Final Fantasy XV SPOILER THREAD

I meant FFXIII-2 of course. Should have been obvious with the three Bahamuts guys. Thanks.

Is there ANYONE else out there who likes a personal face off between two foes as a final battle besides me? I liked it in KH2 (kind of doesn't count cause Riku), in MGS3 (balee dat), and in Twilight Princess. I liked it here too!

I love that too, but only MGS3+4 got it right for me. The second phase here looks like total shit. Urgh. Well but I saw the Naga/Medusa boss battle on Youtube and that looked a lot more fun with getting cursed to the frog status and the awesome lightning.

Jet Bahamut and buddies was nothing to sneer at. It's a crazy would we live in when Toriyama had more respect towards the franchise.

Crap I haven't played that one yet either. Oh well it's a spoiler thread so I deserve getting spoiled.

Wait, Jet??? That's what they call him??? Jet? Not Neo or Chaos or anything like that? Or does it mean something in Latin?

So what do people think of Bahamut?

Not a fan of Square's weird boner for fat Mecha Bahamuts. I liked when Bahamut used to be a real dragon.

Meh at the final boss. I like the concept of it overall, but it feels more on the lackluster side here, like it could use a bit more flair to it, and/or a place visually better for the fight to take place at.

There are three Bahamuts in the final battle. Jet Bahamut is the main one. He is supported by Amber Bahamut and Garnet Bahamut and the fight also has awesome music fitting the whole thing and it's also not that easy to get through. Also way more epic with the phases before it...

Oh so I did see the final boss then. Saw a friend play it at her house but I thought it was just a boss battle.

The shot of the whole city looks like a city planning diorama. Terrible.

The reason why I say this is because my aunt worked in the city planning department when I was growing up and before she retired. She'd take me to work and across from her office, there was a giant wooden diorama of the city. Looked pretty much exactly like that clip except the buildings are silver-colored instead of wooden.

I do love it as well, but the genre's and franchise's history made me inevitably feel disappointed at the lack of a transformation. Not because it should be there, but because the game hints at that with the voice change and the crazy metaphorical bullshit stage. If it wasn't for it almost being a boss fight, it wouldn't be an issue.

The entire XIII-2 final battle was extremely boring to me.

Someone on twich streaming the Behemoth fight again, this time I'm in no way sleepy. Looks like total chaos, kiting, being weirded out by the spell casting system in this game (missing the grenade tosses), and it's on easy it seem.

It can be very effective. This here isn't effective at all. It's pathetic, really. There's no suspense, no epicness, nothing.

That was my thought. Perhaps it's the player but nothing really happens, it looks really dull.
It's definitely the player, all the parts on the ground were fucking terrible, he never blocks or counters and at one point just started doing lazy single hits with the sword. He was really bad

"Final boss is shit"

"Have you played it?"

"No, saw video of guy rushing through on easy mode"

"Oh"

So what's wrong with saying that the city looks like shit? That's not something that will change for me when I play it myself starting tomorrow and getting to that on the weekend. It just looks disappointing - what should change with normal mode? Better looking dodging (rather dodging and guarding at all). Wow.

It's just disappointing because the other optional stuff that I've seen looks better than that final boss.

I like it when it's executed well

You wound me gentlemen. And Aqua. I still liked it and thought it was epic...oh well it's just my opinion at the end haha.

City looks fine to me. Each his own.

The city does look fine but he's probably complaining about that one scene with Bahamut where you can see the areas that have a weird brown colour on the buildings. Also, he seems pretty upset that there is no big monster to fight at the end of the game.

I'm glancing around this thread sparingly. I'm just happy that Ardyn is the villain, just like I thought. I instantly loved his character from the moment I heard his first line.

The final battle looks cool, like something out of a stylish character action game. Nice atmosphere, and the combat looks flashy and fun.

so without spoiling:

general impressions so far? heard story is lacking from the other thread..

Anyone here whos beaten it have a rating on the game out of 10?

From an October interview with Tabata:

Q: After we finish the game, can we replay it to see secondary stuff? Also, it’ll be possible to play as old Noctis and hisbros?

HT: Sure, after you finish the game we’ll be able to keep on playing and exploring the world after the main quest. About the other question, if you’re meaning that you want to keep all the experience and levels you gained during the first play through, that option won’t be possible on the base version of the game. Maybe we can add something like that through DLC.

Q: I wasn’t referring about that actually: I wanted to know if when we start a New Game+ it’ll be possible to play as young party (normal Noctis and the bros) or old Noctis and co. (old Noctis and the bros).

HT: Oh, I’d rather not answer that. I actually want people to find out for themselves. I don’t want to give spoilers.

Hmmmm.

Time to add my complaint with the Bahamut flying video: It isn't the diorama city, it's the shaky cam lol

Like why does it need to zoom in and shake at a shot of a stationary sword in the ground

The final duel sounds like typical Nomura. The thing is, only Nomura could have made it more epic, more cinematic and more badass.

This is not Nomura's game, and we can't really make any conclusions about what anything in Versus or his 15 would have eventually been.

But what Tabata created here, to me atleast, is down to earth final battle that, while semi over the top is at the same time very understated. And i kind of really appreciate that. Its just two dudes brawling for the fate of the world

I saw on Reddit the Spanish streamer guy said it was a 9/10 but it is the internet of course so take that as you will. I also saw another post of some guy who was up to chapter 5 and said it was his goty....no idea what to believe though tbh.

The city view during the Bahamut summon is "fine" because it's really not that important. You see the entire city from a high aerial view for a few seconds and it doesn't look fantastic. Game ruined? Of course not...I'd rather they focus their efforts in the areas they did rather than making the city look pretty for the 5 seconds we see it.

I need to look at the battle again. I know people have differing opinions on the background but the two guys going at it look great. Background is too fast for me to notice haha.
