"I find your lack of faith disturbing" is not a pun, it's just him straight up intimidating a guy. "Apology accepted, captain Needa" is a sarcastic comment, but a dark one, not a silly one. In this he's force choking a guy and saying "be careful not to choke on your ambitions". With emphasis on the word choke, in case we didn't get it. I was about to say "it's a Mr Freeze tier pun" but I see I've been beaten to the punch there.
You're going to see it a lot, because it's horrid.
But you at least acknowledge it's a bad line?

He looks basicly like the buddy of Jyn when he took his jacket of and had a wife whose name was almost like our Jyn Erso, so he is basicly in the movie.
But aren't the Clone Wars kinda pointless?

Attack of the Clones romance I can sort of try and forget. I can never get past "from my point of view the Jedi are evil" and "he killed the younglings"

They could have at least had the decency to kill off an unknown rebel agent in the opening scene and credit him as "Kyle Katarn" in the credits, but I see other film makers are not up to the high standards set by Snyder in his respect for the source material.

Apology accepted is quite silly and why should the fact that it's a pun or not matter? You're focusing too much on that one aspect.
Point is, dude has a dark sense of humor, he says morbid things that he believes are funny.
This squarely falls into this category and thus is entirely in character.

I used to be more lenient on Revenge of the Sith, but after I watched the prequels again before TFA... I found that even TPM was better. Don't think I'm ever watching the prequels again because they get worse every rewatch.

Well I feel like when people say TCW their not talking about the 'movie' but the actual series. Which honestly has higher highs than the entire movie series.
I can see why people would be annoyed, and I don't think that opinion is necessarily wrong, but I don't agree with it myself. The point isn't exactly the type of joke, or that the joke is funny (he is a dad after all), but more that he talks like that at all. If Vader didn't do that, he'd just be basically an angry robot. I like the idea that there's still a guy in there, and that the idea that Vader killed Anakin is a lie Vader told himself (as well as Obi-Wan), and it took Luke's presence for anyone to realize that there was still someone in there.
It's his personality. He's evil, he's dangerous, and he makes crappy evil jokes at times. It felt in line with how he was portrayed in the originals for me.
I think part of it is that people have been waiting for Vader's slaughter at the end of the movie for years, but there's more to him than that. I think you need that joke to balance out the horror that comes later. It's a movie with only a small amount of space for Vader (and I think not using him more was definitely the right choice and also not at all the choice I thought they would make), so it gets trickier to get the full spectrum of the character. He's not a complicated character, but an important one nonetheless. Possibly the most iconic Star Wars character of them all.
I think it needed to be there.
Yeah, that one's a bit out of place, too, but it's just your typical Mary Sue thing of taking the name from the author.
