It amazes me how many people
miss the Zora helm because they just hurry up to get shock arrows and then head to the Divine Beast without searching Toto Lake for the helm.

I don't see why. I always keep one or two mediocre weapons and I replace them when I kill weaker enemies.
I do this too. It's a sad reality of what the weapon durability system leads to. Was cool at first, encouraging you to try a lot of different stuff, but the better weapons should really last way longer.

This game really should have given you the opportunity to unlock unbreakable weapons. The game world is so huge and rich, there are so many cool little places where they could hide exciting secrets. The mostly succeed at hiding useful and fun secrets, but weapons/shields/bows are definitely a weakpoint. Ideally, I think it would have been nice to find 1 of most weapon types that would have middling power and never break.

The Master Sword here is one of the biggest disappointments in a video game for me. Just awful. And I'm fine with the Hylian shield breaking, but they should have had a Mirror shield some place that would reflect things and not ever break.

I think they squandered these opportunities in order to make other weapons still interesting. I don't think it was very successful though, the end result is that almost all weapons end up kinda useless in my eyes; I don't get excited finding weapons, I get annoyed.

How do I climb the tower in the central area, with disabled guardians shooting lasers at me?

What about the tower to the northwest in the middle of the lake with wizzrobes blasting me?

I mean i even prepared a shit ton of buff food for Ganon and waited for all My cooldowns. Barely used any food during the fight and the only cooldown used was the shield one. I was like okay... not much of a challenge :o

Is anyone else playing in handheld mode over docked due to much better frame rate?

I'm just playing in handheld mode when I'm lying in bed, the frame drops are rare enough after the plateau that they don't bother me too much.

Exception being the jungle, that place chugs along at times.

I think he's at a stable just west of
central hyrule if I recall correctly

I haven't even been there yet. I am constantly underestimating how big this map really is. The map I've been exploring so far, which is basically just the northeastern most province, could be the whole game and I wouldn't be upset.

I think the general method of beating the central tower is to kill a guardian and stick to that side.

And for wizzrobes? Kill 'em all.

I killed the disabled Guardians before making the climb. They're in a location where you can cheese them quickly and get on with life.

The tower has little platforms where you can crouch to hide. Maybe the default stamina isnt enough

You can time it just right. They are positioned so there are blind spots and only one can target you as you climb each section. Would also help with climbing gear but I managed it with no stamina upgrades and no gear.

Doing the
blue fire
quest for
robbie.

Rained halfway through so I found a shelter and started a fire so I can rest through it. Took multiple rests to finally get a session with no rain.

Almost reached
robbie's furnace with the blue flame
and it rained again.

FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU *incoherent angry noises*

Same here. And after I finally got to stop raining, blood moon. I'm convinced it rains 9 times out of 10 in that fucking area

Heck you can use the Korok Leaf to disarm some enemies, take their weapons and kill them with it. I don't see the issue people are having with durability.

I don't either. I finally got some good weapons, but just keep a spare club or spear for the easy stuff. I'm constantly rejecting weapons because I have no more space. I feel like people get into this hoarding mentality and it's to their own detriment as it kills a large aspect of the game.

All I did was just climb, and when they're about to fire, abruptly jerk to a different direction so they missed.

But I had enough stamina to do that. Not sure how to do it if you have lower stamina and can't afford to jump around while climbing.

I did it with lowest stamina.
Mipha's Grace
saved me tho.

easiest to hardest
1) bird dungeon

Very short and the dungeon is painfully simple and straightforward. The boss doesn't even seem capable of hitting the player. I beat him without taking even one hit.

2) goron

Dungeon required a little tinkering but nothing too bad. Boss was simple, and, again, I didn't even take one hit.

3) zoro

A little trickier but still not bad. Boss was pretty easy.

4) guruden

This is the only dungeon that I found difficult (I basically just fumbled around for 2 hours until I accidentally got through it) and the only boss that was even slightly challenging. I still beat him on the first go, though

Cheers, thanks.

Because it just gets dumb beyond a certain point. I think it even encourages more hoarding because you are going to want to keep as much crap as you can find because it all breaks. I do use junk for the weaker enemies but I don't know.

I found out that none of the dungeon bosses were challenging except for
the lightning guy, the dungeon puzzle was also the most complex of 4 but it was still rather simple.

Then again I used the master sword for all of them except
the water guy
. Although I do have weapons nearly as powerful as that sword.

The
flameblight
was the only one that gave me pause but once I figured out his gimmick he died in seconds lol.

I love the way I figured it out, I was taking cover from his charge up explosion when I noticed an arrow that had missed and was just sitting on the floor was getting drawn to his charged attack, so I was like wait...what if I throw a bomb at it like the dodongo. I was so giddy when it worked lol

I've stopped working as much about it and use most of my god weapons everywhere. At most I keep my most powerful single weapon unused and after that use whatever I want. The game throws so many good weapons at you through shrines and enemies that I'm always finding stronger ones anyway.

You can't have your cake and eat it, so I'm eating it.

I probably could have been happy with this game being half as big as it is. There's some tedium in feeling like there's so much to do, but that's just how I am with open world games.

Eh, but the great thing about this game is that you're not forced to. You could just stick to the story, maybe do a few shrines, and then be done with it. What I find astounding about the game is that it's the first one that genuinely makes me want to try to explore as much as possible, because despite its size, it actually has a shit ton of stuff to see and do. That the distractions I continually come across are completely welcome. I don't feel like the open world is in the way so to speak, compared to its contemporaries.

rain doesn't effect the blue fire though

It definitely did for me. I was quite annoyed by it myself.

They really should have tweaked a couple of things about the rain mechanic, particularly things like making blue fire not affected and having a climbing in rain gloves upgrade somewhere.

Well if you miss the tablet then you get no clue there's anything there. I'm more confused why people keep thinking you have to
fight the Lynel. They almost come out and specifically tell you not to.

The funny thing is that you dont even have to stick to the main story. Ganon is beatable without doing anything. I myself only did half of the main quest before I went to fight ganon and beat it.

Can you go back and finish the rest of the missions once this is done? I have no intention of doing it but I'm curious.

Jumping around a lot and a bit of luck, I had my heart in my throat the whole time.

lol same didn't even think of killing the guardians

Talking about this tower... I tried to head to the shrine at the castle's outskirt but there are these drone + guardians patrolling... still debating if I should go for it

So I para-glided to an island but when I touch it the screen fades to white and I appear back where I set off from.

What's all that about?
