Vader at the end gave me goosebumps. The fear was real.
- why did they have to keep inventing new TIE fighters and AT-AT walkers? Doesn't this movie take place like 2 weeks before A New Hope? What's wrong with the OG trilogy designs?
Vader's dad joke is exactly the type of shit a grown-up Anakin would say. There's your continuity, nerds.
Yeah looks like it was for troop transport albeit empty lol. I actually liked it very much. I enjoy seeing new weapons and vehicles introduced even though they do not appear in the OTConsidering it wasn't all that important in the long run, I don't think any of that was necessary. But we'll agree to disagree.
That was an odd new AT-AT with the middle opened up. Troop transport? Cargo carrier?
That's a nice assumption. You're getting worked up dude, just because I've got Vader in my avatar didn't mean I can't be objective. It's ok to agree to disagree sometimes.
You have to wonder why they couldn't do shit about them until Luke used the rope trick if they can just blow them up.
But Anakin is dead.
Maybe they upgraded the armor after this. Lol. Who cares!
I haven't seen you around much in the SW threads so forgive me fire having my doubts about your assumptions. I've criticized the shit out of TFA during the course of the last year (among other SW films) and don't even know how I feel about R1 yet. And since you're apparently got nothing useful to add to this discussion I'm done conversing with you.Nothing about my post suggests me being "worked up".
I have read your posts on the subject of SW and you tend to do a lot of defense against criticism. That is why I don't expect objectivity from you.
Has nothing to do with "agreeing to disagree".
So from all the scenes in the early trailers and pictures that didn't appear in the final movie, did they just change the whole ending and added the space battle with the Rebel fleet? None of that was shown till much later in previews, and the way the plot was written, the Rebel fleet was kept away from the rest of the film cause of the shield gate stuff. It really felt like that the whole space battle was added after the fact, since in the original previews it appears the finale takes place on the beach itself, we see Jynn running with the data on the beach, and in Battlefront the whole point was to escape to a U-Wing and get away with the plans.
I think it's probably a good guess that a lot of the reshoots were targeted at the end of the film. There was some speculation about where this was going based on some material from TFA that ended up being completely wrong so its worth wondering if they originally planned to go in a different direction with the finale. The decision may have been made to nix expanding Rogue One's fiction in favor of having the ending tie directly into ANH, which they obviously decided to use the fleet for.
Hey let's get this thread back on track
TFA sucked
Toyyysssss obviously- why did they have to keep inventing new TIE fighters and AT-AT walkers? Doesn't this movie take place like 2 weeks before A New Hope? What's wrong with the OG trilogy designs?
For people who are wanting more development on Forrest Whitaker's character Saw Gerrera, watch these Clone Wars episodes:
A War on Two Fronts
Front Runners
The Soft War
Tipping Points
Lots of deep dive into his homeworld of Onderon and their tie into the Seperatist movement.
If you don't want to watch the episodes, here's the wookipedia that gives the details:

Im excited for the Han solo spin off tbh. Lord and miller are the perfect directors to make a fun Star Was movie.
I was under the assumption that the AT-ACT was a light weight version of the AT-AT so it didn't have the same shields and defenses as the normal AT-ATs have.
Seeing Alden Ehrenreich in Hail Caesar and knowing that Donald Glover is going to be Lando only cements my hype for that movie. Lord & Miller are geniuses.
The Visual guide spoils that the upcoming Geonosis Arc in SW rebels will include Saw.It's a fun arc and worth watching but he feels like a completely different character in this.
I see your point, in that in this film he used a pun, but I would argue in both instances Vader was still absolutely terrifying and imposing. He's in complete control and won't tolerate anyone trying to impose themselves on him.
"Apology accepted" points to how cold and calculating he is. How he won't tolerate failure.
"I hope you don't CHOKE...on your aspirations" is the equivalent of Arnold saying, "Stick around" after throwing a survival knife through an enemy as if he were a dart board.
Or saying "You're fired" before launching a bad guy hanging from a rocket on his plane.
There is a difference.

Yeah them in a western style buddy movie + chewbacca... its gonna be great.Seeing Alden Ehrenreich in Hail Caesar and knowing that Donald Glover is going to be Lando only cements my hype for that movie. Lord & Miller are geniuses.
It's a fun arc and worth watching but he feels like a completely different character in this.
I hope we get an extended version of this movie. It feels like a lot of things were left on the cutting room floor that could have expanded the characters.
He does, and I'm assuming we're going to get a lot of his character coming up in Rebels that go more into this change.
Dude lost a lot in the rise of the Empire, it was only a matter of time before he became this hardened.
I think that it's important to note that Donnie Yen's character is very obviously force sensitive but he is not a Jedi. They said that he belonged to an order of Temple Guardians that were obviously disbanded after the Great Purge.
This is what I got also. They are larger but mostly used for cargo transportation. Cool how the one who was empty folded in half when shot.
Then you add Emilia Clarke...
It's a fun arc and worth watching but he feels like a completely different character in this.
Behaving in what way? Until he went down the "unhand the girl" route, he was doing nothing but pan handling, using his skills like Daredevil to coach money out of people's pockets.Yeah that's what I mean, he isn't a Jedi of course but after a Purge like that it just isn't believable he is out in the open in a heavily Empire-controlled planet behaving like he does.
still trying to figure out what the 'changed lines' that got neonazi's riled up. nothing really screams out... well besides the whole premise of the movie is minorities and a woman taking down white dudes in white.
