Watch_Dogs 2 |OT| .HTML

Hey guys, just bought this game on sale. Planning on doing a stealth, no kill run.

Anything special or particular I should know about? I'm on OG ps4.

Do the Uber (Drivr) missions early on. This will help you get a feel for the city and earn a lot of cash early on.

Save up enough cash to get the quadrocopter (heli drone) and the stun grenade launcher. Focus on upgrades for drones and hacks.

For upgrades, focuses on the RC upgrades that let you give you better enemy scanning. For weapons, focus on the ones that let you reload the stun gun faster and make it more effective against armoured enemies.

Use the quadrocopter to quickly recon areas test to find the right height where enemy AI won't notice it. Use the jumper for hacks that require physical access. If an enemy notices it - recall it quickly instead of letting them shoot it and you won't have to wait for a cool down to reuse it.

Also doors that you need to hack to open can also be temporarily locked by turning off their power. There have been one or two times where I have run through a door and locked it behind me so an enemy couldn't follow me - it may help in a pinch.

Is there an achievement for non-lethal? Going to be gutted if I miss that.

Have disabled online, so won't get the achievements for that. HATED online in the first game.

The only stealth achievement/trophy I could find is:

Knock You Out (10 points)
Do a stealth take down on 30 enemies

Enjoying the game so far (bought 12 days of Christmas). It's actually quite challenging to do stealth which I like.

Side note: the dirt bike races displayed how whack the driving physics for them are. Really bizzarre.

Got the game on the Flash Sale yesterday for PS4. I just played a little bit but I'm quite enjoying it. I loved Watch Dgos 1 and got Platinum for it at the time. The only thing I'm not liking so far is how you access the weapon wheel. Pressing up on the d-pad is bad during combat. I liked how it was before with L1 on WD_1. Is there a way to change this?

Seriously the cops is this game are farked. No matter how many you kill and far you run they just appear out of nowhere right next to you half the time.

Finished my Platinum a few weeks ago and I'm still feeling that draw to come back to the game. If anything just to drive around the city more. Probably one of the first open world games to get me to do that.

As wacky as the driving can be it almost works in its favor when it comes to the dirt bikes. I loved driving them around.

Yeah I hate how when they're chasing me and I climb over a wall on some train tracks or whatever they just randomly spawn on the other side even though they have zero reason to be there from a logical point of view.

I think the cop system is one of this game's biggest flaws.

Just witnessed my first great AI moment. I was walking down a street and saw a gay couple proposing to each other. They saw me and asked me to take a picture of them. I took out my camera, they hugged and cheered in front of it.

The AI in this game is amazing.

Heh, I put a lot of time into the game and never saw this.

isn't that just scripted?

isn't that just scripted?

It's as scripted as the many radiant events in Red Dead.

I had a similar event with a guy proposing to a girl, she said yes but they dind't ask to take pictures. I already had the selfie cam out and the guy was .. not happy .. I managed to snap him in the moment.

Finished and got the plat. Loved this so much. The character design was awesome, Marcus was one of the best characters I've played as in recent memory, the artwork, stories, everything hit right with me. The sound design was excellent as well, it really felt like I was there. Everything felt very real. The drones felt so good control wise too.

But the first WD wasn't a good game in the first place ..

Believe it or not some people, like the guy you replied to, actually liked the first game. The main reasons people did was mostly because of the gunplay, controls and gang hideouts/convoys which is completely not why WD2 is good. So it's not like they built on the foundation of the first and just fixed all the flaws, it's basically a whole new game.

oh so there's no convoys? that was one of my favorite parts.

Kind of annoying when the audio transmissions cut out for no apparent reason. Second time it happened to me where I'm just walking around, one of the deadsec peeps are talking, and suddenly it decides to stop playing mid-sentence. Weird.

Has happened to me a few times too, noticed it happens if I try to jack a car or something during a conversation most often.

i really want to play through the game, i played for about a half hour, but first i want to finish my backlog. i want to be able to take my time with this game since i feel like i'll really enjoy it.

Did you get the photobomb achievement yet? I was doing a scoutx selfie and got 2 people doing stuff behind me, happened to me a couple more times at random spots too, awesome that it's not scripted and hilarious at the same time.

