If they do this, they could just add a scene of the bros camping and seeing the sunrise without Noctis, like someone on this thread suggested a few pages a goThey seem to be heavily invested in fan feedback and if they get enough people asking for clarification, i see it happening. Maybe as a game update or just in some blog post.
I imagine Gladio, Ignis and Prompto DLC will take place in the ten year gap.
Ah, I must have missed this. My mistake.
It hard to notice as it subtle Noctis slips it on while camera is focused on the new outfit reveal
90% of the story in the game I've gotten from this thread... and half of what's posted in this thread seems to be wrong. ugh
how's someone gonna say Prompto's not an MT? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANMIoim_i0o&t=1h46m50s we're supposed to know the translator's apparently fucked up without looking up the japanese script or something?
One line? It's a mountain.Again, the Japanese VA flat out says the reveal is solely that he's from Niflheim. He is not an MT and I can't believe this is actually a thing. Y'all are taking one line in the English VA, "I'm one of them", misinterpreting it and running wild against all other evidence.
One of them means from Niflheim. That is it.
ExactlyPrompto is an MT in the sense that he was experimented on (remember, MTs are made out of people who were taken out of villages to transform them into daemons) but with the twist that he is also from Niflheim, since he was the son of the head engineer of the empire. He escaped the experiment camps when he was young and traveled to Lucis.
So:
He is human.
He was born in Niflheim.
He is just like one of the MTs, he was experimented on in order to turn him into a daemon and serve as a soldier.
And this doesn't contradict any of the scenes and what we see of him in any FFXV related media.
One line? It's a mountain.
1) Prompto has serial codes that can open the doors
2) Adryn says in Chapter 13:
"The infantry units you callously dub "MTs" all began as babes in this very facility. Imprinted with serial codes and incubated until they were strong enough to fight. What a pity. Innocent souls fated to suffer...at the hands of a foreign king. Well, not so "MT" after all, are they?"
3) You find a document that says:
With the mass production of magitek troopers having commenced in earnest, the Imperial Defense Council approves the implementation of the following reforms:
- The augmenting of biological materials through cloning
4) And Ardyn gives one more:
"The most fascinating tidbit about your dear Prompto....Turns out he's not empty either. He's got quite the "skeleton" in his closet."
5) Prompto says:
"So...MTs. They've got those codeprints. Just like I do. Yeah. So as it turns out...I'm one of them."
And later says
"Still...I can't change where I came from. What I am"
Exactly
Did anyone bother fighting that level 99 demon wall at the start of chapter 14? I was only level 38 so I was getting wrecked so I ran the fuck away and proceeded forward

Was this by the street? I don't think I remember encountering it...
Yep. There is a mountain of evidence he is. Not much he isn't. But to each their own.Pretty conclusive post, imo. He was an experimental clone or such that escaped before he could be transformed into a demon.
Also, does anyone have a link to the post-game main menu music?
There's a tunnel on the way to Galdin Quay. Bunch of Demon Walls spawn in it in the World of Ruin.
edit: obviously in World of Ruin it'd be the tunnel leading away from it.

Oh right, I remember seeing a bunch of random spawns but I didn't catch them all because iirc I'd already been picked up by Talcott and turned to my computer at that time while they were talking, lol. Least I'm pretty sure he picked me up before the tunnel.
I imagine Gladio, Ignis and Prompto DLC will take place in the ten year gap.
Talcott triggers on the road coming from the west that leads into the tunnel towards Duscae. I'm talking about the tunnel actually visible from Galdin Quay itself.

