for base & pro models of PS4. I do not know what I am looking at here...

Im struggling to imagine a world where atleast one area of players aren't going to feel alienated when these games are being marketed after the release of Pro and a year later, Scorpio.

What are you looking at? PS4 Base or Pro? Xbox Base or Scorpio? PC? It used to be PC vs Console for promotional trailers but now even in consoles we have different tiers. Very messy indeed.

But I digress... I only own a base PS4 and don't plan on upgrading. I am hoping these two months they are taking for optimization will be worth the wait. If not... they better hurry up with the PC version.

Why was a character slapping Luna in the middle of a series of hype-inducing shots? Do they really think this is going to raise the stakes or something?

As long as you're not buying the game sight-unseen, it'll be trivial to find comparison videos after launch day.

There are half a dozen versions/builds of this scene in different trailers and gameplay videos. Each time it's different. Not just time of day, but lighting quality, texture quality, LOD quality. I can't really fathom how often they have to rework that scene. Who knows how it will look on game release. ;)
I also don't understand why they change the Duscae region all the time. More grass, fewer grass, more grass again, other grass, dark green grass, light green grass, dark and light green grass mixed (in Episode Duscae 2.0). No shrubs, shrubs, other shrubs, bigger shrubs, light green trees, dark green trees... Even rock placement differs from build to build. Why would you move rocks? XD

What I took from it was "you're supposed to hate Ardyn".

In 3 years of trailers he's been pretty likeable. That was the first time I thought, "oh, he bad".

Well, the game has dynamic weather and lighting, so that seems ... normal?

Would've been nice to actually come to these conclusions myself, while playing the game, and for the team to find another way of conveying this than the clichéd and cheap slapping of a woman, thrown into the trailer for nothing more than the reason above. Not that nuance has been this game's strong suit.

He was always gonna be bad. Villains with a calm joke way can really turn out to be monsters. Look at HXH all the troupe members are pretty laid back but they are horrible killing monsters.

Or Frieza from DB, or Dolfamingo from OP.

Do you guys thing Ardyn was also the one that mistreated Luna when she was a child (Dawn trailer)?

He might have abused her all this time since Niflheim took over Tenebrae. :(

So cutscenes really do change depending on what time of day in the game???

Most of them do it seems like.

There are some that don't, just based on the fact that we've only seen one time of day setting for them (ie. Luna vs. Leviathan).