I really can't get into this game. I love it's look and interface but the driving feels like I'm attached to a piece of wet bread being blown across some thick ice and there doesn't seem to be any other way of getting around early on to the difference mission points.

Yeah, I got photobombed within a few mins of starting the game, the first area after you wake up has a few people around. I was just testing the game controls and got the trophy when I had the selfie cam out lol.

And for people making funny poses .. this is my favorite one yet, this is one of the scoutX locations "Famous wedding photographer" i think, the groom and bride were dancing, the groom let the bride go to pose for the camera:

side note: I think the selfie cam shots are being rendered at lower than Pro's in-game resolution, there's way too many jaggies there.

AI isnt perfect, haha. Had two New Dawn guards suddenly start on each other, I was trying to get through a door they were guarding and one of them chased the other one off saying "I'm sorry, you can't be here. You need to leave the property" - I just snuck in after that.

Bought it day 1 and finally just finished it off today . Ending was pretty weak but overall I loved the game .

Played the game only buying one assault rifle but barely used it :)

Looking forward to a watchdogs 3

It's way better to ride motorbikes.
And some cars drive better than others.
Turbo upgrade is a must.

Did anyone jump into this after completing FFXV? ill probably have put in 50+ hours in that and I may fire this up next.

how does it compare? obviously its night and day context wise and gameplay but in terms of open world fatigism....would it set in quite hard? would this be a better experience? or a let down coming from FFXV's world? should I let it simmer for a bit still?

I kinda did, 65 hours of FFXV and 15 hours of The Last Guardian, then started this baby, it is a great game to play coming from those other 2 IMO.

I got this game for Christmas, and played it for about 8 hours last night. I did some multiplayer but I was mostly just exploring the world. I'm having way more fun with this game than the crown jewel of open world GTA5. I think a lot of it has to do with only one protagonist, but the gameplay is spot on as well. I just crafted the drone last night and can't wait to start again. There's so many options to do and anybody looking to pick this game up it's definitely worth it IMO.

got this for christmas too, but i have mixed feelings for my first impressions. i don't think the game starts on a good note, it's a bit of an awkward tutorial mission that doesn't really teach you a lot of the mechanics properly. i do love how the next mission works though, simply just find any store, grab some trousers and head on over to the base on the other side of the city - it was just really cool to be let loose on the city like that. i feel like this probably should have been the first introduction you have to the game.

also unsure how i feel that narratively the game starts with you as a newcomer yet literally a mission later marcus is best buddies with the main crew immediately - i genuinely felt like i had missed some missions. i understand that they recruited him and they had that big beach party thing but it still seems so weird that he's talking and interacting with everyone like he's known them for years.

i think i've ran into a few weird glitches already too. during one of those line puzzle things the game wouldn't allow me to press the hack button on anything part way through the puzzle - it wasn't a case of me attempting to press the wrong nodes, it just wasn't working on any of the puzzle pieces. quitting out and reloading the save solved the problem. also, is it weird that a lot of restricted areas that i'm running into are basically empty? this has happened in quite a lot of these already.

overall it kinda feels like i'm missing something, like i wasn't paying attention to something specific in the opening that was key to better understanding the mechanics and the narrative in the first few hours. i feel like i don't quite have a hang on how everything works yet and that i need to experiment a bit more in the missions to see if i can get a grip of it all. still, despite my problems i'm quite enjoying myself. i love the city so far, both visually and that you can fully explore and invent ways to reach new areas in it, and the pedestrian interactions are great. it isn't perfect and can be quite awkward at times but i like how you can navigate the environment with marcus too, feels like assassin's creed lite and a hell of a lot better than trying to navigate spaces with characters in gta5.

so yeah, hopefully this properly clicks with me soon. right now i might put it down for a little bit to try titanfall 2 since i got that for christmas too.

Yeah, the game doesn't ease you into its mechanics or really holds your hands in the earlier missions. It doesn't even have a mission where it properly introduces the drone or jumper, the game just assumes that you know you have them or how to get them and know how to use them.

Similar to the narrative it sets up the premise at breakneck pace and then pushes you out the door saying "GOOD LUCK BUDDY AND HAVE FUN".

