Interested only if it follows up on Prometheus, and the lore and direction that film set. If it's more of a straight Alien remake or reboot, I'll get around to it one day I guess

Fassbender's David is a full cast member so it's certainly still a follow-up to Prometheus, just with more of a horror vibe like the original film. I do hope they keep the amazing visuals of Prometheus though, as opposed to going entirely with the aesthetic of Alien.

Covenant ship Described as "large and flat" being sent to colonize a new world. Seems like a lot of the crew and people onboard are coupled?
General consensus from the trailer and footage is it looks like it's a full blown horror movie. "Tense, terrifying, thrilling and gore", "throwback to Alien and Aliens".

It's a slower rendition of one of his classics apparently. Covenant also looks more aesthetically to the Nostromo. Very gritty and grimey.
Fox is supposed to make an announcement about the trailer later today but it'll be screening before Assassin's Creed in theaters.

Probably not. Fox PR said they'll be making some kind of announcement about the trailer today and well, remember Prometheus? They did daily countdowns with 30 second clips for the teaser trailer. lol

Then I started rattling off sci-fi films in my head. And took until like the mid-20s for Prometheus to show up.

I'm confused.
How would the baby Xenomorphs know which direction to burst out of? All we've ever been shown in the previous Alien movies were them bursting out from the front. I mean, wouldn't they actually be able to burst from the body in any direction? Why would it require a new alien to burst from the back??

I actually don't hate Prometheus. I hate the script for Prometheus. Everything else about the film outside of the script is stellar.
But the notion that it's one of the best four sci-fi films in the last 27 years is hilarious.

I can't even remember the time I entered a Prometheus-related thread. This is the first time in a while, actually. I've been trying to stay dark on Alien: Covenant, after the Prometheus trailer spoiled pretty much the entire movie last time.
