That brings up another good point. If Capcom missed the boat for Marvel's change-of-heart for the launch roster but are able to cash in on it for DLC, they may want to leave the door open for the likes of Wolverine to actually come back.

It's only a guess because we'll know when the game is revealed (if it exist)
But it's almost sure to say that it will be MCU focused.
Him, Captain Marvel, Star-Lord, Black Widow, & Vision are basically locks. Ms. Marvel, Ant-Man, & at least someone from the Inhuman Royal Family are also pretty likely.
That's assuming that Capcom's able to cash in on the change-of-heart at all. For all we know, the contract could have been made in a way where it can't be amended from a character perspective until it's up for renewal. But yeah, if Capcom is able to get the Fox characters in as DLC but no the base roster, Wolverine's probably gonna be first.

If they keep Jill for the next game, I think Capcom will go with the BSAA incarnation (Lost in Nightmares) or a new updated look if she's one of the old characters to show up in RE7.

Agreed. Highly unlikely such a thing would happen, but I would like to see SF's picks limited to three, as well. Unchecked, they'd be just as bad as Marvel's mutants. At least Haggar got in instead of Zangief, for a change of pace (even if I did miss Alex from TvC).