Overall I think it's best if you just keep in mind that the game is built around the use of the drone and RC jumper. And you should consider the game a sitcom-esque TV show where every main or sidemission is a standalone event. There's a bit of overarching stuff, but almost everything is standalone.

The story and missions in this game just feel disjointed, it's one of the main issues. It never feels like you're progressing towards something or there's an escalation in the stakes. That's another thing that the first did better. Even though the story was crap at least it felt like all the events tied together and there was urgency to the plot.

I won this game after buying a GTX 1070. I liked the first mission then went to open world. I'm impressed how this game has a metacritic greater than 50.
Lot of performance issues and the game has a lot of bugs. Imagine bugs in a party. Physics are crazy, everything appears to be made of paper. Vehicle collision always results in crazy behavior. I was able to walk in the air near golden gate. I saw a line of boats horning like they were in heavy traffic. All of this in less than 2 hours. What a mess. At least I laughed a lot...XD

If this game is an improvement I don't even want to think how Watch Dogs was...

PS: At least water was beautiful.

That's honestly what I like about the game so far. The game starts with a very simple premise (hackers who take it upon themselves to use their abilities to "inform the public") along with a fairly light-hearted tone which allows for a lot of spontaneity in terms of mission premises. I like how it allows them to do a group of missions tackling their in-game Scientology equivalent while another takes on Big Data in a smart home company. The light-hearted nature of it also allows side missions like helping the underdog University win their go kart race tournament or
leaking an Ubisoft trailer
to fit in without feeling out of place in an otherwise super serious story. As a result, I don't necessarily mind if the story doesn't build up to something immediately. It feels like the Deadsec crew is figuring things out as they go, and I'm enjoying the moments and having fun being along for the ride. I like to think something like the Haum missions start because Wrench randomly stumbles upon the CEO interview and is both annoyed and amused at the dig at Deadsec, rather than some carefully thought out and multi-facted long-term plan to take down Big Data. To me, it makes the story feel a bit more natural especially for the group of characters involved.

I fell off the original Watch Dogs about 4-5 hours in, but one thing that made it tough for me to get into was just how serious the game seemed to be taking itself. I stopped early in so for all I know perhaps Aiden Pearce developed a sense of wit as the game progressed. Though an article on Eurogamer regarding Watch Dogs 1 didn't do much to convince me otherwise. Overall, I am enjoying Watch Dogs 2's tone a lot more, and I feel a lot of that has to do with the variety of missions I've run into so far.

Just started playing on PC. When I'm first at the DeadSec HQ and you have to open the research app my game freaks out and just hangs, so I'm pretty much stuck and can not progress.
anyone know of a fix?

Maybe it's because I'm doing a non-lethal playthrough but the missions revolving around
Horatio's kidnap and murder
seem so off-kilter to the rest of the game.

I'll just spoil my explanation just in case...

Firstly, it comes out of nowhere. You just get a message saying they can't find Horatio. I know most of the missions in the game start in this way but when you're planning on killing a character then it seems a pretty soft way of starting things off. Then, his death happens almost immediately in the mission. It's like, "Horatio's missing, he was kidnapped here, go to this house, oh, he's bleeding out and now he's dead".

You get absolutely zero emotional feedback from the rest of your group as you robotically perform missions revolving around the Teczas. Then, when it comes to the missions where you take out the Lieutenants and Pablo the Skinner, I feel like the game is really pushing the player to commit murder.

In the end, I just did the standard shock traps to all the targets, including Pablo. This of course made the narrative even dumber as all they did was get knocked out as Marcus goes "That was for taking the life of my friend".

Anyway, the whole thing feels sort of tone-deaf towards the rest of the game and I feel like it was only included to involve another faction in DeadSec's shitlist. The whole thing could be removed from the game and I doubt it would make a difference. I've really enjoyed the other mission setups otherwise. Anyone else feel that way about these missions?

I'm trying to stream this on PC using OBS.

I can stream it just fine, just not in fullscreen.

Anyone know how to stream uplay games in fullscreen? Monitor capture doesn't seem to pick up uplay like it picks up steam.

By monitor capture, you mean just what's on screen? With r6 seige, i have to choose to stream an exe or windowed program that turn full screen on obs.

I agree felt really out of place and strange my theory
horatio played a much smaller role but they added him in to help with the group dynamic later so they realized they had to kill him
