Are you talking about lighting the furnace or is there something else? Lighting the furnace does not require all the lamps to be lit, there are several lamps not in the path from the fire to the furnace.
The furnace
is the starting ooint

Go
up the hill to the lady that upgrades your slate.

I like how the NPCs seem to respond to a lot of environmental factors like time of day and weather.

I was heading back from the Hateno research lab and I saw two kids shouting at each other from under a two separate trees. I chatted one up and they were talking about going to check out the lab after the stopped raining!

When I first heard (desert area stuff)
men can't enter Gerudo Town I jokingly thought to myself "Link is gonna enter by disguising as a girl." Just got the Gerudo Gear. lmao. This game has a good sense of humor.

The original question was asking if there was any point in lighting up all the lamps.
That part of the story does not require you to light all the lamps.

I'm two divine beasts down and wow. The difficulty on the boss fights is perfect. They go from "how the hell am I supposed to beat that" to "they can't seriously expect me to do that?" to "holy shit I might actually do it" in the space of ten epic minutes. I'm in awe.

Can you actually climb Central Tower without being able to kill the guardians?

Yup. I did it. I haven't killed a single Guardian yet.

You'll need some Stamina first so you have enough to Jump from rest area to rest area fast enough.

I've reached my 2nd Divine Beast, so I guess I'll go back and beat the 1st Divine Beast's Boss now since I'm stuck mentally.

Oh right I'm with you now, sorry!

I did them all as it was on the way up. I mean why would you not? Not sure if I got anything for it.

if you can get him right in the head with a couple arrows it stuns him long enough for you to get off a combo or....Mount him

I...I refuse to believe that last part.

Because there is not way this game can get any more incredible.

Just. Wow.

Keep trying! I thought about giving up but just kept brute forcing it with food. I would make sure you have Attack up and defense up foods. I think those really helped me. Yeah I was very excited to be dying so much on a boss fight. Once I beat him it was SO satisfying.

Speaking of food I completely forgot I had radishes. Radish + prime meat gives you full recovery and 5 extra heart containers. Damnit I should have prepared a few dishes.

Fun fact:
you don't get a quest to kill that Lynel because you aren't supposed to kill it. It's a sneak mission to pick up the shock arrows.

Oh, I figured killing him would grant me some arrows. He's just been charging at me with giant sword so I didnt think I could get him to shoot arrows. I guess I need more distance?

My ego wont let me leave him alone. I must get arrows and slay the beast.

There are additional lamps below the starting point of the blue fire... closer to the main part of the town. That would not be in your path to the research lab.

Oh my god the full zora's set really makes you move fast in the water!

Honestly though the climber set has been a huge life saver since I ignored stamina upgrades for so long lol.

Damn Nintendo...

I turned on BotW around 4:00 in the afternoon, looked at the clock about five minutes later and it's almost 2:30 in the morning.

I don't have the game so....I would like to know how are the NPCs in this game (I mean the charatcers you will interact with during gameplay, not the story-only characters) ? One of the thing I loved in SS was the great NPCs, they had some cool designs and those quirky personnalities, especially in Skyloft. Is BotW like that or, due to its open-world nature, you will rather mean cloned and samy NPCs ?

I am so glad for those map pins and whatnot.

I got so many shrines marked in areas so far from me...I don't know if the 100 limit is enough.

This game is terrific I saw an tweet about the guy on the proxim bridge on the way of the dueling peaks, when Link went on the edge of the bridge, the guy
yelled at him not to jump, that life is precious and so on.

On a sidenote I made a second article about my adventure : http://www.letswitch.eu/en/2017/03/05/botw-journal-2/

It is about my exploration after the Great Plateau, around the dueling peaks.

Really? I've completed three so far and they're all pretty much the same exact formula for the most part.

You seem to be bringing a lot of unnecessary baggage and preconceptions into these questions. You've got a Switch so I'd say just give it a try on your own file. The game is made for everybody, really. It's not simple nor basic, there's a lot going on, and it's not only appealing to the Nintendo Faithful. Give it a try and let us know what you think.

I will be sure to do that. Just going to take me a few months . I'm not hating on the game at all, loving some of the cut scene type styles and etc , just wanna know if it's worth investing a month into or whatever .

Enjoy guys ! And will be sure to check back in when I have played it . Just wanted some impressions for a non Nintendo player , with a Nintendo crazy wife !

You don't have to get him to shoot you. Just stay on the other side from where he is and collect them off the trees. I tried killing him but it didn't seem worth blowing every boss level weapon I'd been stockpiling for hours with no apparent reward for doing it.

