I assume it's that or in this post apocalyptic world ellie found love and her partner was killed by the fireflies and shes going for some revenge and joel isn't dead (or he died a long time before)

Joel was the self insert power fantasy so killing that would be bothersome for a lot of people. They couldn't kill Drake but they're gonna punish the shit out of Joel. Make it brutal ND.

Nah. I preferred Joel's rough and tough gameplay. His brutal melee is not something they can do with Ellie and I loved beating the shit out of people with bricks

I'm curious if we'll have female enemies to kill. It'd be nice to really diversify the enemies in that regard

Just curious why they did call it The Last Of Us Part II and not The Last Of Us 2 (something similar to Half-Life 2 episodes or Final Fantasy XIII sequels)? Maybe because they are still starring the same characters from the first game and that one day they will do a TLOU2 with newer characters.

He explained that, he said he wanted both games to combine in a way to tell a big story instead of this being a typical sequel.

We were surprised it stayed under wraps for this long. We were really nervous.

Lots of interesting discussion and things to clarify here - but we're keeping quiet until we start to show more. Sorry! :)
 
Hope at the end of the game Elle is killed by some other character that has more reason to kill than her or something

they should do that with some NPC where you see their story along the way

need more games where there's a revenge story but the main character still gets fucked in the end
 
I'll be pretty disappointed if they just have Ellie go through a similar arc that Joel did. Seems like too obvious an angle.

Honestly, I'm kinda disappointed they're even continuing the story at all since I think The Last of Us is a god damn great singular story.
 
Don't know if anybody has noticed it yet but the damn pegheads moved ever so slightly when she tunes her guitar. Amazing.

Edit: Also the string vibrations looked real.

He was talking aboit how Joel sees her as an equal now and how they had to think about how they will show that when they are interacting in the game together.

Edit: I was mistaken. He was actually talking about the pittsburg part of the first game. Mu bad.

What part of the post confused you?

Did you think TLOU had engaging puzzles? Did you think the laughable bloaters was good enemy design? Did you think the most effective strategy to dealing with Clickers was to slowly crouch walk around them engaging?

It also isn't hugely controversial to state that UC4 has serious pacing issues.
