I really need help with the Zora
Dungeon.

Have had no progress there in close to 2 hours of searching. I have activated 2 terminals there. The crank and the water wheel. Have not figure out any more. Tried to stasis the rock on the big wheel with no success.
Any help would be appreciated.

Have you realized that you can move the beast's trunk in the map screen?

I ended up. Cheating that a bit by
hopping in the open door while it was open and then waiting for it to turn upside down so I could activate the terminal

Reached a tower that was surrounded by water with nasties floating in it. It was during a thunderstorm so I threw my rusty sword in the water, a minute later lightning hit the water, electrocuting and killing everyone in it. Now all I had to do is wait till the storm passed so I could calmly swim to the tower.

This game..
Oh god that's such a good solution to that one. Thought I was all clever with my sneaking around

You can use your mini map to manipulate the trump and you can use ice to block water on small wheel

Just finished my first dungeon and boss in
Zora's Domain
. So good to have a boss that you can die against and actually have to work at to beat!

On a positive note I feel like I've made real progress. On the downside I feel like I've used up most of my good gear to get through this stage of the game and I'm nigh on empty-headed to tackle other areas. Any tips?!

Right after that post I snagged a beautiful pure black horse so I'm back to soothing anyway :D

How do you do that? Do you just need to have enough stamina? I have three stamina vessels now but I keep falling off anyway. I don't want to look up any guides in fear of spoilers.

Stopping for the day. I have around 30 hours logged in.

Two divine beasts done. About 48 shrines found. Still don't feel like I've scratched the surface. I haven't even entered multiple areas.

Best bit was when I stumbled on the Master Sword. Kept going back every time I got a new heart to see if I could grab it. Finally have!

Really enjoying this game. Want to do all the shrines and as many side quests as possible until I head off towards Calamity Ganon

I'm only a few hours in but this game is living up to its considerable hype.

I found a tower across a river, climbed a cliff and jumped off, gliding across to land on the tower. Just had enough stamina left to make it to the first landing.

Only after getting to the top did I see the 'proper' way to get there.

This level of emergent gameplay combined with Nintendo's charm and polish is a rare treat.

THIS. FUCKING. GAME.

So I just arrived at a stable. I'm heading to the nearby shrine when I see a dog seemingly glitched out, running around in circles rapidly. Went near it thinking I finally found some open world jank and nope, the dog was chasing its own tail; it catches it and stands there for a moment before walking off.

I can't believe they decided to animate and program that kind of thing, it serves NO purpose whatsoever but damn is it such a cool detail.

I wasn't able to get a solid color one with base stamina, but made it with one stamina vessel upgrade. I leapt off of my current horse onto the new one and I barely calmed him before my stamina ran out. Don't know if the other solid color ones I tried before were harder to tame than the one I picked this time.

My new horse and I just dashed quickly into a bunch of resting birds and they exploded into a pile of drum sticks.

Anyone know where the shrine is near the
peak of Awakening
? I've been tooling around the cliff for a while and I feel like the indicator is lead me in circles. I already did the one that you unlocked by
shooting tht statue eye
nearby, so it's not that one.

Anyone?

What minimap? There is no minimap when I enter the dungeon. It is there when I exit it. At the lake I can see it and no indication that I can move anything.

Longer impressions of the game for me. I'm probably at around 6 hours. Made it to the first village.

The bad:
-The game is definitely struggling under the power of the WiiU. It looks great in so many ways, but then you'll get to a part of the game that makes you think of Oblivion on lowest settings. The game looks much better on the WiiU tablet controller, but I'm not playing on a tiny screen. This is a big big game for a big big screen.
-Contrast and colors seem blown out.
-Framerate in the villages give me a headache. Playing on the WiiU tablet screen can help with that.

The good:
-Everything else.
-Holy shit this is one of the best cocktails of open world gameplay I've ever played in a game.
-Holy shit this is one of the greatest variety of gameplay I've ever played in a game.
-Holy shit this is some of the most relaxing, charming yet engaging atmopshere I've ever played in a game.
-Holy shit this is some of the best ways to organically teach the player how to do just about everything I've ever played in a game.
-Holy shit this is one of the best surround sound mixes I've ever heard in a game.

