Despite my issues with this game, I think this may take the cake for my favorite Zelda game finally surpasing Windwaker in my book. And it's easily one of the best games I've played. I've never been so engrossed in an open world to the point of just wanting to wander and explore every knook and cranny to see what i can discover.

Not even touching the main quest at all or focusing or side quests, just kind of letting the journey take me aimlessly throughout the world and it's an unmatched experience and giving me feelings of joy and wonder like no other open world game has quite been able to do.

Man, I'm jealous of some of these armors. In some videos Link looks to be
wearing full plate armor
, yet I barely got some duds at the
Rito village
that was costly. :/

I'm living off with my climbing gear that was the prizes from shrines lol. I have yet to buy a single clothing gear from this game.

Is there no way to full screen the photos you take with the camera? Seems weird to have a selfie mode but unable to take full size pics to share.....

I spent nearly 5 hours this afternoon soley exploring the southeastern corner region of the map.
It's like a beautiful rainforest
. It took me over an hour to even find the tower becasue of the vertical terrain.

Ive searched for hours on Hebra mountain and for the life of me cant find "the bird in the mountains". Anyone solve this? ive explored so much of the north west

this fucking game man

just beat my second dungeon and boss battle. so far I've done the
zora
and
rito
one. I have absolutely loved these parts of the game. seriously I can't stop myself from hyperbole with this game now but because you feel like you're on your own adventure in a huge, varied, and expertly designed game world when you decide to go for one it feels so natural and unique. there's so much player agency in figuring out when and how to tackle one, embarking, approaching, and arriving that the build up in pacing feels more personal and then when you get put on the treadmill, so to speak, it feels earned and relevant to your adventure.

it's hard to put this game into words tbh but man, I am loving it. I started really loving it immediately off the plateau and it's just keeps growing on me.

I don't remember what the village is called. It's next to the research facility.

20 hours in and I still haven't tamed a horse, it's a hassle and I don't even feel like I need one.

Second town

Must have missed it. lol

And man, I was in the desert going after a shrine when all the sudden a sandstorm hit and knocked out my rader and map. I blindly walked into a camp full of lizard men. I got rekt. :(

Trying to decide between a OoT Link Amiibo and a Wind Waker one. Are there any pics of what that gear looks like in BotW?

Ocarina has the better weapon
(Biggoron's Sword vs Toon Link's Boomerang)
. The clothing looks very similar to each other, with only minor details different (like hair style and Toon Link's swirly belt), since they're both just green tunics with white pants and a pointy green hat.

Also Toon Link's gear works for both Toon Link amiibo, so you can pick up the much cheaper Smash one. The Hero of Time gear is exclusive to only the Ocarina Link amiibo.

The bird isn't a real bird, it's the bird-outlined mountain down to the northwest. There's a shrine hidden around there.
Go back to the tree with the cloth around the base and look again.

Huh... I'm not sure why but I just noticed that I suddenly see the health over the enemies' health bar? Like a "32/32"... Maybe I'm crazy but I'm pretty sure that this wasn't there before?

In regard to the bolded, you just did a pretty good job. :)

I need to talk to someone please. I'm I the only one who feels a tremendous sense of depression while playing this game. Why can't I lose myself to what is easily the best designed open world I have ever seen? I would like to know that it's a period I'm going through and not the game. Please private message me if you have similar feelings

Went into this game blind with the last Zelda game I played being Windwaker. Just walking around exploring the blood moon was so cool, I encountered two
golems?
and it was awesome.

Just saw
Farosh
at this lake and had to take photos and spent 30 minutes trying to do something with it

I love the freedom and sense of adventure this game has. After beating the tutorial I decided to say screw it and go the opposite way the game told me to go - West and found myself in the desert region. Taking out a
Molduga
with 3 hearts feels AMAZING. Also the puzzles both in AND out of the shrines are fantastic.

How do I make the controls more manageable?

I find the games logic isn't meshing with mine. Everything seems backwards interns of the select button, cancel button etc.

Everyone goes through this phase while playing this game. There is that moment where you keep dying and really have no idea what to do or why as your Goddamn weapons keep breaking and the rain won't stop.

Anyways, my advice is to learn how to to cook so enemies aren't one shotting you, you can improve resistance, attack power, defense, you name it. And then just do the story missions. You'll get back on track eventually.

i just noticed the
elephant on the loading screen after beating the first dungeon
i wonder if they add the rest after doing the other dungeons

Two questions:

Is there a reliable way to make rupees early game? I'd like to buy some armor.

Also, I just upgraded
the slate at the 2nd village and then went and got the memory quest with Impa
is there any obvious place to go next, or should I just explore? I ran into the
Zora Prince
but the game had been pretty linear up until that point, so I'd rather not face anything too out of my range for now.

The music is so beautiful.

It makes me wish we had a little more themes sprinkled in rather than a lot of atmospheric stuff in the overworld and in the shrines.
