I wanted to ask you guys. Do you still think media got invites to play the NX? Because to me it felt like they did get invites a week or so ago. If that's the case they could still play it next week which would mean they have to do a full reveal next week right??

It looks a bit better (may just be a higher quality trailer, the videos uploaded during E3 were terrible in that regard), but i think it's the Wii U version.

Best to have them, but also, Zelda Wii wasn't much better looking than Zelda Gamecube either. I don't see Nintendo massively upgrading the visuals.

I expected that meant only Zelda would be shown, and no other games, but maybe I was nust reading into it too much and she literally meant the exact launch lineup wouldn't be told but didn't intend to discount there being other games shown?

"Expecting final name, portable form factor and new Mario game today - but it's only a sneak peek. Lots more time before March release. #NX"
So are we now expecting more than Zelda and possibly Mario to be shown?
What? If you've been following the NX trail for any time at all over the past few months you'll know that the system is shaping up to be quite promising. I think you want it to fail, for some weird reason.

If Meteoid Prime 4, Super Mario Galaxy 3, or a Super Smash Bros 4 w/ extra content are revealed to be in the pipeline for the launch window, Nintendo may secure my pre-order.

From this? It looks EXACTLY like the Wii U version. I'm hoping it is the Wii U version, otherwise the utter lack of a visual upgrade on the NX is a big disappointment.
That's not to say the game doesn't look great. It looks all kinds of hella awesome. But yeah.

NX hardware is probably irrelevant. They weren't going to make many changes to the game visually between the versions. They did absolutely nothing for Twilight Princess and there was a bit of extra muscle on the Wii.
Which is why I hope the Mario thing holds true. Zelda will sell the system, but something else is going to have to set the watermark for visual fidelity on the system.

Some people here seem to believe you can have near XBO levels of power in a handheld form factor.
It sounds impossible to me, yet we're in the minority thinking this way apparently.

Why would a dev kit even have a render/promo image? Nintendo is funny about people even taking photos of what they look like.

Yeah, if it were a real devkit we'd get a shitty picture with bad lighting and lots of dust and written masking tape, not a pretty finished looking stock promo image showing off the thing.
It's a portable console. The specs are gonna be low, that's a fact.

But Twilight Princess Wii was a direct port. There was no graphical improvement, besides progressive resolution (I think).

Power won't be the shocking thing here. Low price will.
Rumors for over a year have been they want an extremely low pricepoint. My guess is they wanted this at $199.