I haven't had this much sheer fun playing a game since...probably Monster Hunter 3U.

Woke up this morning, immediately hopped in. Told myself I'd maybe just do a shrine or two... almost 3 hours later, I've done that, and so much more. Although I'm only 10 or so hours in, this is quickly becoming a GOTY/GOTG contender. I'm not sure how they did it, and it's all I can think about. Open world games are going to be forever changed by this. As much as I loved TW3, it now feels like a connect-the-dots game compared to how organic, natural, and discovery-heavy BOTW is. I'm blown away.

When you enter dungeon Zelda show you a room where there is a device to get mini map, lift the door with ice

you have to get the dungeon map. It's in a room down a Ramp when you first walk in.

Wow. This was kind of shitty. As I have been lead to belive you cannot move mechanics with it. Tried using it on locations where it would not let me before.
Thanks. Now I can actually do this shit.

Or the DLC later this year ;)

The world is built, now they just need to flesh it out more.
Jesus, I forgot this, I've been playing for over 10 hours and I haven't done a single one of the
four
yet. Is there a point to buy the DLC season pass now? Can't believe this game is going to add on to its already massive amount of content...

Ohh, you can do that? I tried jumping from another horse but I just ended up jumping backwards and assumed it wasn't possible. Gotta try that again!

This game XD

Does anyone know if the Wii U version works with the Classic Controller Pro from the Wii?

I tried to look it up, but I'm seeing conflicting reports. This image indicates that it doesn't work.

TN9M7F6.jpg

But this one indicates that it DOES work.

Granted, I think these boxes are from different regions, but the controller options wouldn't be different from region to region would they?

I feel like the first couple hours of this game is a bit frustrating, especially if you don't play a lot of open world games---I get kind of anxious about having too much freedom, so I've been a bit worried about "am I wasting these items?" and "should I be marking this place to check it out later?"

Controls are also a bit difficult for me, stamina and jump being on the opposite ends of the controller has cost me so many lives and I mess up and forget to jump, as does remembering how to summon, throw, and detonate the bombs. So many deaths due to an error like that rather than legitimately being taken by surprise in a good way.

But I feel like the game will get better once I get the hang of it. But I suck at using my imagination haha, so many enemy encounters seem designed to get you to think outside of the box (the bee hive, the chandelier of flames above the TNT barrels) that I just miss and go in headstrong.

Surprised at how much of the plot is revealed to you right after the "tutorial" segment with the initial shrines. Feels very anime-y, but kind of in a classic shonen way that I sort of like.

So, I have a question---can you cook food without using a pot? Like I found a Baked Apple near the Old Man's campfire, and it mentions how you can cook it. I tried holding an apple near the fire, but nothing seemed to happen and Link just caught on fire lol. But some of the text does make it sound possible to expose things to heat without using the pot it seems...

Oh, and does this game have any Mini-Games? You know, a target gallery, etc. I like those.

Hi. I have two questions. Please help.

1. I just got destroyed by a bear. How do I fight it? I can't lock on to him
2. Is there a way to see your play time?

Thanks!

A question about the shrine sensor, spoilered just in case
How do I set my sensor back to shrines after changing it to something else? I set it to cuccos and now I can't seem to figure out how to set it back to shrines.

Is there an easier way to find the
memories? Ive been circling around hyrule castle for a while and cant find the spot for that one.

Ohh, you can do that? I tried jumping from another horse but I just ended up jumping backwards and assumed it wasn't possible. Gotta try that again!

This game XD

I didn't quite land on the other horse in one smooth motion. I landed in front of his ass and I was able to get on him before he kicked me in the face.

Please no spoilers regarding this question, but is there sort of a horror or haunted house themed location, area, dungeon or whatever in this game?

Surely any answer to this is sort of a spoiler?

Also, random question but is there an easy way to make fire? I keep running out of arrows and all that means is the second I find somewhere to cook I can't cook anything, because the fire is extinguished.

Find some flint, drop it near firewood and strike it with a metal weapon. It's gotta be right on top of the fire though or the spark won't do anything.

Loving this
photo/memory
hunt. Trying to parse everything out by
scouting out
the
world's landmarks
is much more fun than I would have imagined. It's pretty much all I've done since
repairing the slate
.
