Watch_Dogs 2 |OT| .HTML

Really excited about the game , waiting on the PC version! Going fully lethal, and it shall be glorious. Two more weeks :/ I just hope the driving is heavier, otherwise it'll be a lot of running like the first game baha.

Still can't shoot from a car though?!

I have this game pre-ordered on PC for $33.. However, with all the Pro talk I'm tempted to get the PS4 Pro version as well.

Should I do it GAF?

Just finished playing for the first time. Constantly saying to myself "no way are the gta world building comparisons fair" then realised 4 hours passed in the blink of an eye

If you want trophies? Unless your PC is pretty old, for me willingly running it at (sub) 30fps isnt an option.

Hard to explain, but does anyone else have the very very right side of the screen where the pixels don't seem to display correctly when moving the camera around, they kind of just look odd? Like static.

I'll have to take a picture, but I know it's not the tv as it's not in any other game, just this one.

I'm over trophies..
Unless the PC version is a bad port. I should be able to run at 1440p/60.

I'll show some patience and wait. I do have Dishonored 2 (PC), no framerate issues, thankfully..

The next issue is; FFXV drops the same day as Watch Dogs 2 PC. :( Not enough time in the day.

My luck. This is my most anticipated game of the year (yes, for real), and as I patiently count down the hours until it unlocks on PSN I'm slowly getting sicker and sicker. By the time the game unlocks I feel like complete dogshit and still do. I've played for about 20 minutes so far. I was a trooper and went into work this morning but only lasted about 3 hours until I had to call it quits. Just woke up. Still feel like garbage and probably won't play. Damnit.

Dumb question but how do you pick up items with the Jumper? I drove it into a crawl space where there is a can of spray paint but I can't figure out how to actually pick it up.

Edit: nm, I just hit buttons until I got it.

I remember the GAF thread that popped up a few months ago for free prima codes. I picked up Watch Dogs 2 back then, now reading the eguide when I'm not able to play.

Game is gorgeous and I love the gameplay options available but I cannot deal with these controls. What a shitty and unnecessary change.

Controls are worse across the board, while just about everything else seems better.

It's kind of weird considering the best thing about WD1 was how well it controlled.

What's wrong with the controls?

If I had to guess, I'd say it's the matter of having too many buttons for doing one thing. I know there's four options of hacking stuff but honestly I can't even remember what they do since half the time it makes more sense to hit L1 and let it choose what it wants to do. I know holding L1 then pressing Square makes it proximity detonated, but it feels like too many steps in the controls and slows you down a lot.

I'm not fond of the controls so far, it's taking me a fair while to remember what does what at the start before adding in all the stuff that unlocks as you go. Basically there's a lot of contextual stuff and without the formula of an AC game (Head, hands, feet button layout) it's not as intuitive on the fly.

Me too holy shit it's everything I love.

The side mission "A High Price To Pay" is based off Pharma boss Martin Shkreli buying the only copy of Wu Tang's "Once Upon a Time in Shaolin" album for 2$ million.
I was just reading his Wikipedia and it seems like the side mission even quotes the whole "most hated man in America" and the price increase in medicines. They pretty much only changed a couple names, hahah.

How feasible is to play without shooting a lot? I don't know much about the story or protagonist, but the premise and such doesn't seem like it fits with the character getting into massive shootouts

They're not awful, they're just nowhere near as good as WD1.

Take simply doing a fast cover transition for example. In the first game you just held in the trigger, in WD2 you have to click the thumbstick every time. Putting run on the stick makes movement less fluid in general and the shooting controls don't feel as good either (taking out focus mode doesn't help).

Driving feels worse.
On foot controls feel worse.
Contextual prompts for vaulting and climbing are inconsistent.
Freerunning animation is janky.

Feels more like GTA than anything.

Hacking controls are also more fiddly but I definitely appreciate the additional options.

I just had a woman on the sidewalk stop and yell "your life doesn't matter! You hear me?? Your life doesn't matter!" at me.

WTF!

So far I haven't fired my pistol at all. The skill tree mixes up the upgrades among Agressive, Ghost and Trickster with a handful of skills belonging in one or more categories. I get the feeling it's very doable.

I don't use any lethal guns. Only stun gun
I only use the stun gun, proximity bombs and gang hits for clearing out large spaces. I've been doing just fine.

It's definitely doable. I've gotten into a couple by being careless trying to be stealthy. As long as you scout out the room with the cameras/drones and know where all the enemies are you should be fine.

Yeah, the NPC pedestrians are way more impressive than ones in other open world games.

Surprisingly very, but, if you have to use a gun, the default weapon is a stun gun pistol with unlimited ammo that instantly knocks out most enemies. A lot of the hackable abilities are non lethal too. Marcus is definitely not the gung ho type, so playing and tailoring your playstyle non-lethally is definitely a bit more immersive imho, plus, enemies hit hard in this game. Reduced health compared to the first game.

Is the stuff with occasionally finding missions from just hacking random people still there? If so is there more depth to it?

Yes, they're side operations. There are a fair amount of them and the characters comment on them as they're doing them.

Oh man that doesn't sound good at all. Watch Dogs 1 had sublime on-foot controls and I always was worried when I heard they changed the sprint from the right trigger to L3. I'm gonna need to be able to remap those controls Ubi.

It's weird hearing a lot of impressions that the driving is worse now when the journalist previews all said they were much better. I didn't have a problem with the driving in WD1 and thought the motorcycles controlled great so now I'm sweating. It looks twitchy as heck in the videos but I can't tell if it controls like Saints Row (baaaddd) or GTA V (good).