I've played this game pretty much all day twice in a row -- And the hours have flown by.

I wasn't willing to believe it until seeing it first hand, but Nintendo has come a really, really long way very quickly. This is a Zelda game -- The first one in a very long time, in my opinion -- To respect its audience. We are being treated like adults, and because of that the game feels like an adventure rather than a carnival ride. Very pleased.

Stupid question, how do you sled with your shield?

Hold out your shield with ZL, jump and then press A.

This game is amazing. I've been playing for the last 3 days straight, and while I've been loving it, it just keeps stepping a notch. The trek to
Goron City was fucking EXHILARATING. Killing my very first Guardian and a stone flame monster right after knowing I only have so much time via the Fireproof elixir. And then the final scramble to catch lizards so I could grab the Fire armor.
AMAZING!

This game just feels good to run around in. Played 5 hours last night and I'm just about to descend from the plateau. Hats off to the wizards at Nintendo.

*Goes to Death Mountain*
*Gets burnt to a crisp*
*Heat Reistance does nothing*
*Heat Resistance+2 and being naked does nothing*

Well then...I guess this is meant to be the last mech to fight.

I'll just...go towards the bird for now.

26 hours in and only 21 Shrines done. Damn where are they all hidden? lol. But its fun figuring stuff out. Haven't looked up any answers yet!

I need to collect
electro arrows
but that fucker on the hill is one hitting me. Am I just to underpowered? I tried sneaking but I don't think I'm supposed to skip the fight, right?

And I just saw his health in numbers for a short time. How did I trigger this? This was the first time I remember seeing this.

Fire Proof elixirs my dude

I'm doing it as my 2nd Divine Beast.

Uh...question.
Where's the last piece? I have the Shirt/Pants. I need the Head

Of the zoras set?

It's in
a chest under water you gotta magnet out tuta in the area just north of zoras domain, you gotta go up like 3 waterfalls, i think it's called lake tuta or something

Pretty much this. Hand holding has gone out the window for the most part. Experimentation is in and making decisions on the survival of Link is a key part of it... Do I upgrade hearts or stamina? Do I have the right weapons to fight this creature? OMG that thing is huge I should try to avoid that... Oh man I'm about to fall to my death on this cliff... one quick leap to see if I make it. OMG I DID! Oh hey I'm just riding my horse in this valley... What is that structure over there... Better check it out. Oh hey... I'll try to head right to Hyrule Castle... NOPE.

Have not really had a dull moment and I still haven't gotten to my first dungeon... and I would say I have been playing for about 9 or so hours.

Nah you're meant to skip it.

Not sure what i should do after
recovering the first memory and getting the tunic..i dont think im ready to tackle a divine beast yet.

Oh.

Well in that case ill come back later to kill this beast. Ego can wait another day lol.

I'm up to the point where you
show Impa that you found a memory and have to set out to restore the guardian things
and I just feel overwhelmed

Like I still feel so weak against enemies that I don't feel like I should be moving on, and any time I have tried to step into another region there is just something waiting to one shot me

I've done 13 shrines and have five hearts and +1 stamina, so it's not like I haven't been looking for side stuff. I just have this constant feeling like I'm missing something

The "health in numbers" power comes from wearing the Champion shirt. It's useful for spotting enemies who are trying to blend into the environment.

Don't fight that enemy. If it sees you, run around to all the trees until you have enough arrows.

Some advice:
There's a Great Fairy just above and to the right of the Shrine near Impa's village. She can upgrade your equipment to provide better defense.

Close to 3am, so gonna call it a night after a five hour play of this game and barely got to the shrine tutorial on how to parry. Thinking of staying up and talking to townspeople I ignored though.

Eta- these short shrines are kinda nice. Not hour long commitments like the temples in previous games.

I think you're meant to sneak around stuff or avoid things out of survival. It's the charm of this game... You're not told how to do it exactly and it's up to you to figure it out. Such a great breath of fresh air from the typical Zelda A to point B hand holding.

Im the same as you for the most part on hearts and stamina.

I think down the line when your buffed out Link we can take on these bigger challenges. Have you tried heading to Hyrule Castle? It's pretty insane if you try to do it before you ready.

My god,
Rito
Village is stunning at night. Who needs the beefiest hardware in the world when you have mastered art and mood?

I don't understand this puzzle.

5 singing birds, singing in the order 4-5-3-1-2, numbered statues in a circle behind them with holes in them, platform in the middle that lights up when you stand on it. Shooting arrows through the holes in the rocks in the order the birds sing doesn't do anything.

Edit: Ignore me, I'm an idiot.
