No spoilers please.

How long was it, how many hours, for you before you got to your first "dungeon"? Not shrines, you know what I'm talking about. I'm almost 15 hours in and I haven't done a single one yet, haha.
About 25 hours. I decided to go after the towers first.

I haven't been to a dungeon aside from Hyrule Castle and this is already my favorite game.

Gonna seek out a
divine beast
dungeon tonight.

What do you mean by "special" rewards? I've heard about Epona but do other amiibo have goodies like that?
Other amiibo have themed clothes or weapons based on them.

Sword of seals for Ganondorf, a Sheik outfit, Hero of Time costume, Hero of Twilight consume. Every Zelda character amiibo seems to have at least one exclusive item. Other than Smash Zelda, I'm not really sure what she has, since I haven't heard anything about it.

How do I know where to go to find the next memory? I found the first one just by recognizing the picture, am I supposed to just explore and find the rest as I go, or is there an NPC that tells you where to go or something?

People here are being stupid with the spoilers. Nonchalantly naming enemies, weapons, bosses, other shit. Spoiler your things, people. In this game, nobody's "early game" is the same

Bosses are one thing, but how is an enemy name a spoiler?

If I say "moblin" or "stalfos", that's doesn't spoil anything because those are in every zelda game and everyone knows them.

If I say "Yiga" or "Lynel", if you haven't seen these in game you have no idea what they are anyway.

No spoilers please.

21-22 hours before I stepped into a dungeon.

I spent soooooo much money in Hetano...

But I have a fully furnished house now with a bunch cool gear mounts!

Also I managed to beat the Major test of Strength shrine without using too much of my resources, and now I have some really good gear

How the fuck are you guys getting to Hyrule Castle already? I got blown up just trying to get to the Tower of that region.

And... can you actually get inside?

No you can get Epona plenty of times, it's just random. Epona is one of many things Smash Link will give you. I've gotten it like 3 times already, first time I got it was on the plateau.

Is there a list of all of the special items that Smash Link can give you?

Sneaking, climbing, gliding and stamina mangement. You can go anywhere as soon as you're off the plateau. There is always a way.

Oh man, I'd love to get the Sword of Seals... not sure if it's worth buying the amiibo for, though...

Poking around I found THIS GUIDE that says Smash Zelda has her Twilight Princess bow. Can't vouch for how accurate it is, though.

Central Hyrule
?

I had 2 fully functional guardians after me there, really is unfair. I hope you get some super armor or one hit arrows on them or something.

Yeah, theirs multiple entrances. If you want a particular spoiler free one, Check Giantbombs quicklook, They got in just after getting off the Plateau.

I got to the end with just three hearts, but I have double stamina

Nothing is stopping you from going straight to the final boss once you get the Paraglider. The catch is you can't realistically kill anything so you have to stealth your way through, and everything kills you in 1 hit.

It's awesome.

How does that work? Run me through it?

You install the app on your phone, then sync it to your Switch. Then it tells you how long you've been playing your games. Memory's hazy, but I don't think you need to do anything else, but if you do, it's pretty straightforward.

what happens if you actually get inside?

Dodging Guardians is hard, but not that hard lol

As for what happens:
When you get near it, a quick cutscene happens. Then you have to get inside it, and stuff happens. I won't say what, but I got some neat items and then bailed because it was too hard.

There a re multiple ways to enter. I have been there myself but returned back quickly because I only have a Boko club with me then lol.

I died a lot and skulked around until I found a an abandoned rail passage. Explored until I reached a prison area with enemies that one-shot me.

Basically I got the tower because my stamina upgrades let me speed up my ascent to avoid guardian lasers. Then I glided to the shrine. From there it was hard as fuck to find the passage in which I died over and over. I just scouted the perimeter to find said passage.

Goddammit a thunderstorm and
a Blood Moon
all on the same night? Come on Nintendo, I wanted to wait this one out. :(

l climbed, or more accurately ran all the way to the top of one of these gigantic pillars surrounding the castle and paraglided down to an underground passageway.

Died a lot but found some pretty nifty weapons.

The
Rito
town and dungeon, including the boss, was super easy. Way easier than the
Zora
one I did first. I found parts of that quite difficult, and even then, I'm sure the way I solved parts of that dungeon weren't the intended way. And man, that
wind up draft ability
you get would have been so useful for the
Zora dungeon boss
:/

This game is fantastic though, so engrossed in the world. So much to see and do. Loving the towns and stables scattered around, they have such a cool feel to them. Favourites have been
Hateno Village and the Rito Town
. Love how there's so many side quests and collectables that feel really important. Whether it's Korok seeds, shrine orbs, memories, clothing and armour or the actual main quest, it all feels important and gives you the feeling of progression in a satisfying way.

Shrines really are a great way to break up the gameplay too. They're the perfect size. And love the music in them! Downbeat electronica with some cool strings. Only done 30ish of them so far, so still plenty to go! Barely found any Korok seeds though :( only about 18 or something I think.

The difference between this and skyward sword is incredible. A complete 180 from it. Feels so so much more massive and epic, and not just in world size. It feels like a really expensive blockbuster AAA game (with some Nintendo quirks still), whereas skyward sword didn't really to me. But yeah, as others have said, it feels like the first zelda game that's aware of what other games are out there. And it doesn't copy them, but it does learn from them.

Having such a great time with this game, and got heaps more to do in it

Last night I decided to sneak into Hyrule castle after multiple NPCs mentioned all of the riches left behind during the events of 100 years ago. So I drafted my way in from the back on a raft and raided the
library
. My brief time running around in there was super intense, the music was legendary epic, and damn the attention to detail was so great. I got some great gear and paraglided out of there and ducked behind a hill right before a guardian shot off its laser.

I love this game.

I have no idea, I die to the guardians immediately.

Also, anyone know how to find more memory clues like the
painter gave?

I've been able to find most of them by looking for landmarks in the photos and triangulating. Put your detective hat on!

I havnt even been to a beast objective yet and because of that i feel like im wasting time.
Getting survival vibes off the game and i frankly dont like it.
Like do i really have to craft heat resistant shit to get to that area of the map or can I just buy armor that does it for me?

I've found three mini games so far.
A gliding course hosted by a Rito on an island, A Zelda 1 style money making game in a town, and a deer hunting challenge in another town.

I've found like five or six and haven't found the ones you guys are mentioning. This game is crazy big.

Whats safe to sell?

Everything has a use evetually, but some things are safe to sell early on. Gems and stuff like amber. Monster parts too, but keep some of those (like 20 or so each.)

Making rupees is hard if you sell nothing. Focus on gems early imo.

I set it up... and there are no records. Guess I should have done this at the start? :(

Why no Activity Log or playtime counter in Zelda? :(

Fire rod and lit torches also suffice.

Ah damn, I suppose so.
