So I'm filling out my compendium and I drop one of my star fragments on the floor to take a photo of it. The second it hits the ground A BLOOD MOON STARTS. And there's no fucking 10 second warning or whatever, the screen just immediately turns red and fades out. After the cutscene OF COURSE the star fragment is gone!

Is this a known use of star fragments? Does putting one on the ground trigger a blood moon? Or was a glitch? Cuz I'm friggennnnn pisssedddddd.

Lakeside stable quest

So while I was exploring here i got this quest from someone in the stable about the lightning and I should find out why it happens so often. I see a dragon with lightning things around him flying in this area too but I wonder what I do here? He doesn't seem to have any corruption on him like Naydra had.

Hint:
It's not about the frequency of lightning, it's about it hitting something.

GAF,

How do I defeat these mini little Guardian shrines.

They fuck me up =C

Both of them that I am struggling at are near Eventide Island.

it can be easily done without taking any damage
just block all the time, with a shield and 1h weapon

then learn to dodge their moves, they are different depending on the weapons they have.

they are basically dodge trainers, but they can't hurt you if you block all the time

There're a lot of ways, but parry is the key.

I see, my issue comes down to whittling away their health. The bar barely seems to move no matter what weapon I have equipped.

Speaking of Shrines
------------------------------

I'm really enjoying the shrines, some of them can be quite puzzling but rewarding when you figure them out. Also it is fun climbing a mountain and finding a hidden shrine cloaked in fog that has been waiting to be discovered.

Just finished it. I adore the game and it easily a ten for me. Not sure where I would place it in my all time greats at the moment but its up there. My only real disappointments were how easy the final boss is and how easy and short the divine beasts felt for me.

Thank you. Now I wish I had noticed this myself but sometimes I get impatient hahaha. Now to find out what to do with this scale. One would think I have to place it in the Spring like with Naydra. Tried it in the Riola Spring, but nope.

IIRC, both of those shrines are "Major" tests, which are meant to be tackled in that latter 3rd of the game once you have weapons that do 40+ DMG. If you are struggling, come back to them later with better gear.

If you're still talking about solving the same quest,
the scale has nothing to do with it. It's far more mundane than that.

Think about what the quest giver is telling you about what gets hit, and how that might happen.

One is minor - If you buff Attack power and just stay behind them you can take them out in the first few hours of the game. I did it when I first visited Hateno Village.

Up to 108 Shrines. I have one Shrine Quest (shoot the arrow thru two rings? Couldn't figure that one out first time around but haven't been back yet). And then there's two areas I haven't really explored. But pretty sure I'm going to have to resort to a guide to get over the top to 120.

Are you talking about
modest and major tests of strength
? In that case, (shrine spoilers)
you will want to stock up on shock arrows, since the guardians are weak to it, and it shocks them and creates an opportunity to strike. Stay on the defensive, keep well clear of the sword and axe (these instakill even with 10+ hearts), and get a few blows in when possible. When the guardian does the circling laser, stand well back and blast a few normal arrows for basically free damage. In the final stage, it will be shooting lasers that instantly kill you, so shoot arrows while staying well back, and sprint side to side when he starts shooting (which happens when the cloud around him has become very small). Keep at it and use powerful weapons: these enemies are some of the strongest I have encountered in 60 hours of playing.

finished up with my last divine beast and am now getting ready for hyrule castle

out of curiosity, how would everyone rate the various "sections" (not sure how else to refer to them) of the game in terms of personal enjoyment?

i would go zora > gerudo > rito > goron

Haha, no no I finished that one.

It really is about the scale now for me. Need to figure out what it's for. I'll follow the dragon first, see where he goes to.

No climbing in rain is fine and I like how it works with the Zora entrance quest. I do wish they'd introduced some post-game weather manipulation saxophone or something, tho. At this point I want to be doing silly experiments with lightning and clearing out clouds just for the sake of visibility and stuff.

The last phase is easy if you get right up next time him and constantly circle. You'll have a chance to attack after his attacks all miss.

im assuming left is most enjoyable cause some countries do it differently but

gerudo > goron > zora > rito

rito was almost non existent but the village was cool. Dungeon was a snooze too. Gerudo had the best side stuff and dungeon imo. Bananas lol. Gorons stealth stuff was good too. Zora was okay but it was mostly fighting enemies for the side stuff.

I just finished it.

I have 30.85% completion rate. I got over 30! Success!

Edit: 110 hours. God damn.

that completion rate is really a sad joke. apparently 1 korok seed gives about the same % as a divine beast.

come on, I did not miss 70% of the fucking game.

I think you are making it too hard,
for the laser that circles, use the upstream created by the laser to glide above the guardian and do a falling attack to start a combo.
For the final laser, parry it once, it will die. I dont remember it being a 1hko ever, so you can try as many times as you want.

I like the mechanic, but the rain shouldn't be as common and yeah they should have provided armor(or food?) to help us in this situation.

If theres armor that can make you swim up waterfalls somehow there should be some that lets you not slip in rain. Thought that was the climbing gear but noooope

There is a climbing set, all three pieces are located in shrines.

This one fucked me up, because the description of the chest piece says SLIP PROOF and yet your ass still slips. I was hoping the chest alone was a no slip bonus similar to the zora chest piece letting you swim up waterfalls. Severely disappointed.

You can only find 3 fairies at a time right?

Been cutting grass all the time, especially when waiting for rain to finish. Keep getting the rice and restless crickets but feels like the fairies cap out.

There might have been a chance for me to get 4 at one point but I missed it, since then I seem to be limited to 3, but maybe it just gets super rare.

i can only hold 3 at a time. i just pluck them from the great fairy fountains

Nah, the mechanic is just broken because there is no work around other than waiting or bailing from where you currently are. If I am climbing a cliff and it starts raining I am completely fucked.

How to get hundreds of arrows in a few mins

WiiU_screenshot_TV_01C95.jpg

1. Go to the tiny island east of Eventide Island
2. Use brain
3. Save
4. Reload
5. 2.

You're welcome!

For one dragon I needed a scale but he never flew around the area where I dropped it.

To be fair completing a divine beast doesn't take that much longer than getting a korok seed.

This explains much. My weapons are in the 20-35 range right now.

Mostly I use hit and run tactics on monster forts, takes a while but I always find cool stuff *o*

If you have enough stamina you can still jump up a mountain as it rains.

But yeah, climbing gear should be patched to fix that.

anyone else think hearty durians when cooked are OP? Each one is the equivalent of a fairy and if you can stock up on like 20 easily in the jungle region. As long as an attack isnt a 1 hit k.o. theres no way you'll ever die
