Edit - I can screen cast just fine, but the photo sharing plus app just doesn't work for me. When I try to connect to the tv wifi it fails, so the IP that you're supposed to visit won't work either. The Bravia signal goes from full to zero as it tries to connect, then back to full again.

Maybe I'll test it later with other phones.

I haven't had to time to play xv either to test my HDR settings.

I would grab the Samsung 8000 if you can. With the Super Bowl coming, I would wait till then when the prices drop quite a bit. I prefer a larger screen over a 43inch. Can't really go wrong with the Sony or Samsung.

Mine is a 2015 1st generation Android TV. The TV is fine itself, just the smart tv features are quite slow.

I can't see one of their flagship TV's being slow with the Android TV. My X800D is perfectly fine. For gaming, it seems the lag is not that great.

I am using the 49" X800D. It's by no means lightning fast but it doesn't run like shit either. I feel good using the apps. I'm not sure how android games like FFIX would run on it. They are available to buy.

Say a right click on the desktop, file, etc to bring up the context menu, it'll blink, sometimes part of it, sometimes the whole menu.
Now if I open a folder, the window itself is fine. If I open two folders, the blue "file" area on the top left blinks as well, in both windows.I can replicate both of these things every time.

I suppose this is just a windows thing, as I do not get any other graphical issues anywhere else. Anyone else have the same thing?

And I'm holding off from upgrading GPU drivers because nvidia has been fucking up for the past year+ and the recent drivers have been terrible.

I know there is an issue with Win 10. It has been discussed here recently. I am a Mac user so I don't recall all the details. Search this thread you should find some info and how to fix it.

I'm getting a bit of a weird annoyance with my XD80 49 inch. When I watch Netflix or use other apps, it doesn't happen but when using my PS4 it happens all the time.

I'll be busy playing a game or watching a Blu Ray and the input information in the black bar at the top of the screen will randomly appear, showing HDMI 2 and the resolution, etc. With no input from me. Sometimes the sound will actually cut out for 2-3 seconds as well.

Any ideas what could be causing it? It's very distracting when it happens and also inadvertently killed me during a Bloodborne boss fight when I couldn't see my HP anymore, which isn't exactly ideal.

Silver or black bezels is the difference.

As to the speed of Android TV, this model has updated/upgraded cpu compared to older 2016 models.

Yes 49 inch, in terms of games input lag in minimal (previously had an LG 850V) and the HDR looks good in games too, best ones really are R&C and also Elder Scrolls. But really the best HDR example I've seen on the set was the Grand Tour show on Amazon Prime. 4K/HDR in the desert and driving and night, those headlights just shone through the screen.

Currys had it at £579 the other month, Amazon and Currys both now have it at £629

Another great thing with it is that it has an IR blaster built in, meaning we can now shut our YouView box away and just point at the TV for controls. Something I didn't know the TV came with but is a great addition in tidying the house up. Also being an Android TV I've got Kodi installed too for media purposes.

Depending how far you sit by the TV may make your decision easy. If your really close like 5 ft go 43, if over go 49" Scratch the X700D, go with the 800D. I have the 49 inch, and it looks great.

Thanks It's more like 8 ft for me. Currently I have a 42" and think it's fine, but I'd still like to get a bigger one when upgrading (without any real reason though), so maybe 49" is the way to go. Still not sure how big the image quality difference between the X700D and X800D is with SDR content, price difference is about 150€ for me.

People have different priorities ultimately, but the Sony XBR43X800D hands down.

You're comparing an IPS (49X800D) to a VA (KS8000) though. There are no known IPS panels in any of the 4 sizes offered for the KS8000.

Rtings.com rated it's color gamut as really great, just behind LG OLEDs from 2016. It's very good in that regard.

yes im getting the exact same issue on my 43" XD8077
i was getting the banner appear whilst playing games quite a lot, but only realised a day or so ago that the audio would also cut out sometimes aswell (i normally use headphones)

happens on my ps4 pro while playing games.
i think i recall it happening on my xbox one aswell, which is on a seperate socket hdmi1. although i havent played it much since getting this new 4k tv.

if we're both getting this problem then its possibly a firmware issue?

maybe its our hdmi cables? not enough bandwidth for the 4k signal?
(im using the cable that came with the ps4 pro. ive just ordered an ibra pro gold from amazon uk to test if its really that issue)

Bought mine from Amazon and absolutely love it. Little tip I learned is you can call them and simply ask for a discount and they will, if you look it up they state that tvs are the only exception due to the competitive market. So I got my x800D and 150 off for it being a 2016 model, it was pretty awesome they did that for me. But I'm using it for my Pc monitor and absolutely love it.

I bit the bullet and got this TV as a replacement for me not having a TV. Very satisfied so far however I can't connect my PC to it. I'm using the same HDMI cable as I use to connect my monitor. Tried all the HDMI ports but everytime I get the no signal message. PC has a GTX970 running at 1080P. Am I missing something? Should I doe something in the nividia control panel?

There is a new model 800e? The 800d(2016) should be available all year. The 700d (2015) is the one that will be phased out this year.

you sure it isnt upscaling artifacts?

gravity rush 2 has a weird rendering technique, whereby the geometry is rendered at 4k but the textures/shading etc are 1080p upscaled.

i think rtings did mention some very minor banding noticeable on the blue spectrum iirc.
but ive checked the gradient tests on lagom.nl and i didnt notice any on my tv.

calibrated according to the ingame settings and also rtings own preferred settings for everything except panel specific rgb settings.


anyone tell me what their brightness slider values in the game settings are?

also brightness sets itself to max when using hdr. is that correct?
