Yea don't know if this is actually real but this rumor is spreading guys. Lots of people will be upset if this isn't a thing

Eventhubs hasn't said anything about it...

...would that be on purpose?

The MvC4 rumors are interesting, but also a bit concerning. If it's really happening, did they manage to negotiate a better licensing deal? I feel like it wouldn't be worth making another one if they'd have to drop support in a year again like last time. The Vs. series has always been held back by legal red tape, so if the rumors are true, hopefully we can look forward to something that will be supported for a longer period of time instead of a quick abandonment. The other issue is balancing; will the community accept a game with continuous support where the broken and/or fun things could get removed quickly? MvC3 got a single update, and two minor balance patches that didn't change things drastically. Perhaps adding it to the Capcom Pro Tour would reduce the amount of kneejerk balance changes, but that all hinges on if they got the rights to support it for that long.

I remember reading months ago that Marvel appointed a new head of the games dept or something and he said he wanted to shift focus on AAA games

I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but it's really weird how all of this is happening plus Curleh Mustache is getting revived for February.

Actually I forgot about God Hand, I'd hope to see Gene make it too.

Don't know much about Rival Schools but I actually really do like Batsu from my experience with Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. Dude has some ballin' supers where he actually brings out his partner to help him beat up the opponent.

Imagine that with like two other partners in Marvel lol

How would this work in 3 on 3? You see, Rival Schools was ALSO a 2 on 2 game, where characters could team up together, so his super in TvC made perfect sense. The only thing I can think of is they can mimic Kyosuke's super from CvS2, only swap Kyosuke and Batsu. But wait, I almost forgot Project Justice basically had 3 character team up moves, maybe that could work. Otherwise I'd agree (dat Hiyama voice), bring in all the awesome TvC Capcom characters, Batsu, Roll, Volnutt, Saki, and Soki.

As for Marvel characters I'd like to see

Ms Marvel, duh. Her powers could make for a great moveset
Black Panther. I picture him with a moveset similar to Sabretooth (minus the Birdie gunfire)
Captain Marvel (just mix Nova and Rogue together)
Thanos. A nice callback to MSH AND with Infinity War around the corner, it's the perfect time to bring him back as the final boss.
Stan Lee! As I said before, not as a character but as an announcer somehow.

Everyone else would be gravy as far as I'm concerned. Bringing in Giants ala TvC would be really cool too.

If they wanted to do Super Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 with new characters.

I'd be down.

Well, if that happened, that'd mean Capcom's got the Marvel licence back, and if they did get it back, well...you do the math.
Umvc3 port I think. It's just like how marvel/disney is brining some of the old beloved games to the current gen consoles. Like ultimate alliance 1 and 2, or the ps2 star wars games on ps4, nothing more imo.

That would still mean Capcom got the Marvel license back. Losing it is why MVC Origins and MVC2 were taken off digital stores and why UMVC3 is out of print.

I know what CPT is, and if you read my post, you know that the FGC plays multiplat games on PS4 anyway during tournaments, just like every gen there's a platform of choice for specific games, despite being multiplat.
Esports and sales are not related (just like SFV showed us...).

Read my posts. I swear that over the several times I've replied to you in this thread, you've always skipped the arguments and just remembered the final lines.
Marketing exclusivity deals doesn't mean a game is an exclusive, albeit it's important nowadays. I agree with that, again, if you read more than the last lines of my posts...

The reason I didn't respond to you is you gave me a LOL as a response. When in fact the things i was saying have some truth to them. Especially with Adam and John vinacci being friends, and former colleges that helped a little blossom the deal Disney has with Playstation/Sony. They promoted the shit out of Force awakens all over PSN along with Disney Infinity deals. So it must be a good relationship if Disney is going with Sony for not just one property.

Where did I say the marketing deals meant exclusivity? I'm talking about a good relationship with Disney that PlayStation has had more generations outside of PS4. It's something that has built up over time. And with that like I said there are partnerships with company's and alliances with people who worked for different companies that could or is helping DISNEY/MARVEL make other decisions on games/content they want to produce.

Disney could go to Activision and have them make another Marvel Ultimate alliance. But as it is right now they are going to see how Spiderman game pans out. If spiderman game is a hit marvel will start making more games. That has been something talked about on lots of media outlets is they want to make quality games again and not have sega published made games that are ass.

is it wrong that i was slightly peeved that this move wasn't a team up move you had to do with Batsu in the reserve?

Would Capcom still try to find reason why Megaman wouldn't work?

I have to wonder, say they wanted to throw in Classic Megaman to make up for his absence in 3. Would they try and incorporate his Smash look/gameplay? Or would they bring back his original MvC moveset, cheerful voice and all?

Daily reminder that MvC3 is anime

What does that even mean?

Edit:

Just have the third character also chuck a fireball? Not that hard.

Should probably read my post more thoroughly.

I kind hate when someone is told something in confidence and then they just let it loose on the internet because of the anonymity. Kind of a shit thing to do, especially if it not something like whistle blowing or nefarious.

But leaks are the bread and butter of Neogaf. What would we do if we couldn't speculate on rumors and leaks? We'd have to talk about actual games.

I hope they use Unreal Engine 4 if it's true and try and get it back to the MVC1 style of animation. Although MVC3 was good I found the style of graphics underwhelming compared to its predecessors. If they release this next year and with more content and support for SFV it's going to be an exciting time to be a Capcom fighters fan again.

I think "anime fighting game" has to do with the fast focused and flashy exaggerated moves gameplay, not actually being based in anime.

Kof and street fighter aren't "anime fighting games", Guilty gear is.

Yeah I remember people saying that for Smash 4 (especially with the likes of Shulk and the FE characters being "So Anime", that's what I thought of when I saw that post. I was more confused than anything else. Like, is that becoming more of a thing now?

What, the one where you brought up an issue and then admitted it wasn't an issue?

Lighten up pal.

Whoa hey, let's not fight here or anything. I was only contesting that "throwing a third character to do a random move" would sort of ruin the Rival Schools reference and I was trying to explain to the other poster, who said he wasn't really familiar with Rival Schools how something like that could be feasible for 3-on-3 while staying "true" to the series. Halfway through that post I remembered Project Justice added 3-on-1 moves, so yeah, I guess there's really no problem. But when you just quote the first few words of my post, it makes it look like you didn't read my post much at all.

Phew, all this hype has me feelign light headed, I need to ly dow now.
