I've got stuck on the Myham Agana Shrine. It has me pulling my hair out. I hate gyro controls in games and one that requires this level of delicacy is just maddening.
Yes, I thought of flipping the controller. Still nada.

I shat my pants the first time I got ("weather condition" spoiler)
a red moon.
I thought it was an enemy, I was so scared.
Lmao, I was checking Facebook with the game running and suddenly noticed ominous music and a red glare. I was like wtf and ran back to the controllers.

Love how lightning affects everything. You, enemies, stuff... Just had to laugh as a group of enemies died because they had metallic items on them :D

Just did an awesome quest to find a shrine in the snowy mountain region.
The one where you climb the mountain with the solo tree and look northwest to find a snow white bird.
Really cool use of the geography and great sense of adventure. This game is awesome.

Yeah, even after doing that it is still difficult. I used momentum and a quick flip up to get it in, but it still took me 10 tries.

Ok, someone just mentioned incomplete shrines are yellow on the map when you zoom in.

I just noticed that there's a chest icon next to the name if you have got all the loot, just blue name if you haven't. Great, that makes things a lot easier when backtracking.

Time to grab the
climbers bandana
after about 20 hours lol

I'm loving the little "spot the difference" puzzles to find koroks.

There was one really neat one in the
snow mountains where there was a ring of rocks and one of the rocks out of place. Placed it in the missing spot and a korok appeared.

The old man's suggestion about a high vantage point really helps

Yeah, I did that, and I found shrines in other regions, but not on the plateau. There is one on top of a mountain.but Link freezes to death if I go that way. I know I can eat the red peppers to mitigate that but if thats not where I'm supposed to go, I'm not going there.

I still can't figure it out, tried chopping down the tree with the most apples, nothing.
tried chopping down the trees with the least apples, nothing.

It seems strange that they are up in higher elevation and there are multiple instances of this.

Yeah i went there, couldn't figure it out either. There has to bee something

Pointing towards something?

Hey all,

I just have a quick question about an optional mini boss out in the field who had a necklace that dropped.

I believe he was a Hinox(First Zelda, sorry!) He wore a necklace with a giant sphere covered in orange runes, I assume its a Sheikah thing but what do I do with it?

Thanks a lot.

Where are people finding these korok puzzles?! I've played like 15 hours and not found any except ones hiding under rocks.

Koroks are practically everywhere. Any time you see something a little out of place, like a random stone, mysterious plant, stone circle with something missing, or sets of statues or whatever else with one thing off about them, a korok is there.

You put the sphere into a hole with orange markings. Where was it? What surrounding areas?

Surprised at how much of the plot is revealed to you right after the "tutorial" segment with the initial shrines. Feels very anime-y, but kind of in a classic shonen way that I sort of like.

I was surprised too. I thought
the old man was going to be a recurring, pretty major part of the whole game, but they got that (obvious) reveal of him being the king out of the way right there and then talked a whole bunch about the story.

Ok so I've played the game for a while and so far I've been doing absolutely nothing other than doing shrines and climbing towers. There are 4 main quests unlocked for me out of which one is basically defeat final boss, the other is something that requires me to go around the entire map to find shit so it'll take time and I guess it's not necessary for completion and the other two are basically proper "missions" where you go and do something. However I'm not sure I am powerful enough to do any of that. So basically I'm pretty much just going around the map hoping I'll bump into something or someone. This is quite an open ended design and I did not really expect it to be like this.

I'm curious to know if it is possible to challenge the final boss as soon as you leave the starting area? It probably is.

Anyways I want some help, basically can anyone point me to a dungeon or a place where I can get some proper gear?

In terms of pure square miles, yea it's pretty large, probably upper mid tier, quite a few games have larger map than this. However, the scale is smaller and as such you cover distance quicker. What I mean is that eventhough BoTW's map is estimated to be like 360sq miles it takes about 20 minutes or so to run from one end to another. By comparison, in GTA5 with its 81sq miles of map size it takes over 40 minutes to run from one end to another. And not to mention GTA5 also has a much more denser world than BoTW.

It's the same deal with something like Horizon and TW3. Despite TW3 being bigger, the time it takes to cover 400M in Horizon, you could cover over a KM in TW3. So raw numbers for size mean nothing.
20 mins to run from one end of the map to the other? I find that really hard to believe. Where is this sourced from?

Okay, I'm having a...semi-serious bug here. Not spoiler-ish, but I'll put it in tags

I don't know how I caused this, but the blood moon seems to be occurring every 5-10 minutes now and just instantly goes away, and I can't skip the cutscene for it. This is after I skipped it once, but it had been increasing its' frequency just before that

Anybody did Kass' sidequest, Hero's Cache?
On a pillar in the sea, the song goes "at 17 of 24 the pillar will show you the way" or something, I'm assuming I can find it at 17:00 or 5pm, but I don't see anything.

I tried using the pillar as a sundial but that just pointed towards the shrine and eventide island, and since this isn't a shrine quest I don't think either of those fit

Actually the world record for this game is around 1 hour and a half. You can go to ganon if you want and finish the game.

Re: help
i believe the king told you to find impa at kakariko village, try that. She will tell you to find someone else after that in another location. In both locations there are stores where you can buy armor.

The longer I play this game the better it gets

After exploring the world a lot I decided to continue with the main quest today,
Reached the Zora place and completed the first titan (elephant thing). Like how the progress is reflected in the world with the titan actually standing there now. Then I went into the desert end got to the Gerudo town.
So I got pretty far but will concentrate a bit more on sidequest stuff now.

The way the physics work and the different elements (fire, wind, ice, electricity, temperatures) interact in this game is really well done. How all this stuff works so naturally together is one of the biggest accomplishments of the game imo.

Did anyone else get an impossible Ruta fight?
After 3 orbs, I couldn't get the 4th. After the ice sequence, I always ended up on a side where I broke both. This happened literally a dozen times.
After I reset, I managed to get a proper sequence though.

I don't want to spoil it, but all I'll say is to look at your map and think of the Kass's song.

You are able to go to the final boss if you want. Being able to beat him in your condition at the start is something I'll leave to speedrunners though.

If you're looking for solid gear to help you get going, and a bit of adventure you could do like I did and sneak into Hyrule Castle not long after leaving the plateau. Plenty of strong gear there. If you are careful you can kill one or two monsters, take their weapon and then use it to kill others if you get forced into a fight. Otherwise you're largely looting the place.

I might've been able to reach Ganon, but I didn't want to so I stopped when it seemed like I was getting close (and it was pretty late at night by then too...).

I'm riding around hours later with the shields I got from that trip, and a couple of the weapons still.

Otherwise if you follow the main quest goals (aside from beating Ganon), I've found they generally take you into areas with gradually stronger enemies that would be akin to progression if the game were more linear.
