I thought one of the features for the Pro was that you won't need the processor unit, that it will have that built in. Is that no longer the case?
That was never the case.

I guess it was always only a rumor/speculation back when the Pro was still Neo and PS4K. Googling it definitely has a few sites mentioning it but it was never confirmed. I guess I just never followed up on that.
IGN's unboxing is up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfET72aw0eU
I never understood why EVE gets put in the same list as games like DriveClub or RIGS.
Now to be fair, the games aren't out yet, but they already look to be a lot more fun than EVE ever will be. I had a good time with the game in my first 15 minutes. By the hour mark, I didn't want to touch it again.
There's reasons why the critic and user score are low.
I always go for Best Buy if something costs the same as on amazon. It'll likely arrive earlier, and the returns/exchanges are easier as well in case you change your mind or the unit is defective or something.Ihave preorders at Amazon and Best Buy...which should I keep?
My favourite thing about this video is that IGN still thinks the breakout box acts as additional horsepower for PS4.
It's not out for 2 weeks, how log in advance would you expect that? Press has units, I'd guess the previews will start popping up in 7-10 days.

What you don't know is that EVE is getting all the content at launch that Oculus had to get patched in, also when EVE launches on PSVR it will get 2 more single player missions and Cross-Play. So the reviews will be different as a whole content wise to PC.
I don't expect there to be any issue as long as it doesn't run hot. Personally, I've never liked putting stuff on top of my systems.Think it'll be safe to sit the box on top of the PS4 if sitting horizontal?

But the head set also has to connect to the box, so I don't know how you could hide it somewhere. Has there been any mention of how long the cables on the headset are?
That video is kinda frustrating. Why do I apparently know more about PSVR than IGN does?
I was never able to figure this out, but are headphones required? For those that have surround sound systems that are of high quality, wouldn't effectively do the same thing? Or is the proximity of the sound being right in yours part of the magic of fooling your brain? They also state you can still use wireless headphones instead of wired ones...which is technically true but only if you use the port on the PSVR headset as the audio signal for the transmitter (making the whole thing very cumbersome).
I also thought you would need to have your headphones plugged into the device for the 3D audio to work. If you hook them up via Bluetooth aren't they just completely by passing the breakout box?My favourite thing about this video is that IGN still thinks the breakout box acts as additional horsepower for PS4.
It's not the same effect for the 3D sound to work. You really need headphones. I say this as someone with a decent chunk of change invested in my surround system.I was never able to figure this out, but are headphones required? That's what I thinking would be the case, as much as I didn't want it to be true. Thanks! It's not the same effect for the 3D sound to work. You really need headphones. I say this as someone with a decent chunk of change invested in my surround system.
The box is hooked up to the HDMI out though. It's theoretically possible for it to mix a 5.1 audio output that is based on your head position. The audio is calculated by the box depending on the orientation of the head and the relative position of the sound source in the virtual world. There is no way the HDMI receiver could produce anything close to that aural experience. It is fully three-dimensional and a crucial part of the immersion.
Speaker size/distance/height/etc would make it almost impossible to do correctly. The box is hooked up to the HDMI out though. It's theoretically possible for it to mix a 5.1 audio output that is based on your head position.
A proper setup takes position, distance and size into account. I'm sure the headphones will be easier and sound better, but I think theoretically you could simulate it with a surround sound setup. It would be more complicated since it has to coordinate the mix with the your positional rotation of your head but still doable.Speaker size/distance/height/etc would make it almost impossible to do correctly.
How the hell did you miss the best implementation of Morpheus, Summer Lesson?
Anyone planning on getting the gun adapter?

Heads up, you can preorder Here They Lie for $15.99 from Amazon with a Prime account.

Is a full price game indeed... and I also think that was said in an interview that was a launch gameSo what the hell is going on with that pricing? They are saying it's discounted from 59.99, but there's no way this is a full price game right?
Also the release dates are all messed up, this is a launch game isn't it?

Also on the maybe list. It looks really cool but I hope other games use it as well *cough* Time Crisis VR plz *cough*.Anyone planning on getting the gun adapter?

Oh, then yeah I agree. To be honest though, it really does feel like one long demo considering how insanely repetitive it is.

The VR game doesn't seem to have any type of plot or anything.Do I need to play Until Dawn before jumping into the VR game, or are they completely separate?
Is it wrong to feel sorry for people that are excited for this?
Are there men in it?

I'm locking in the $16 price. At $16, I'll try almost anything.

There is going to be one. $79.99Time Crisis VR would be amazing! That's what I thought of when watching the Rush of Blood video on youtube.
I may get the gun controller as well since I'll probably get Farpoint and I wouldn't be surprised if they have a bundle option. Hopefully a few more games get confirmed as being able to use it before then too.
I was already expecting them, to be honest. We have had hour-long extended plays of games way before the 2-week barrier before; I watched the entire gears prologue a couple of days ago, for example.
The issue is you know what you're geting with a gears game by now; you could issue a statement saying "it's the same length, style and content as Gears 2" and that'd do the job. Almost all these games are new IPs, some of them are very short experiences-Sony really needs to explain these games to people, in detail, if they want us to preorder.
At this point people are preordering on faith and a few short vids.
