This may have been asked before, but can you switch targets during lockon?

Also, the main quest doesn't lead you to all areas I assume?

Am I the only one that feels bad (more than in the previous episodes) for killing mobs? Especially when jumping on them in the middle of the night :/

The Old Man teaches you how to cook. At night, inside the forest.
Damn... I fully expected this, and I tried to talk with him as much as I could, but I never found him at the right place at the right time.

I've seen him
sleeping, hunting, tending a fire, chopping down trees...
but I somehow miss this.

It's really, really not hand-holding, but you're so used to old formulas that I fully expected you couldn't do it before someone explain it to you...

Major story spoiler: I just finished the
water titan quest. Is the item I got a consumable or does it work as described every time I die? (Like the fairies) if so: does that mean no more reloading? Feels like a huge cheat

Huh, I didn't expect getting to the second Divine Beast be so short compared to the first one

It works like a fairy, but it has a 30 minute long cooldown period before it's available again

Is it just me or is the game like SUPER stingy with arrows. I'm at an area where it's plainly obvious you need to "use arrow to kill dude on wall", but I'm out of arrows. Like wtf, that's not cool. :( Give me arrows, don't make me spend my (no) cash on hand for them.

I had a surplus for a while (around 70 regular arrows), but now I'm down to about 20 regular arrows because I've been using my bows a lot more recently.

Don't forget that you can also throw your melee weapons at enemies. It might not work for some of your encounters, but I've gotten kills that way before in situations where I would normally use my bow.

It has a recharge timer after it has been activated, so dying several times in a row will still result in real actual death.

Spent 3 hours hiking to around searching the mountains near Death Mountain for a memory spot, THREE HOURS. Incredible experience trying to triangulate the position from locations in the distance compared to my reference material.

This game is just mind blowing.

Another fun thing. On route to a certain domain and I took shelter by a cook pot but due to rain, the fire was out and had no stick to light a nearby bonfire.

Didn't think it would work, but I put a nearby barrel in the cook fire, then quickly rolled it to the bonfire... It worked!!!

Years of game logic telling me I can't climb kneehigh walls or shoot this glass bottle, and now this game just sets expactions way too high.

So I just finished the section where
you fix your sheikah slate and gain the camera function
but I feel like my character is very underpowered. I still have the same clothes I started the game with and a few not very effective weapons. I also seem to not be able to gain that many rupees. Anybody have any tips?

Also I got a ruby for getting the season pass should I sell it immediately or hold on to it?

Quoting myself for a new page

Despite what troubles I'm having I absolutely love this game. It has so much charm and it looks absolutely amazing! Nintendo really hit this one out of the park

Sell any gems you have.
If you have tons of monster drops, they'll add up as well.

With the memories, is it best to try and view them in order? Or does it not really matter? I just got my first one at the east gate of
Mt. Lanayru
.

Ive been playing for like 17 hours since Friday, I've had the mission to go to Kakariko village since Friday but ive just been roaming around with my wolf buddy. I'm trying to get to the desert area just for kicks.

This. game. man. There's nothing like it at all. It's just so good.

I havent touched Horizon since I got this game, and i'm enjoying that game too. I'm probably going to force myself to stop playing this after today and finish Horizon first at least.

For people interested: I just played Zelda in handheld mode on low settings (volume muted, brightness all the way down and on automatic, wifi enabled), and I got 3 hours and 15 minutes out of the system, running the battery from 100% to 6%.

Been playing basically non stop since Friday afternoon and only just used my first fast travel.

Puzzle solving is great, loving the shrines. The only thing that's trulyour got me stumed is the korok fans dotted about, no idea how to interact with them.

Timeline stuff, no spoilers past Kakariko Village

So it was said earlier that this was in the Twilight Princess timeline, but... couldn't it just as easily be the Downfall timeline? Obviously it would be FAR into the future either way. Maybe it's so far that it just doesn't matter.
It was mentioned a few posts earlier about the other games being myths. It does take place 10,000 years past the events of any of the last games in any timeline, it doesn't matter like you said. It's still the DF timeline in my head canon.

You can replay them in your Sheikah Slate whenever you want, if you want to see the chronological version. I reccomend not worrying about finding them in any particular order, gives the narrative a fun Memento-esque structure, and better fits the whole idea of slowly regaining memories. They wouldn't come in chronological order.

It's hard to look favorably on Skyward Sword after playing this game.

It's like completely different, and makes it look like a joke in comparison.

Is it blasphemy to buy the guide for this game? I like open world games but always get anxiety that I have missed stuff about ten hours into this game and I can tell I could've missed a lot of the little things had I not been searching I just can't see the game holding me that long playing like this as it's going to take hundreds of hours like this. With the guide I just want to know what I'm missing in the areas I am in the game, it's both the blessing and the curse of the Ubisoft open world blueprint.

Quesiton about the sheikah sensor...

Once you get the + upgrade how do you turn it off. Basically, I have it set to a torch right now, can I turn that off? Is it not searching for shrines if it's looking for an item? It seems really weird that I can't turn it off from searching for items. Any ideas?

Korok Seeds are way too hard.
Definitely getting it to complete.

When playing this game, I really feel that I will have problems getting back to the older Zelda games.

BotW is the first Zelda game, where I wish the game will never end. Ganon will have to wait.

Can anyone give me a hint for the zoras domain shrine. I have no idea what to do
At the first stop, do not let it go over, Cryonis just a little bit, so that the ball rolls off the corner of the ice.
Cryonis in the center gap (do this beforehand).
If the ball goes through, reposition it.
After it stops on the left side (roughly parallel to the hole), leave it alone, and make a pillar in the area in front of it so that the corner is cut off.
Then Cryonis on the ball twice.

When I fight enemies now it's showing their health as a number along with a red bar. Did I accidentally hit something in options, or did I pick something up that caused this?

In the same place. Been there close to 90 min with no clue at all. Probably a very simple solution... Have gode through it inch for inch 10 times or so

Edit: sry at the temple..

I'm not very far into the story, I just unlocked the
camera
, but will I get the chance to upgrade my weapon durability at some point?

I wont be getting this game for a while as I'm currently tied up with other things. But is this game comparable to the Witcher 3 in terms of variety and scope?

Cheers. Didnt realise i was able to freeze the wall to push the ball off haha.

So I found the Korok Forest and
the Master Sword. Can't pull it out sinceI have four hearts. How many do I need before I can pull it out? 10?
