For those that preordered the standard edition on PS4 - Is there a way to order the season pass in-game? Didnt preorder the gold initially like I should have and dont see the season pass in the PSN store. At work, so was just curious.

Yeah you can order it in the shop

I'd go with the Vikings because it seems everybody and their moms join the Samurais.
From what I've seen, the different factions have different peak hours, and so you'll see different factions dominate depending on what time of day it is. Which makes sense, considering how they all appeal to different players (and thus, different cultures and lifestyles).

Knights are currently the underdog, though, if this is any indication:

Worth noting that, despite samurai commanding a majority during their peak hours, they still ended the beta behind the vikings just because of timing differences. They're probably going to change something about how the faction war works at some point, because it seems a bit off at the moment that the winner depends entirely on what hour of the day we're talking about. (If it ended on turn 10 or turn 14, the knights would have won!)

I might be alone here, but this is the worst story mode I've played in recent memory.

I understand that it's an MP focused game but even Siege is excellent by comparison. Overall I think it will do more harm than good.

Break the pots! L1 the spots! Some lazy shit.

Anyone else having problems completing the guard break part of the advanced tutorial? Had to cheese it by spamming LT and X.

Kazuo Hirai

I really want everyone to know how much more Titanfall 2 sold than Nioh. It was a staggering amount.

Personally I thought it should be MP-Only rather than a medicore always-online SP which would make review worse.

I like the single player. Looking for deeper, hidden content in a clearly MP-focused title is stretching expectations. The single player mode isn't designed for you to break pots and look at elements, the mode was created for you to fight a variety of enemies through a cohesive narrative. Why are you analyzing the BONUS content for what is already inherently a BONUS mode? Those things only exist to encourage you to explore the environment that some designers and artists clearly put a lot of effort into. The story bits are nice world building, and I appreciate that.

My only problem with the single player is the bro-speak of the knights, so far. I'm only 4 levels in, but I'm hoping that kind of dialog is exclusive to the one faction, because it's killing me.

This needs change.
Something like gathering points while being first maybe?

Anyone know any good followups after Shugoki headbutt? It knocks them back *far*, so other than the running grab (which is easily dodged) I don't see anything I could follow up with. Maybe it's only a tool to get distance and recharge super armor?

Bleh. Too tired to focus on this game which requires focus. I'll play tomorrow.

That said I did play a couple story mode missions, and it's pretty good so far. I'm digging it~

Something I tried to do in practice mode was after hitting that and after hitting his home-run swing, I'd break out of lock on mode, start sprinting, and do his "Charge of the Oni"(sprint+dodge). If it hits, I immediately cancel it, because you have enough time for a free heavy attack against your grounded opponent. It's really gimmicky, but it's the only thing I think is worth trying.

So conflicted on this, I've got a $50 Steam balance and I kind of want to delve into the game. At the same time it sounds like waiting a bit will fix some of the balance issues. Glad it turned out well though, was a bit concerned after reading beta impressions.

Balance is pretty good imo. This game is so skill dependent starting way late after most of the casuals have quit would be a bad experience imo. I would jump in now. 99% of the balance complaints are character specific moves that people don't know how to counter because they don't know the matchup because game is new.

Is it just me or does Lawbringer feel worthless? All his parry counters Dave for the quick one can be partied, crazy low stamina, weirdly short range.

Is there a thread for tech issues?

Here's my specs. It shouldn't be running as choppy (with choppy audio) as it is right now.

GeForce GTX 970
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.6GHz
16GB Ram
Win 10

I can provide my info if need be, but yeah. And it's not just this game, it's Battlefront and even War for Cybertron.

sounds like Nobushi would give him lots of trouble
Once again, to make the comparison to fighting games, if Shugoki is like Zangief then Nobushi is someone with long pokes like dhalsim. Nobu will have a natural advantage, and can easily keep the Shugoki at bay while he destroys his own stamina. However, a prepared Shugoki can find way to get in, like with properly timed armor-framed attacks, and wreck her before she can escape the vortex.

On the whole though, yeah, I generally dread whenever I see a Nobu. Berserkers are bad too because they straight up dodge all your attacks, nullifying the guard-breaking properties completely.

The story campaign has really been a pleasant surprise. Sure the first couple levels are really just extended tutorial on multiplayer maps, but near the end of the knight campaign and the start of the Viking, the new objectives were fun. Especially since all I expected were Dominion matches against bots punctuate by cutscenes.

Really hope to see some of these migrate to multiplayer, like the
chivalry style battering ram payload push
.

To quote Jobbs - Stippin seems to agree .

Strippin's playing lawbringer in duels and seems to think he's underbalanced. Low damage, not tanky despite appearances, and his strength of having a lot of CC isn't (according to Strippin) easy to utilize due to his slow speed.

Haven't given him a shot yet but I know a LOT of people were excited to play him (something something most versatile weapon something something) so it looks like they might be let down.

Ubi probably should have run more tests with the new 3 before going public. Hopefully we see some quick balance changes over the next few weeks (especially given the state of the current parry-abusal meta)

Also huge fan love the podcast btw
Is there a female version of the Lawbringer?
No

Male only - Lawbringer, Shugoki, Warlord
Female only - Valkyrie, Peacekeeper, Nobushi

Completely agree about the sweep after a shield bash. Though I find comboing the sweep after a headbutt to be similarly useless. Too much stamina drain, and it will knock your target back so far you can't follow up with anything other than that pouncing top light attack. Just not worth it.

About the only time I find the sweep reasonably useful is as a chain finisher. Heavy / light, light, sweep, side heavy will connect, and is the only way I've found to combo a couple heavy attacks.

Been trying to take advantage of that dodge block bleed, but the timing on that feels all over the place. The dodge has to be late enough for the block to hit, you have to be close, and the timing is strict enough after a successful block that I'm not sure you can reasonably hit confirm it. Which of course means if your dodge was early, or you aren't in range, you are left swinging a heavy attack with your pants down.

I want to love the Valkyrie... I love the aesthetic, I've always enjoyed spears and shields in the few games that include them, but damn, she feels like she has a lot of tricks but no way to capitalize on them.

Maybe people will figure out something new tomorrow. Only day one after all, can't write off a character that quickly!
I couldn't perform a dodge block if my life depended on it. Deflects with assassins are fine, but for some reason I couldn't consistently land a dodge block. I'm almost certain they nerfed her sweep too because I don't remember it being so easy to evade. I'm not giving up on Valkyrie yet either, she was amazing in a previous test and I loved playing her.

So far I have only one complaint about the game - for my emblem, there is no symbol for a stag, so I can't fully recreate my real family crest.

Anyone else get a shipping delay via FedEx from Best Buy? My copy was supposed to be delivered today but it seems Best Buy didn't even begin the shipment until 10am today, with an expected delivery of 8pm tomorrow. This is the second delayed shipment from FedEx / BB, so wondering if this is going to become a continued habit and if it's just me.

You know what...
GUARD BREAK SHOULD BE R3/RIGHT STICK CLICK.

Dark Souls inspired emblem.

I feel like they don't want you to have a finger on both guard and guard break at the same time. GB would be too easy.

Thats definitely why i just cant get the counter timing down!!

Playing on PC with a controller against people who either have custom controls or keyboard and Mouse makes me feel at a disadvantage sometimes with guard breaks. About the only time I get a good counter is when on bridges cause I assume they are going to push me off.

The Xbox Elite controller would do wonders in this game!