Does anyone remember that Tabata said the villain would surpass all ff villains? While Ardyn was very evil, he wasn't Kefka levels of bad. He's definitely not surpassed Kefka for me. Stabbing a helpless woman just makes him like Sephiroth to me but more evil. I don't feel he was quite up there in villainy
See this is the kind of exposition the game would benefit from with all of those cutscenes updates coming.
I'm excited that we'll be getting more Ravus exposition but I also feel that Ardyn got way more of a shaft. Sure, his whole reasoning for revenge is explained in the game, unlike Ravus' mysterious turn to the light side, but man the game would have benefitted hard from showing a lot more cutscenes of Ardyns backstory, like showing him 2000 years ago, healing people, absorbing demons, being a savior. It would ultimately make his character more tragic to see him cast out by the gods and turned into the monster we know now. I can only imagine the horrible feeling knowing what he went through, after clearly caring for humanity. That, imo, makes a much better villain. When it's someone you can clearly sympathize with, even though he's on a bloody quest for revenge.
Or even just showing him interacting with the Emperor and his cronies...
The outline of the plot of Versus XIII too! Someone hold me! T_TUrgh the leak mentioning older iris design was done and in the game and old lestallum was complete

Reposting from the other thread...FUCK MY LIFE!!!!
Tell us everything you know about Versus
The game centered about death, ghosts and hallucination/dreams. Noctis killed the female protagonist before the game started but he didn't remember. Ardyn was Noctis ancestor and he was responsible of the crystals disappearing over time (the only one left was Lucis crystal). Regis died in front of Noctis because his bodyguards betrayed him. The protagonists had to leave the capital because their nation lost the war.
The game didn't focus on summons that much (they still existed) and instead there were actual gods which didn't appear physically. One of the gods was the main antagonist of the first FF game. Each nation was inspired by a different capital of the world. The empire was using ghosts as weapons. Ravus wanted to kill Noctis for having killed her sister. The game ended in another dimension which was supposed to be their version of the after-life.
It's hard to remember every detail.
This actually sounds fucking amazing T_T
You're supposed to know that Prompto and Noct grew up together. You're supposed to know that Prompto's biological father was a researcher for the empire. You're supposed to know that he lusts after everything with boobs and talks about his future children.
You're not supposed to throw away an entire backstory because you interpret "I'm one of them" to mean he is a daemon robot made in the mold of a fat kid, who lost weight after finding a dog to be friends with a lonely prince. I don't think the Japanese VA is required for you not to make that leap, though it is available none the less.

The thing about Prompto's reveal is that I'm personally questioning how he escaped/etc. who was his family in Insomnia etc etc
Ardyn is like a great combination of Kefka and Vayne.Or even just showing him interacting with the Emperor and his cronies...

Yeah they should give us a flashback episode in which you control Prompto escaping from the Niflheim facilities that sorts of plays like a survival horror game, you have to hide from the MTs, you have no powers so you can't fight... I think most of us would really love that
That may or may not be the case. However, they certainly went through a lot of trouble to make it difficult see, so they clearly did not intend to player to see anything at all. I'm assuming they stylized it just a bit in case someone found a way. Kind of amusing to think that FF Type-0 had way more effort invested into this sort of thing than XV does (coincidentally, both are Tabata games).
Do those enemies even appear as hunts in the base game? I saw enemies that I never once hunted, and I did all of the hunts available before leaving the open world..
Yeah that too. I mean gameplay wise the story I think had the right enough length, but I just think it needed a lot more of that cutscene charm FF games are known for. I especially longed to see Ardyns backstory cutscened after seeing the concept art of him 2000 years ago. It's like, the ideas were there, but not enough time to animate the whole thing.
The emperor is a whole other problem. Since he's basically nonexistent in the narrative. I just don't know how in depth tabata and his team are willing to go to flesh this whole thing out more.
It didn't only need more cutscenes, it needed more "events" happening.
FFIV - IX are novel-sized
FFX-XIII are TV show-sized
FFXV is just movie-sized
The meat of the story and events sorrounding them have shrank a lot over time, it's happened with many others JRPGS since the PS2-era![]()
" What recent changes have they made?"
Nothing they've changed recently would be interesting. They've got a lot of Luna/Noctis flashbacks they made to be thrown around in the last act of the game and they don't know what to do with them really
