Final Fantasy XV SPOILER THREAD

Guys, I can't stop listening to the second part of Hellfire (Ifrit's battle music). This might be the single hypest piece of music I've heard in a FF game.

Whenever I read that track's title I just immediately start hearing "Hellfire, dark fire, now gypsy it's your turn" in my head. I can't be the only one.

I took a similar screenshot of Noctis hanging around two guns flying in mid-air in chapter 12(or was it 11?) which I guess were supposed to be held by some MTs.

Not sure if it's completely accurate, but this is the impression I've gathered:

Ifrit, in his hatred of humans, tried to eliminate them. I think he summoned the meteor that you see traces of all over Lucis, and that's why there are a bunch of references about how the shards still burn after all this time. The meteor gave rise to the starscourge, a daemon infection that spread across the population. (the only evidence I've seen of this was from a book in the game that described "ash-like particles" that seem to block sunlight and spread the scourge)

Ardyn Lucis Caelum was chosen by the other Gods to cure the scourge, and he did so by taking the infection into his own body to cleanse the people. Unhappy with his methods, the Gods turned against him, forbidding him from entering the afterlife and crowning a new chosen one, Izunia, who usurped Ardyn's name. Ardyn, in his bitterness, then chose to work with Ifrit to spread the scourge until the day that the "True King," Noctis, would rise to fight against him. There, he would end the Lucis line, or if killed, would finally have peace. In the end, he achieved both.

Apologies if that made no sense. I tried. :P

Man, this story is so awesome such a shame it's executed so poorly.

Its more that he was given the power of the oracle, but stronger, by shiva and bahamut. Then after absorbing so much scourge the crystal refused to anoint him. I think he was meant to be the chosen one, but the gods intervention screwed it up, but they are too arrogant to acknowledge it. They corrected their mistake by giving the oracle power to another family. This kept the king of light clean, and gave the people a healer. His relation to noct is still up in the air. He would have mentioned that noct was a false king if nocts family stole his name, especially when noct calls him a jester, which i think was a throwback to kefka, and to get off his throne.

Pray for some Ardyn DLC. I just want to know who Izunia was, and then I'll be content.

Would love that, everything needed more room to breathe in this game. Can you imagine they let you play a section with Ardyn after he reveals who be really is. That way you get an idea of what he actually went through. Could have at least shown a cutscenes or something. I think they went too far in the Western side for this FF.

Choosing the photo to take with you was a really, really nice moment. The entire ending was really well done, and although I liked the Luna and Noctis part (what's up with that?), I feel it was a sort of cop out and not really necessary. It's like they wanted to the best of two worlds in making Noctis develop through Luna's death and still give them both a happy ending.

Otherwise I loved the ending. I never like it when Final Fantasy goes into these dream-like spaces but I'm used to it by this point and it wasn't overused like previous titles.

So...any videos explaining the story?

-Raise Noctis' STR as high as possible. Wearing anything and use anything that will raise it up as high as it goes.
-Used Ignis Enhancement Tech
-Used Prompto Piercer Tech (for the hell of it)
-Gladiolus did his own thing.
-Eat food beforehand that does Crits or raises Attack Boost. I didn't have any ingredients for Crit foods so I just raised the Attack. (Still managed to cause Vulnerable 3-4 times, iirc)
-Use Magitek for unlimited MP so I could just Warp Strike like a mofo.

IF you're doing it right, each hit is 9999 and should be consistent and fast. Replenish MP often for Warp Strikes. Attack the hands, ignore the face.

Turn on a podcast or video and just repeat this over and over.

Ahh this probably would've made the biggest difference can't believe i didn't think of that. I tried Warp Striking at the beginning of the fight but stopped because it would sometimes whiff but I was probably just targeting the wrong spots.

Also should've ate some better food. I had just finished eating 1000 plates of spam musubi to level up ignis cooking to 10 and went straight to the adamantoise fight afterwards.

The jester line is what really makes me think/hope that Ardyn and Noctis are part of the same Lucis Caelum line. "Off my chair, Jester. The King sits there" is such an incredible line, and I think it would lose some of its power if it turns out that Noctis and his line are actually technically the usurpers.

