These are the latest intel drivers:

People's issues are that the GPD will either shutdown or will crash from display driver issues.
Between all of the crashes, the heatsink changes, the 8750>8700 JD.com guys made out like bandits :/
Thats....really disappointing to hear thought we were getting better units not worse.
Kapton tape and no fins!
Wait there is a cutout in the Kapton tape under the pads.
It is slightly smaller than the pad but that shouldn't be a issue.
No fins is irritating though.
Hey Phawx, in anticipation of getting the damn thing, I'm trying to get all of the accessories that I would need for improving this thing. What size shim would I need? And how much clearance do we have to add fins? Would most GPU memory heatsinks fit?
I'd first make sure your GPDwin works before trying to mod it.
Also, I am so happy right now, my Heatsink mod fixed my 8750. I guess I should have let my machine rest for a bit.
Pull 50~fps on the metroid intro now

Better than the 8700?
I'm still fine with getting the materials early. I'd like to be prepared.
Talking alone lol
Phawx last thing again beside my previous unanswered question (sorry if II bother ) your last step regarding your bios guide is a value to change from 1 to 0 in the register. I still don't have the performance mode in energy. Just normal and economy. Any idea ?
And in-between the black screen flashes as the graphics driver fails and resets over and over again before I get the app blocked popup I get graphical errors the likes of which you'd see when you have a failing graphics card.
Mine was shipped from CN on geekbuying i hope i didnt get a dude I could barely afford this thing.
8700 version, Overwatch runs at about 30-40fps on the training stage at 720p and everything else low (game defaulted to those settings).

When did you order?!
Wow, that's pretty good for a new game! Any crashes/shutdowns for you yet?
Dear gamer
I just noticed that someone concerned the updated heat sink.
Yes,we get off the fins from the heat sink. Here is the reason:
Original the function of fins is to Increase the cooling area, but due to the cooling structure of WIN,the Fan can't blows the heat sink directly.
So actually the fins is no function in WIN's cooling structure. And it also have a bad effect,it will stop a half of air vent.So we finally decided to get off the fins.
Now the updated heat sink without fins is more useful for cooling.
Yes, the 8700 heat dissipation structure is better
Graphics driver crash?
May be caused by bad CPU
heh I can crash the display driver using gamemodels3d.com viewing a armor model. There is no direct relationship between GPU drive crash and device fever
You can force lower resolutions by fiddling around with the ini files.I only played for 5 mins, and it's the first game I played. No crash or shutdown, but I stopped to install riva so I can check out the temps. I'll boot it up again once it installs and see.
Also, I tried to lower the rez, but 720p was the lowest the game seemed to allow?
I bought 2 GPD WINs (one will be a gift), but this is my IGG version.
Not sure if it really applies to us though. The latest BIOS file (1025 only compatible with different batches of the timing screen, the user receives after the National Day is up to date, being not brush BIOS): http://pan.baidu.com/s/1ciQbL0

Oh there's a new BIOS that was released yesterday I guess.
Well the post is from yesterday at least.

Wait, which are the good units? The 8750 or the 8700?
Mine is travelling all the France, it stayed in Paris for some days, than it went to Lyon and now... I don't know -.-'Shipping info says my WIN has been at the Hong Kong airport for almost a week.
Anyone else getting that?

Geekbuying? Yeah, mine is saying the same thing.
Same I'm still hoping for a next week drop off but I don't get why it's there so longWell at least I'm not alone.
Well I've tried every intel update I can, gone through many settings in the BIOS playing with settings and still nothing.
Well I did find it can play the original thief but that's not much of a accomplishment.
Kendy and Wade have replied on Dingoonity.

Jesus christ this is the third time they have asked for my *correct address* I literally sent them a friggen google maps street address to go along the last email, I haven't had a single online order from anyone saying my address is wrong cept for them.
Otherwise everything else works great. Turning off screen rotation is super easy in windows 10 btw
Go to your device manager and look for a device called "kxfusion". This is the screen rotation device.
Either deactivate this device or uninstall the drivers for it (Like I have) and then restart your Win.
If your screen is rotated the wrong way go to the display settings and manually adjust the rotation.
Hit the Windows key or start button
Type "Device Manager" and launch it
Navigate to "Sensor I/O devices" and expand it
Right click "Kionix KXCJ9 3-axis accelerometer SPB" and hit Disable
Navigate to "Sensors" and expand it
Right click "Kionix Sensor Fusion Device" and hit Disable
Phawx what steps should i start taking to determine the quality of my device
Phawx, are there any voltage/power management settings in the BIOS?
No. When it comes to power usage the only things that you can change are settings like "power+performance" to energy efficient. Or customizing the settings of the CPU to not use speed step.
Seems like people would be better off using ThrottleStop in Windows to curb the CPU multiplier.
Other things that *should* reduce energy usage but still seem to cause crashes for people is the energy efficient modes of the GPU. By Default IGD thermal is disabled. If you enable this, the thermal throttle should be much lower but some people are still experiencing issues.
I disabled kxfusion pretty much as soon as I got it because the rotation was getting annoying and I don't need that sensor and that hasn't done anything.
Yeah, reducing CPU frequency is definitely good for reducing power draw, and I think a user on dingoonity tried that and it resulted in lengthening the time between shutdowns (not eliminating issues altogether though). The thing with the auto-throttling is that there are a few reports that temps don't get very high before shutdown. I'm totally speculating on all of this, but typically the sequence of events for a GPU is something like:
- 3D application attempts to render
- GPU ramps up the clockspeed/memory frequency, which requests more power from the PSU.
- At sustained high load and higher power draw, temps increase.
From my limited time overclocking CPU/GPU, you can either have reboot/shutdown issues due to:
- Voltage Starvation
- Thermal Issues (auto-shutdown due to thermal protection features)
I have seen no reports of extremely high temps before shutdown, so it would seem to point more to a voltage starvation problem.
Again, I'm just a computer hobbyist with limited anecdotal experience, and I don't have a failing device (yet) to perform anything more scientific with this hypothesis. If I am right, given that there is no access to voltage settings, device owners really have nothing in their power (pun intended) to fix it. Either a motherboard issue (most likely IMO), battery issue, or BIOS issue. The final being the most optimistic case, as a BIOS update could save the devices from being returned.
