I'm wary of how the story will play out, not much confidence in the script or plot execution after watching trailers. Otherwise pure confidence in Guerrilla's visuals, art direction, combat mechanics, and enemy design. The previews have been great on that front.

Yeah I forget about a few skills, watching the video again there does a pear to be a few like precision and strong strike. Still very basic stuff that won't do a lot for a melee build. Spear systems sounds exactly what I was expecting though I'm glad to hear their in higher volume than I thought.

Again though, I'm really not expecting much for a viable melee focused build. It might work alright against smaller foes but will probably fall apart when facing larger robots. I suspect only high level players will be able to pull it off as a kind of challenge run. Melee really is intended to be complimentary to your many ranged weapons.

I forget which video but in one the devs said "25". Looking at that screen, the 26th symbol (the cross through the circle) doesn't appear to resemble a robot so that fits.

the 26th symbol had an exclamation mark, which usually mean there's some new info that you can look at.

Previews are positive about the story and characters as well, even though it is only based on five hours with the game of course.

Take EG for example:

It's never an ideal way to get a feel for the rhythm of an open-world RPG, but it was just enough to get an idea of the story that Guerilla is trying to tell with Aloy - a story that is surprisingly compelling, despite the fact that many fans feel they've already got the main narrative beats pegged a mile off.

Those people want to live in their own echo chamber, posting it is the correct decision IMO, even if the majority are just toxic comments that didn't even bother to read the preview.

Yeah it just goes to show that most didn't even bother reading the preview. Also, I'm not sure why but the title of my submission was changed over night on that website, that has never happened before.

So there is plenty of side stuff , two of them are undiscovered as well , maybe arena type fighting.

There's at least 2-3 side stuff in there that I'll be skipping altogether.

Looking at some of the new videos, I feel like this is the first game this gen that truly feels completely 'next-gen' in its visuals, I said 'wow' a couple of times. It's been a while.

Can't wait to see it on my Pro.

Yep they spent like 6 months each one.

The Thunderjaw took much longer then that since it was the first one they work on.

Thunderjaw took 18 months from start to finish and it was the first robo they finished for the game. it was one of the previews and words from art director himself.

Rest took less time.

The Order: 1886, Uncharted 4, Driveclub?

The Order was incredibly linear and had letterbox bars. U4 looks impressive in many parts, but still feels like it's running on the PS3 engine underneath it all. And Driveclub looks good but feels like it's all smoke and mirrors.

Horizon is on another level, it's open-world. There's no smoke and mirrors. It's all there, it's real and you can go wherever you like. And the character models look sublime. So yeah, I stand by what I said.

I understand why some people are excited for this but it doesn't take enough risks for me. I feel like I've already played it...

uh? I didn't know that

Games that don't do saving easily (e.g. Dark Souls - although yes you can quit to main menu) aren't great for parents

Does it even matter anymore with the suspend function on PS4?

I just put it to sleep and then pick up right where I left off.

This post isn't by me, it's by a guy with the same username as me.
Game looks amazing especially on Pro. I'm gonna just roam around the world just checking it out. Probably ride around and take photo's.

This video is great to show some of the HUD customizations.

You can see that when he's not engaged in combat there's only the markers and the compass.

Are we sure the health regen thing is not just simply someone using a potion?

One of the previews said it is like a canteen that you fill with herbs and can activate to regain some health.

For what I saw, it's the green bar below the health one.

The healing mechanic in this game is dependent on the green/blue bar below your health bar. It indicates the amount of healing items you have in your bag so to speak. When you've used up all your healing items, the green bar will be empty and your health will stop regenerating. I think ghostrobo explained it in one of his videos

6 months on each? That's crazy, it does explain why they look so good though.

Still can't believe this game is coming out, I remember the artwork leak and thinking it looks like every game that gets canned. Reminds me of the covers of old sci-fi novels.

I think the green bar is independent of your healing items. Think of the green bar as the herbs you collect, while potions are crafted and used independently.

That's how I understood it anyway.
