No.
Not because it's not technically possible (it is), but because first party politics.
Other games have done it thought right. Take your 360 save to PS4 for example.
Borderlands and GTA off the top of my head. Maybe Diablo 3?

Let me guess: Sony?
Visuals? Emblems? I dunno. I imagine Bungie's still trying to answer these questions.
While there should be more content for general players I don't agree with not having a raid. A game can have content for casual players while still having a raid for the hardcore crowd that sticks with the game months after new content has launched

I think they mentioned a while ago that they would be mentioned or honored in D2 like on a plaque or monument of some sort. How do we bring our characters with us into D2 if they introduce entirely new classes?
It's fine in games where there is tons of content, but when you charge 30 bucks for expansion that a person can complete all the PvE content in one or two days, it makes raids seem not needed. But at least there isn't a sub, but at same time seeing how little content there is, seeing focus put on raid development really is annoying.
Destiny 2 really would ideally offer more from the get go for everyone, but seeing how successful D1 was, I don't see why they would bother to change strategy.
Notlikethis.gifIt's never happening Cuco. The dream is dead.

I'm talking about new enemy types and such. Kinda upset that every new expansion only had reskins of what we've seen before. What exactly were you wanting? They showed a bunch of new weapons, ornaments, multiple armor sets, the raid... None of those are reskins of anything.

Even taken King was just black and white versions of the already known alien races.
Iron looks to be purple versions of the spider boss and alien races we've already seen :/
Have they made a raid as good as Vault of Glass post launch?

I think the bigger question is how much stuff from D1 will be carried over? I wouldn't be surprised to see entirely new classes.
I think King's Fall is the best raid. It's way more precise and there's less room for error but the satisfaction of completing it was always higher for me with it than any of the other raids.
I go back and forth. Both raids are great in their own way. Crota can suck it!A matter of opinion but King's Fall was pretty solid and more fun for me than Vault, they learned from what went wrong and right for Vault and Crota.
I'd talked to a loose-lipped person in the know who said it would be very, very little to transfer over. But players from D1 would have a care package of some sort in D2.
That said, D2's still in early stages, so that's subject to change.
And of course I can't divulge any sources so feel free to disregard my post as worthless conjecture.

Kings fall is mechanically limited, the developers were so concerned about players playing the game the way they wanted that you really couldn't play the raid in a way that's much further than what the developers imagined. For me a good raid should allow for some level of flexibility rather than make it hard by allowing one specific style and punish for minor errors. There's also the fact that players like going back to content being over leveled and facing the same enemies again..but with kings fall being over leveled still won't change the fact that you have to do the same things...for example no matter how over leveled you are you need 16 bombs for Oryx. While it was amazing at first I saw this limitation as a drawback in the design. This is something that Bungie wanted in King's Fall and it's actually going to change in the new raid.A matter of opinion but King's Fall was pretty solid and more fun for me than Vault, they learned from what went wrong and right for Vault and Crota.
PS4 Basegame Blu-Ray owner plus all DLC through TTK purchased digitally. I want the game digital so I no longer need the disc. Can I purchase the Digital Collection Upgrade for $40? When I view the Digital Collection (not upgrade) it says not available for purchase because I own TTK. My only other option on the store USA to buy ROI alone for $30 but that won't help if I want base game digital. Thanks for the help!
Thanks. Sucks I'm essentially given no option to go all digital. My impression is that this isn't possible. If someone else knows differently, feel free to correct me. Pretty sure the vanilla game was removed after TTK.

Played Destiny till the end of the story missions.
Played Taken King till the end if the story missions.
Knew this was coming up and kind of liked this new tradition of playing some Destiny every September so I logged back in to see where things are these days. Yikes. I suddenly had 4 pages of quests and zero direction on what to do.
Taking a pass this time and will come back for Destiny 2. That said, this expansion does look good.
Thanks. Sucks I'm essentially given no option to go all digital.
Well this is exactly what I've heard, so it's not worthless conjecture. But yes, with Destiny, anything can change at any time.I'd talked to a loose-lipped person in the know who said it would be very, very little to transfer over. But players from D1 would have a care package of some sort in D2.

The ROI team is very small, while hundreds of people (and several studios) are working on D2. I expect D2 to be pretty huge.
You can buy the "digital collection upgrade" which contains all the content, including RoI for $40. It's meant for people that owned Destiny on PS3 and are making the jump, but it doesn't specifically look for a previous PS3 owner, simply if you already have a license for all the previous content. (Assuming it still works)Thanks. Sucks I'm essentially given no option to go all digital.
You're crazy. That's not happening. But I think planets in Destiny 2 will be different in a lot of ways, and that they're going to change the way in which quests and destinations are handled.Really hoping for that. This is a game where some of us have invested thousands of hours into. I want to be able to explore absolutely gigantic planets with tons of content, secrets, easter eggs, patrol missions, public events, vehicles, social modes like court of oryx, etc.
Call me crazy, but I would love for each planet to be the size of an Elder Scrolls/Fallout game.

2 years ago I was still buying all games on disc. I think Destiny is the last game I purchased before switching to all digital.Any reason you didn't buy it digitally originally? See this come up a bunch and I just wonder.
Awesome, thanks! So essentially they just check that you own TTK, the system doesn't matter. You can buy the "digital collection upgrade" which contains all the content, including RoI for $40. What you're trying to do is exactly what I did.

Yup. If you can check out at the store, you're good. Just have to delete the Destiny app from your home screen and redownload the digital version.Awesome, thanks! So essentially they just check that you own TTK, the system doesn't matter.
Edit: Sorry for the double post
Makes the extra year of PS exclusivity on TTK items even more disgusting.

I was truly surprised how similar the last gen and current gen versions of the game were, to the point that it felt like enemy density/encounter complexity was limited to last-gen capabilities.
What's dynamic about warpriest and golgoroth (apart from being able to do single orb or gaze switch)?People always forget that VOG's Templar stuff is an absolute exercise in tedium though. Warpriest and Golgoroth can be played pretty dynamically as well.
That said, enemy count was pretty big in TTK. There's a (Petra/Variks?) mission where you're assaulted by a bunch of Cabal and there's gotta be like 30 of them charging you from over a hill. That's what happened. AI count was limited due to the 360 and PS3 (which makes sense because it started as a 360 game)
Rise of Iron already makes use of this limit being raised.
What's dynamic about warpriest and golgoroth (apart from being able to do single orb or gaze switch)?
With Templar you have three things you can do, cheese from top, take cover to the side or move about the area. Each more difficult than the previous but an option none the less.

Like I said apart from having an option to gaze switch or do single orb what's dynamic about it? Even you only mention those two when you say they are dynamic. What isn't dynamic about Golgoroth? That is the only "boss" I would say that is actually super fluid in how you approach the encounter. Many different ways you can actually handle it. When I first did the encounter, I saw it as ping ponging Golgoroth across all the orbs. I always thought the single orb method felt "cheap" and avoiding the actual unique and fun mechanic they had (literally holding aggro and aggro swapping).
Golgoroth and the bridge from Crota's End are my two favorite singular encounters in the raids thus far. The closer they get to actual MMO raid mechanics, the better and more interesting the encounter designs become.
I would have liked Golgoroth's challenge mode to somehow restructure the fight slightly so that aggro swapping and moving between the orbs or whatever different damage spot would have been necessary.
