The "my pre order vendor f*cked my Switch release day delivery" thread

I'm another that's been fucked over by NUK. I've just this moment fired off an email to complain the lack of communication and asked for some goodwill. (you don't ask you don't get right?) No doubt I'll get a generic response tho.

Meanwhile my friend ordered a neon a couple of hours ago and it's arriving tomorrow. He already got a shipping label and everything. Support doesn't know why mine never shipped and they can't even estimate when it'll arrive since a shipping label was never made.

I'm in the same boat ;_;

I like how we've sunk low enough to one-up who has had the worst experience :( Worst launch ever....

I had this happen with Target when I ordered an Xbox One S on Black Friday.
The delivery driver took it to the wrong address, then just brought it back to the distribution center. Called Target and they basically told me to pound sand and that it wasn't their fault. So it ended up getting delivered 2 days later.
I'm just mad because it makes no sense imo to have a hold on the order. I've paid for it. Why can't you just hold it for me at the center? Why do I have to wait two extra days for you to deliver it? It's stupid.

Trust me, I wish I could pick up at my Anazon warehouse if I could :/

But they aren't. I and many others had their orders shipped from Amazon via USPS, UPS and FedEx. The very ones you claimed they don't use.

My Switch and Zelda arrived from Amazon via USPS just like they said. And they shipped it out on Wednesday.

You know they shipped a lot of consoles and games over the last few days, and it's pretty much all they do. There's no other options like store pickup, like other retailers have.

And I've also read of people having trouble with Best Buy and other retailers as well. It's a major console launch, a lot of product is being moved. There's bound to be screwups at every retailer, it's just the nature of us humans.

I never claimed they don't use those services.

I claimed they are the only ones using their own courier service.

Its called Amazon Logistics. Look it up.

Its nice that you had such a nice experience. Some of us haven't. If my order had been sent by USPS it would have been here at 9AM. Its nearly 6PM and its not.

I have also had them mark something as delivered and deliver it the next day as well as call me when they couldn't figure out where my apartment is rather than just going to the leasing office.

Yeah, this is pretty insane. Mine is shipped and with UPS...somewhere. Says it's delivering today by 8pm (I'm on ET so they have about an hour and a half left), but still shows as "In Transit" and not "Out for Delivery."

Stopped by a Toys R Us this afternoon for a birthday gift I needed this weekend. My copy of Zelda is still 'supposedly' en route, but the store had STACKS of the game for both Wii U and Switch available. Switch consoles were sold out(more arriving Sunday apparently), but for fucks sake I could have driven over much earlier and just grabbed the game instead of dealing with online entirely.

Almost double dipped, but really didn't want to deal with the hassle of making returns if and when my pre-order copy finally arrives in the mail. (Now regretting it after getting home)

I will never buy a retail game again.

Pretty pissed.

Trying to hook a fellow GAF member up, and the distribution center is about 75 miles away from his home, yet the order still states that it'll arrive by 8PM tonight.

Talked to a supervisor, who, after an hour, finally gave up the ghost and said that it'll be delivered on Monday...

...while he has to watch Prime Now members get theirs within a two hour window tonight.

This sucks. A lot.

I just grabbed a system from my Wal-Mart in bum fuck nowhere. Could have done this at noon today when I was off. They had 2 units (Gray) left at around 4:30 PM. Gonna keep it if Amazon misses their 8PM target and ship their back.

Prime Now > Prine members with immidiate pre-orders. Priorities... Amazon, c'mon.

My Switch just arrived. Random dude decided he would just walk up and leave a $300 console by my door at an apartment complex rather than taking the time to knock even once. Bet Prime Now members get a knock.

I called Amazon. The rep had no explanation. She guessed it would come by Wednesday but that was purely a guess. Gonna complain to them when I have time.

I'm putting this all on Amazon. Don't have a Switch preordered, but twice in six months they have tried to fuck me over with Release Date Delivery on games as a Prime member. Both times they gave me credit or faster shipping for my troubles, but this is now par for the course with them with the video games department. Only preordering things from them I don't absolutely need on release date from now on, and I suggest everyone else do the same.

