Zelda BOTW Switch Day 0 Patch incoming

The switch version drops to 20 FPS? What??

Does anyone know if you can download updates without linking a Nintendo Account?

I'm pretty certain inkopolis is still 30.

Just looked into it a little more. It seems as though it's not 60, but at some point early in the game's lifespan there was definitely an update to the frame rate in Inkopolis.

Was really debating getting the DLC, but since it's just cosmetic out of the gate, I think I'm going to play it as it's meant to and get it in the summer.

There was absolutely an update that fixed the frame-rate in inkopolis. I remember it clearly because pre-patch it was a stuttering mess. It's much smoother now.

Details of the day 0 patch

Ver.1.1.0 [2017.3.2 delivery]

1. You can now purchase Expansion Pass by launching the Nintendo eShop from the title screen. (For expansion and pass, please visit the official website .)

2. Fixed several problems so that you can play games comfortably.

well it does some bug fix at least.

Hah that sounds like control options rather than framerate. But I guess it could be referring to framerate.

Is it confirmed to just be cosmetics? I was considering getting it but I don't want to get overpowered items right away and screw up the balance.

There was but I'm pretty sure it's not 60. Going from inkopolis to Octo Valley there's a definite difference in smoothness.

Can anyone confirm if you need a linked account to download game patches on the switch? I don't want to set any shit up and just get into the game tomorrow.

So is it confirmed that there is a patch for the Wii U version?

There is, I got the WiiU version of the game yesterday, played an hour or so. Just played it again today and there was an update/patch, which installed. The game seems to be running a little smoother now, but maybe that's just my imagination.

I see suddenly Dualshockers becoming a favourite source just a couple of days after people were ready to lynch one of them for a supposed upcoming bad review of Zelda.

I guess no source is bad when it provides the right info.

Even if it's only a small improvement then I'm happy, thanks!

Sorry if my posts weren't clear, but I am in no way sold that there's a frame bump yet. I'd like to believe Dualshockers, but it's hard when they're the only decently credible source for this there is.

Any info on Wii U version's off-tv play? Does it run better and possibly only run at 480p (native gamepad resolution)?
sorry i'm tired and thought this was also a wii u day 1 patch

I wouldn't take the translation too literally

Ah I didn't realize it was a translation, I hadn't clicked the link.

I'm guessing we'll see a DF pre/post patch analysis within a few days. Also a Wii U/Switch analysis.

I'm not 100% sure on this but I don't think that's how the Wii U works. The images are always rendered at only one resolution and then they are sent to the 480p screen, rather than being rendered specifically for the screen.

I figured it may be possible for it to switch rendering resolutions on the fly if it was told it was switched to off-tv mode.
Didnt know if there was any precedent for any function like that, though.

I'm still convinced a patch will fix the framerate issues. If you watch the DF analysis from a month ago there were like 2 minor dips, its much worse now somehow. Makes me think it must be a bug.

I do not believe that there will be immensely crippling frame rate issues on Wii U. They've been making the damn game for 5 years, I simply do not believe it

I don't believe there is; off-tv games are effectively super sampled as a result, which is why the image quality on the gamepad is actually pretty decent (color issues notwithstanding).

It's worth noting that the isn't a precedent for a Nintendo game with off-tv that struggled at 720p either, though. Who knows, they could render at 480 on the gamepad.
