What system are you buying Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild for?

IGN is claiming Wii U version runs better than Switch version right? That's one concern. Another is buying a console for one game when nothing of note will be available until the holiday.

can't sit through that video you linked, anything specific? cause no one else has said that, far as i've seen

I will, so I can CEMU it.

good luck with that, im looking forward to it in march myself

But when they drop the price of the Switch to $200 during the holidays, then I'm saving money by waiting.

this's be cool to see but everyone said that about the WU and that's not what we saw there either

I might buy one way down the line for collection purposes, but nah I'm getting a Switch and the Switch version at launch. Not really taking any chances on that performance. Even if it doesn't look very solid on the Switch itself, probably runs better than the Wii U.

I'll be getting it on WiiU, so long as my console still works. I haven't switched it on for nearly 18 months and I've heard horror stories of others doing the same only to find it won't boot up.

I'll try it next month before pre-ordering the game.

I dont like what is happening with the Switch at all, but in still debating getting it at launch due to the WiiU trade in deal at GS. I could trade in my WiiU and games that I have no interest in using again and just get the Switch and Zelda at no extra cost.

I will most likely get it on Wii U and get it on Switch much, much later if the purchase of a Switch becomes more attractive than it is now.

I'm that crazy collector guy who pre ordered it. Still kicking my self for not getting the Gamecube version of Twilight Princess and jujst got the Wii version.

I also pre ordered the Switch, regular edition of Zelda and the Master edition.

I've sold my Wii U during the Christmas shopping season and made decent money off it. So for me Switch is the only option. But I'll be honest, if I still had a Wii U, I think I'd get that version.

I'm not actually that against the switch. Maybe I'm older but nintendo would need to do a lot more to lure me in at launch- more games and that price point. I just got a new TV with HDR and 4k resolution. In australia, the switch is 469- I managed to get a PS4 pro for just cheaper than that. I also picked up an Xbox one s for under 300. I'Ve got a wii u.

Not only does this lack nintendos usual innovation in games, it just lacks anything new I'm interested in- splatoon 2? I've got the first on wii right now. Zelda? I'll pick up on wii u. Mario kart? I'd have to wait till after launch to pick up a port.

Really the only game that excited me was Zelda and I can already get it. I want to want a switch but it just hasn't happened yet. Hopefully by the time it does it'll be cheaper.

This is where I'm at. And yeah, maybe it's age or just years in the hobby, but I've become exceedingly patient and discerning as time goes on. Right now, the Switch isn't an attractive package to me based primarily on its price( without a pack-in of sorts), and not enough single player experiences of interest for me to plunk that much down. The latter is a particularly important point, because I have no intention of paying for online. I've managed to enjoy the last 3 years of console gaming with that approach, but this will neuter certain experiences on Switch, namely something like Splatoon. So there's going to have to be enough stellar single player content exclusive to Switch to take the plunge. Mario Odyssey is definitely on the horizon, but Zelda BOTW is available to me on Wii U, which further dilutes any need for the Switch right now. Mario Kart 8? Even though the Switch will have the definitive version, I do own it on Wii U so that game wouldn't drive a console purchase. Other titles like Xenoblade 2 are a ways off.

I have no doubt that the system will produce enough games that dictate that I purchase one eventually. The Wii U, for all its flaws, produced some stellar content and I'm going to enjoy playing those games this year to tide me over, with a careful eye towards the Switch.

Wii U. I want it at launch but I won't be able afford a Switch then (and the launch lineup is terrible).

I got a Wii and DS at launch, but not a Wii u or 3ds until they dropped in price, for what it's worth.

Getting it for Wii U. Don't have any plans of getting the Switch in the near future (or maybe ever).

I'll be picking it up on Wii U. The online service portion has left a bad taste in my mouth, and I don't see a compelling reason to get the Switch as of right now. Once some software starts coming out for it, and maybe with a price drop, sure.

I really am looking forward to Breath of the Wild however so Wii U it is.

Been waiting for the Wii U version for so long, so I'll go with that even if Switch version would be better. I'm not going to buy Switch at launch (like I never buy consoles at launch, because the price goes usually down quite quickly or there's some sales like when I bought Wii U).

I'm honestly thinking about pre-ordering the Wii U version so I don't have to worry about finding a copy due to a possible NES Mini situation.

Not buying a Switch just to play this game.

If didn't get a Switch pre-order in within two seconds of the listing at the different retailers then the only way to play Zelda BotW on March 3 seems to be on the Wii U.

I'm really mad they're not using the Wii U Tablet at all.

I'd love a map, or inventory screen like we had in Twilight Princess or Wind Waker. Nintendo is really screwing over the Wii U just so it has nothing over the Switch version.

I'm going to wait on picking up this version until I see reviews/gameplay. It'll be the first Zelda game I don't pick up day one.

Wait they are not giving any features for the tablet screen? It's just gonna be off the whole time? Is this confirmed?

I can't even use it to type onto the touch screen to name my horse?

I will be.

If I can secure a Switch pre-order (guess I'm a noob and assumed 1pm PDT 1/13 would be okay to find one) I'll get BotW for that. If I can't, I'll play BotW until Mario releases and pick up a switch then.

I pre-ordered my copy today. Going to wait quite a while on a Switch. I have a big backlog to whittle down first. On that note, Amazon says 3/31 right now. I don't pre-order very often. That'll change to 3/3, right?

Buying it on WiiU. Day one.

Yeah, same here. I've had mine preordered since last June. I will not not-play the new Zelda game on Wii U (which I bought specifically for Zelda games).

I don't know if I'd believe any performance issues. Zelda's one of Nintendo's biggest thingies. I doubt they'd allow it to be released in a state that is less than fantastic (on either system after comments today).

I've had the Wii U version preordered for awhile now with one of those 30% off deals.

I probably won't get a Switch for 1 or 2 games.

I may have to, but we'll see.

Even if I eventually got the Switch version down the line I don't know if I'd ever have time to play BOTW a second time.

I don't get consoles at launch, and I really want to play BOTW as soon as it's out, so I'm just getting the Wii U version. Though if Xenoblade 2 really is coming out this year, I might pick up a Switch in the holidays with Mario and double-dip with BOTW after trading in.

It's funny that a couple months ago there was only a few dozen that said were going to get it on wiiu and that the game was a killer app and no one had a wiiu to begin with... Now, even the Switch has an awful launch line up cause Zelda is also on wiium

Well, i will still get it on wiiu. Wont get the Switch at all.
