Wow. What a goddamned dumpster fire.
Loved the movie but I lol'd at Vader living in Mordor for some reason. It was also kind of a bummer that JEJ's voice isn't as forceful now.
Other scene that didn't make into the final cut

Thought they said it was the T16, which is referring to the T16 Skyhopper. The ship that Luke used to bullseye womprats with back home.

Where do you got this from? I think its Mustafar, too, but I would like a confirmation somehowIt's the same planet he got burned on so it makes sense.
I heard T15, but I could be wrong.
That's not what he was asking. He wanted to know if it was digital makeup or full CGI.
Definitely worse. Only Episode 3 comes close to how crappy this was, but I think Rogue One was more boring.Really? I was looking forward to that one
Can't be worse than TFA brandon, it can't.

I always thought Vader had a dark sense of humor in the OT, and his line here seemed consistent with that to me.
"Don't act so surprised your highness, you weren't on any mercy mission this time" - Dripping with sarcasm.
"I find your lack of faith disturbing. As you wish." - Releases him as if to say that he's just messing around.
"Your powers are weak, old man." - Taunting Obi-wan.
His character in ANH seems consistent with someone who would playfully threaten an officer with a pun.

That Cruiser being able to push one Star Destroyer into another kinda annoyed and bothered me. That seemed like something that shouldn't happen, even in the Star Wars movies that kinda play fast and loose with physics/science.

Fuck me guys, this movie was just not good. First half was a chore and the intercutting of character introductions was not cool at all -- the only entrance that had weight was Vaders -- and let's be REAL here people, that was nothing but fan service. The only thematically consistent moment was a single dialogue moment with Diego Luna before they left for the mission, and the only cool action scene was at the last 60 seconds.
Am I taking crazy pills? The war scene, while very pretty, was entirely drab -- none of the characters had any wants or desires -- a key component to any action sequence (Vader *wanted* the data during his epic final scene, thus making it the only segment that mattered).
There are some fundamental storytelling devices that's missing, and don't get me started on the god damn plot contrivances.
I am so dissapointed. Gary Whitta, you were the chosen one!

Halfway into the movie...nothing interesting.
I thought that disabling it before hand was enough to make it believable. As in making it something that isn't normally possible.
Seems from the few impressions I'm reading in this thread is that the first half leaves to be desired, but once the action set pieces kick in, it's a fun ride?
The ship was literally named the hammerhead... What else would it be used for?

What the fuck are you doing posting on GAF?
Yup. It was one of my favorite parts tbh. There's quite a bit wrong with the movie but complaining about thr hammerhead is just lol worthy. Not to mention the engines and attitude control on the Star Destroyer had just been taken out. It was a brilliant move, actually.

But the rebellion is built on hope!Wait people didn't like Vader's choke line? There's no hope for some of you. My favorite part of the film.
What? I'm clarifying what he was talking about.Bro you musta been living in the final 3 minutes
So were there any other Rebels references I missed? At the base on Yavin IV I heard them calling for "General Syndulla", but that's all I caught.

A little surprised CGI Tarkin is not getting more guff in here. My brother and I both discussed it at great length after the movie, it was very distracting (so was the brief Leia CGI).

From /r/StarWarsLeaks:
- The Ghost can be seen in no fewer than four shots, the two from the TV spots, one on Yavin 4 the first time we visit it, and another space battle shot, from the perspective of Admiral Raddus' bridge.
- VCX-100 is said over the intercom, which is the model number of the Ghost.
- "General Syndulla" is said over the intercom
- Chopper shows up (only one I missed) reportedly in the scene where Mon Monthma is learning about the Scarif attack.
- Sato's CR-90, "Liberator", can be seen in two space battle shots. The clearest one is the shot of the TIEs striking Raddus' command ship.
- Hammerhead Cruisers
- Steve Blum (voice of Zeb) clearly continued his moonlighting as Imperial Stormtroopers.

Well the Star Destroyer was disabled by the Y-Wings and they are in the vaccum of space so a medium sized transport managing to slowly push it like that isn't that much of a stretch.

Tugboat in space!