Got my preordered console through Best Buy earlier in the day, it's now 5PM and Zelda/1-2 are sitting as "Arriving today by 8PM", not a single tracking detail. I called, guy on the phone said he couldn't technically start filing a promotional credit for missing the release-day window, but everything in his tone of voice basically said "yeah you're right" when I pointed out the timeframe they're working on.

Pretty infuriating having the console and no games to play on it.

Hilarious that it's still acting like it's going to be delivered to me within the next 55 minutes...despite not even showing "out for delivery."

Wow. Did your order status ever change to Shipped?

I posted this earlier

There was some big pile up on the M4 between where I live in West London and the Amazon distribution centre, fucking cars on fire, people dead, motorway closed etc

Apparently that means I'm not getting my console today. Fucking sucks man. everyone having a great time with Zelda and I'm sitting here playing fucking Twilight Princess HD like a chump. This shit always happens to me, I'm fucking cursed.

Gave CS both barrels but nothing doing. Cunts.

Which was a joke.

But I paid the penalty when I got home and my console was there but no BOTW.

Had to download it instead goddamit and it took forever. Will return the other copy.

Ironically my Wii U version did arrive but I wanted to keep that sealed.

UK post seems to have gone to shit with this release

Telling you, this is what is happening. I bet they have no live data with Amazon Logistics.

please note if this does not happen to me I will be pissed.

If you're near NYC, I can tell you that they just screwed up. My order literally didn't ship until 20 minutes ago even though it was Shipping Soon since last night. It's going through USPS so I should get it tomorrow.

Same thing happened with my friend who lives in the same area.

So it looks like NY and CA (north and south) are the 2 biggest places to be hit by these issues, from what I've seen?

My Switch has finally been shipped... It will come tomorrow. Honestly I'm just happy that I finally will have it soon. This is with Amazon.

Wow. Did your order status ever change to Shipped?

It did and it said out to delivery twice. Once at 9 AM then again at 5PM. Now its marked as delivered and "handed directly to resident". Lying ass.

Also the console is defective. YAY! LOL!! Glad I picked up a back-up at Wal-mart. The right joycon A button is not always responsive, only responsive when pushing down hard and then registers multiple inputs.

WOOOOOOO!

NUK here. No console. Shocked they fluffed it for quite a few people on here. It's The Hut group sure, but it's a platform owner and their new big toy so you'd think they'd have told them not to screw things up. Crazy.

I kinda don't think it'll even arrive tomorrow, but we'll see.

I sent an email as well to complain and request some form of compensation. Damn right you gotta ask. But it is unlikely I'll bother with them for consoles. Better off not doing day one to avoid headaches too.

Oh, well, tomorrow is manageable.

CT here.

I know someone in PA who hasn't received his console either. His one is "Shipping Now" all day, while my one got to "Preparing for Shipment" yesterday and hasn't changed.

Walmart screwed up my Zelda preorder. Kept showing me it will arrive on Friday up until it shipped today, then immediately changed to Tuesday. I complianed and got $6 refund. That doesn't make it feel good when I can go right now and sign up for a free trial of Amazon Prime and get the game for $12 off AND receive it 3 days before my Walmart preorder arrives.

My preorder (Atlanta) for a gray Switch and Zelda has been on "Shipping Now" & "Arriving today by 8pm" all day. Amazon support told me I'll get it"on or before Sunday", because "it is a really requested game and we received a lot of orders."

Not preordering anything through Amazon anymore.

I can't seem to change my shipping address because Amazon has it as "shipping now" but with no carrier info and our front office is already closed (where packages are delivered) and I am leaving soon. So annoying.

I said fuck it. I went on Craigslist and bought the switch and zelda from someone. Gonna have to sell the one I got from Amazon whenever it comes smh.

long island here...waiting.

I can only hope it gets delivered tomorrow.

amazon lost a customer. this will be my last year of Prime.

Yeah, Amazon is still "Shipping Soon" in Seattle. I generally like their service for stuff that I want soon-ish and don't care about the exact day (books, household items). But this is the last time I'm going to use them for something that I actually give a shit about getting on a precise time. Next time I'll order an in-store pickup somewhere else.

My wife and I had planned on inviting friends over to play tonight, plus getting into Zelda ourselves this weekend. smh
