For Honor |OT| And shame are huge parts of it

I feel they ruined Deathmatch mode... It just turned into a Clusterfuck. If your teammates die you're screwed because then it's like 3-4 v 1 until they spawn. I liked the beta version of Deathmatch.
Elimination is still in the game. But you get skirmish as well in that playlist, which is what you are talking about. Didn't realize you wouldn't be able to select one or the other.

As for being outnumbered... Gotta learn how to handle that. Surviving a 4v1 long enough for backup to arrive, or even outright winning (though much harder) is completely possible. Learn how to multiple block, properly use revenge mode, and when to run. I.e. do the advanced tutorial.

I find it very interesting that the highest difficulty setting in story mode turns off the fight UI, which changes the way you play the game immensely. I'm surprised multiplayer doesn't work that way, frankly. Imagine how the game would play if you had to rely entirely on visual cues instead of having all the attack directions signposted for you? Maybe it'd make parries less of an obvious go-to. (Probably not, though - that window is just way too huge. Should be like 1/15th of a second, max.)

Still miffed I have to go to work today. Wish I could just stay home and play. I'll mess with it more when I get back.

That is interesting...havent played the story yet. I hope they make a hardcore mp mode...i would never play it but im sure people woukd love it

Doubles is the absolute best when people just wait and see who wins after a kill before engaging. Amazing experience.

I agree and it's part of what sold me in the alpha. I did not see this in the open beta from the matches I played. Instead it was enemies standing on bridges hoping to get an easy throw.

It wouldn't work in xv1 situations tho :(

You're put in those situations during the campaign. It works, is just (obviously) more difficult, as you have to keep shifting your visual focus back and forth.

It definitely makes the game interesting. Wouldn't mind seeing some kind of hardcore multiplayer modes that force ui removal for all players.

Damn kill thieves. Have a nice battle only for a team mate to run up behind and deal the fatal blow.

Ahhhh I see. Well I'm just saying that it becomes unbalanced and just a mess after a while. I didn't select either one I just hit deathmatch and it put me in skirmish.

Between Nioh, this, Sniper Elite 4 and Horizon around the corner I am swamped, but I will give it a go here in a bit. How are people liking the campaign so far?

Can anyone give impressions on the three "new" classes? I've been busy at work/school and wont have a chance to try for a while. : (

Great OT title! :-D

I'm downloading it now. Wasn't planning on picking it up day one, but the 20 percent off on uplay got the better of me. Along with the Deluxe version being the same price as standard for pre-orders. (I bought it last night)

Only played shugoki but here is my take.

Before I said warlord and raider were the "grapplers" of this game.

I was wrong. This guy is.

He has a lot of risky attacks that do a ton of damage, but put you in a significant disadvantage if you screw it up.

The most obvious version of this is his grapple. It has a big range, deals a good chunk of damage, cant be blocked, heals you, and puts the opponent into a hard knockdown which is free hits for your teamates... but if you miss you lose health, a decent amount of stamina and you're totally vulnerable.

He also has his charge, which seems very finicky and eats at your stam faster than anything in the game, but can be used for easy ledge-knock-offs if timed properly. And then there is his unblockables. I haven't experimented yet enough with them but it seems to be the same deal - Deals a ton of damage if it hits, but consumes a ton of stam.

His home run derby swing is amazing and hilarious, but in 1v1 situations actually gives your opponent more space, which you don't really want. Still, when fighting this guy you will def have to watch out for guard breaks (on top of everything else).

It should be obvious by now, but his biggest weakness is his stamina. When shugoki is out of stamina, he becomes the slowest character in the game, bar none. You are pretty much useless. running, attacking, guard breaks... everything takes half a century to do. A couple bad moves and you will end up getting completely demolished by a person who knows what to expect. But take the opponent by surprise and they'll be dead before they even realize it.

Also he has a sitting emote and belly bump execution which are amazing.

I tried removing the HUD in multiplayer and I had immediate regrets. It really helps you read your opponent better because some of them are super fast and in the heat of battle it becomes frustratingly difficult.

Story impressions ? Is it a real singleplayer with cutscenes or just toturial for multiplayer

From what I've seen it's pretty much both. There are cutscenes and a legit story and everything but it seems like the gameplay is just a bunch of repurposed situations based on the multiplayer modes.

Does anyone have any tips for playing Conqueror vs Nobushi? I played closed beta and open beta, and I've played a LOT of Conq during that time.

I can handle most 2v1s I can handle every other class, but for some reason a Nobushi is just something I haven't found the counter too. They seem to spam a lot of right side stabs (left on my side, right on theirs), I can block it, but then I can't hit back, parry is hard because of the speed, but even when I do it knocks them so far away that it's hard to hit them again.

I need tips!

Yup. I just finished the storymode. And this sums it up pretty good. It's decent. Probably worth playing it if you bought the game for the MP. I wouldn't buy the game just for the SP, but I guess that isn't a surprise for anyone.

Took me about 5 hours on normal.

There's some stuff that isn't Multiplayer like Animal fights and a payload mode. You also have objectives and such so it isn't literally bot matches.

So conflicted on this, I've got a $50 Steam balance and I kind of want to delve into the game. At the same time it sounds like waiting a bit will fix some of the balance issues. Glad it turned out well though, was a bit concerned after reading beta impressions.

I did Samurai because I am trying to stick with this self made rule of faction = character i play as. Next season ill switch it up, same rule.

Honestly.... it's a blast. Go for it.

Balancing will be a forever thing. Might as well get in on the ground floor.

And a lot of those beta impressions were a total joke. "Played one match and deleted the game"

Not to sure, but parry does very from characters weapon to weapon speed wise, and some characters can get free heavys off parrys too

Yeah I guess it just seems like streamers who mained a character in the beta are now saying the parries are off (I'm assuming they're talking about timing?) compared to what they just played a couple days ago.

There's a level where you have to escort a giant battering ram with minions. I an easily see them converting that into a payload mode.

Yeah I would like that. I don't usually like these PVP-modes (1v1 etc) so much. But an objective based mode would be interesting.

My game on PC keeps launching in windowed mode, and I have to manually enter in fullscreen. Any fix?

Also, curious but how many concurrent users on PS4/xbox? PC had 86k

For those that preordered the standard edition on PS4 - Is there a way to order the season pass in-game? Didnt preorder the gold initially like I should have and dont see the season pass in the PSN store. At work, so was just curious.
