I kind of hope it has a crazy name like the Wii. Duo sounds too conventional IMO.

That's a great point.

However, even that simple geometry, rendered two times, at a not so bad resolution (720p+) is very demanding.

I think I'd probably just assess her on the original rumor regardless.

My thought process is that, assuming nothing happens, four or five different people would end up impaling themselves on their own spears, and then on Saturday or Sunday, a financial paper or something is likely to post a lead-in to Nintendo's call, and those threads will be explicitly not discussing the sources that impaled themselves.

Barring that, if you want a thread that's more about doing something like discussing what types of games you'd like to see on the system or whatever instead of a thread around bad rumors, you could have that instead.

I actually tried VR games on phone, perhaps it was due to the headset which was just a generic one, or my only 1080p phone display resolution, but the results were really bad, bad image quality, almost 0 immersion or feeling to be there...i threw that thing away, perhaps Samsung Gear VR is different and better, it must be actually since it costs 10 times the other generic headsets and require latest Samsung Galaxy phones...
But really with a 720p screen resolution and with the thickness NX should have...i'm 99% sure it won't support VR, at least not the way phones do
 
I just wanna say, lets see more of those pointers in the NX reveal, Nintendo, like the late 1988 Super Famicom reveal !!

If the rumours of around PS4 performance is true with a modern GPU it might be possible.
I really hope so.

That's not happening, trust me.
Just look at how beefy a computer needs to be to drive VR nowadays. Unless Nintendo is planning on incorporating foveated rendering (which I really doubt), they need very strong hardware to be meaningful in the VR scene.

Any reason the games have to be AAA or "meaningful"? As was pointed out, mobile VR exists. Something like Pokémon Snap 2 could be a good candidate for Nintendo VR.

Yeah, but you won't get a handheld that is near-PS4 level.

Unless you want something with very bad battery life, very bulky and hot as the sun.

I'm still thinking the main console for the NX ecosystem is the home console 10k has been hinting at.

I'd imagine that if you want to implement VR on your machine, it would be a big selling point and not be restricted to smaller experiences/very particular games.

But maybe I'm wrong.

Yeah. Your shitty experience was due to your shitty HMD.

PSVR and DK2 are both 1080p and both provide a great experience.
 
Maybe I end up being wrong, but I feel like one of the big reasons Nintendo has waited so long is so when they reveal this thing they can show like three or four killer first-party games it'll launch with and have a clear and concise message for the system. They want to get people as excited as ever right off the bat, as opposed to the relative confusion that was the Wii U reveal.
