Oh god no, that would be awful.Nintendo really cheaped out on that 32GB internal memory. An external HDD will basically be required very soon.
Hopefully we'll get another hw version with an internal hdd.
Hopefully we get some clarification today from news outlets contacting devs/pubs.

Why?
Why?
Yup i agree, this could turn into being a big issue if they don't with future releases.Feels like Nintendo themselves are going to have to address this. It's hard to believe that publishers are taking these risks to upset customers without a cause behind it. A change to how Nintendo is charging for the cartridges may be necessary or something.
I hope that's not what they do because it is partially on them for having such little storage and such higher costs for the cartsThe only news I need is a statement from Nintendo banning this.

A side issue, but Nintendo insists upon price parity for digital/physical releases of games.
Going digital-only is a good solution to this issue, but I can see why a mass-market game like Lego might not want to do this.

Isn't Lego City kinda small? Imagine this being done with huge games.
This is bullshit if the game won't start without the download.
I remember this was "brainstormed" by the Forza devs before the release of the XB1, to release an unplayable disc version without an online download. Of course MS fanboys defended it but the wider game community called it out for the bullshit it was and the devs soon backed down.
Nintendo needs to stop with stupid ass digital prices must be same as retail prices policy . Never saw a backward company like them

Well from the sound of it they're actually trying to sell us only disc 1 of the ff7 remake and then they'll sell the other discs later onThis is like square only selling disc 1 of ff7 and making you download the rest of it.

It's kinda fascinating how many people are trying to blame the Switch's small internal storage for this...that's not the issue at all here folks.
So let me get this straight...
They thought "Let's sell an incomplete game on a cartridge instead of making our customers pay more."?
That's a bold strategy.
Switch is your first internet connected console?Nintendo needs to stop with stupid ass digital prices must be same as retail prices policy . Never saw a backward company like them
Sixty dollar up-res of a four year old game and they're pinching pennies on the cartridge costs. Sounds like WB all right.

More fascinating is watching people defend it.
It's just irrelevant to this post.
The issue isn't that just that a game has a patch. It's that the game has a huge MANDATORY patch purely because they were too cheap to put the whole game on the cart.
Regardless of how you feel about switchs intenral storage, it's crappy for a publisher to do this.
More fascinating is watching people defend it.
Let's not act like WB couldn't afford a bigger cart in this scenario. The margins on this game are automatically bigger because it's a port of a 4 year old game.
It's kinda interesting that no one seems to care that a lot of PC hard copies of don't come with 90% if the data either. option Sr the worst
I can't imagine why someone would defend WB Games only including a third of the game on the cartridge. That's just asking for problems in the future.
Last time it happened was for that all-mightydisaster called Tony Hawk's Pro Skater V.poo
Oh, do go on. Don't stop there, I'm sure you have brilliant economic theories to share.
The telltale games are also kinda guilty. Some of the physical ones (batman for example) are released with only one episode on the disc and then a code for the season pass. So that sucks too.
I don't mind that as much because at least it's episodic. But I still think they should just wait until they're all done.
But crap like this and thps 5 are complete crap. Not sure what the reasoning was with thps. But obviously the reasoning here is worthy of all the hate.