Plus, you'd think Ardyn would make a bigger deal out of the fact that his entire line got replaced, but the most he says to Noctis in the fight regarding their relationship is that "at best, you're the second choice" or something like that.

What's the best machinery for Prompto?

Oddly enough machinery is really a "depends on your needs" weapon type.

Need to do status ailments to enemies: Bioblaster +
Need to do crowd control: Gravity well +
High dps for single enemy at range: Auto Crossbow +
Large aoe: Noiseblaster+ (though if you are past chapter 13, you can't get this)
High dps close range: Drillbreaker+
High aoe dps: Circular Saw+

In terms of standard blast damage the Drillbreaker+ is best followed by the noiseblaster +

So why do people hate Chapter 13 so much? It was a bit frustrating to have my attacks replaced by the ring and later the one sword, and I don't think the controls of the game really fit the survival horror thing but... I still loved the vibes of the chapter (it really made me want a full survival horror game where you play as a mage with limited and situational magic) and I had a lot of fun. It felt like I was in a horror Midgar. Plus the story reveals were great.

I don't HATE it. But it went on for too long, and the environment is extremely repetitive.

2 things for me really:
- It goes on way too long. It feels like it should be 3/4ths or 3/5ths its current length (it also feels like a bit of a slap in the face since the far more exciting chapters 10-12 are super short)
- The nemisis type enemy (the emperor) has a bit too much jank to him. I tried fighting him, only to realize he has way too much health and so I ran, but running from him didn't feel natural, ya know?

Yea that line really would lose its power. And your right ardyn would have played up the whole imposter king thing if noct wasn't a real lucis caelum. He played on every one of nocts insecurities, like not being able to save his dad or luna. Im sure he would have used that to get the upper hand if he could.

I agree with you. It wasn't really bad or difficult, and while I guess it went on for a while I think its length ultimately helped it since it ended up really cementing the atmosphere and feelings of isolation/dread. The lore dumps were nice too.

"It's... More than I can take..."

FUUUUCK. :(

I just watched the ending in Japanese for the hell of it, and boy am I glad I stuck with English. The lines are slightly different from what little I can understand (instead of "you guys are the best", I think he says something about how much he loves the guys) but the weirdest part is how Noctis's adult voice sounds. It's really deep and kinda goofy sounding.

Yeah, I highly prefer the "you are the best" line. It sounds less practiced, more spontaneous, like Noctis truly doesn't know what to say and just goes with that.

uh... yeah its there...

uhm how do I put this... uhmm...

expect the most crowded, disfunctional fights of your life down there. Bring magic, the ring of the lucii, and make use of aoe or crowd controll techs.

Focus on the Granade's first, don't bother with bombs.

Good luck if you get into the gauntlet room. More luck if you get in there more than once.

You might hate the game after you do this dungeon, so be warned.

It does have one of the best dungeon bosses though.

No idea how to get to the boss. I've done all switches and fought the waves 3 times. It was a nightmare but now I see no way to the boss. Been here 3 hours easily.....

Get Adamantoise to half health, "any yeah, almost there", I thought. The damn turtle does some move that knocks me .75 miles away, reset health. Thanks Obama!

It's such a shame we get so little time with Noct as an adult. He becomes the strongest character in the game by the end if you ask me.

I agree. Noct is amazing and I wish the World of Ruin segment had been longer. Let us explore that world a little, meet Cindy, Cid, Cor, Aranea and Iris again. Get some last minute bonding and character development and see how Noct reacts to everyone. Let characters say goodbye to him. Do some high level sidequests, etc.

one of the 4 blocks is the right way to go. Eventually you will meet up to point where you can pick one of 2 blocks to push through. Pick the one to the east.

Some of you guys need to sort out your chapters.

Chapter 14 is Blue Balls Dark World + Hammerhead Cage
Chapter 15 is the final chapter because FFXV

You are the one that needs to sort out their chapters. The main story is only 14 chapters long. Chapter 15 is postgame

I reaaaaally hope they add that sort of stuff. That would be so freaking awesome.
