Yup. Lots of overreactions.

Trump just fired 70 cruise missiles into another country, Do you have any faith that this was a considered, tactical decision or do you think he just saw something on fox news and had at worst an emotional response or the other worst wanted something to make him more popular?

Because the second one gets lots and lots of people killed. Nothing we have seen to date suggests the second one wouldn't be the case.

No foreign intervention was literally a primary issue as for why some people voted Trump. These people honestly believed electing Hillary would lead is to WW3 with Russia.

Yo, this means you're going to accept Syrian refugees right? You just don't drop the bomb and let other countries deal with the victims

That's the more likely scenario though. If they do start larger attacks in Syria they should definitely take in refugees, but we have Trump and his goons in charge. Fuck this unempathetic administration.

If they're purposefully targeting government forces, isn't that an act of war? I don't remember the US directly targeting Assad before this (beyond that one accident)
Well sure, it's "war" in the same way Russia bombing the rebels is. As much as Assad likes to claim it, he doesn't own Syria any more. It's a stateless country being used as a proxy war between countries. All this is a slight escalation of a proxy war that Assad started.

Anyways, Russia and Iran ain't gonna do shit they haven't already done before. Russia is going to ramp up escalations in Eastern Europe, and Iran is going to fuck with US warships. No one is crazy enough to attack each other because of this.

Bombing middle eastern countries seems to be a bipartisan pastime. My cynicism leads me to believe that this is unlikely to be negative for Trump.

It's all a bad dream it's all a bad dream.

Starting a war pushed George W. Bush from 25% to much higher ratings. Jingoistic drum beating to unify around an enemy.
Good point, but this was a long time ago, and not to mention this was coming off the heels of September 11, which was a national nightmare and basically impacted everybody's lives here in this country one way or another. Not that I don't feel bad for the victims in Syria, but, it may not have as profound of an effect on Americans' mindset in regards to the importance of a military response.

We shall see.

I've had a fear since the cheeto took office of waking up and we're in a war. It feels like it's going to happen..

I 100% would not put it past Trump to be doing this just to try and move attention away from the fact that his crooked administration is falling apart week by week.

That's absolutely guaranteed. He's been itching for military action somewhere from day one, long before this Syrian chemical attack. I would imagined me he hopes it's a good distraction along with the best chance for reelection.

Hitting the airfield isn't the wrong move, but the way Trump spins from one side to the next daily just shows his concern is, as always, more about what he thinks benefits him at the time.

Sort of.

It's the right action. But the fact that trump is in charge is what is fucking killing me right now. Had Obama taken measures like this back in 2012, I wouldn't be as worried

I'm sorry, but in 2012 Obama didn't even explore the possibility of the Russia leading a transition of governance that meant Assad would leave office. So no, Syria is Obama's failure too.

Trump is at a fucking resort while ordering consequential strikes against a foreign nation.
What are you going on about. It's the Winter White House, a historical and treasured symbol of American exceptionalism and manifest destiny

Others have said it, but it bears repeating. People would have expected Obama or Clinton to handle this with tact. But they're not dealing with this. An impulsive manchild is. One who apparently can wage war from a golf course.

An impulsive manchild whose bosses have an interest in the very people said manchild is attacking at that.
No one is waging war. Obama spent the last 4 years utilizing drone strikes in the middle east (and he spent his fair share of time on the golf course too) and so have our allies. The attack was deliberately focused on a military installation where the chemical attack was launched from. It's mind fucking boggling that ANYONE would oppose this considering what Assad is hell bent on doing. We can only condemn his actions for so long before he used chemical weapons.

That's because the US itself was attacked and patriotism shot through the roof. Not at all the same situation here.

See if Trump had a competent administration that actually thought things through instead of saying one thing in the morning and saying something else by the evening or people saying different things I wouldn't be this concerned. A response I agree was necessary but I don't have the impression any of this was thought through and think this was done for the wrong reasons with Trump.Hate for him aside I don't believe anyone on that team is running a competent ship here. Maybe the military generals but even they need to be reigned in.

50+ missiles? That seems like a lot to me.

Also people forget, people who voted for trump were not the usual Republicans. His voters were nationalists and isolationists, people are tired of war.

You misspelled "super racist" but sure.

If any Trump voters were actually isolationists, they're probably kind of bummed.

Im afraid that people are so against Trump that they will align themselves with Assad/Russia just to be contrarian. Already seeing people come up with conspiracy theories connecting this and the pee tapes and that this whole thing is a distraction and that we shouldnt be getting involved in Syria even though it was messed up because US citizens weren't hurt....

Even though that was the GOP stance a week ago?

Please dont let your hatred of Trump turn you into a breitbart/alt-right equivalent. Stay away from the koolaid and dont go off the deepend for your political beliefs.

That Piece of shit Milo Yilofuckface just posted this

There comes a day in every child's life when his Daddy bitterly disappoints him.

I'm guessing his approval ratings are going to drop from this if that's any indication. In a post 9/11 world I don't think anyone wants to be involved in conflicts, comments of some very disappointed supporters too. Maybe this ends up being the worst thing he could do politically.

Yeah that's a 70 million dollars worth of explosives but I mean come on....Gassing people, you don't go unpunished for gassing people, you guys want to talk about nazi level evil, thats Assad

Why do people keep harping on this? The US could've dropped $700 million worth of explosives. The problem is what happens tomorrow and in the days ahead. The US dollars spent is not an issue for the US.

The ideal solution would have been No-Fly zone since 2012, but since UN cannot do anything since Russia are blocking every resolution against Assad, there was not so many solution here.

Obama should have done the same thing, i am honestly surprised and happy that Assad is getting stabbed by Trump, but wait and see what will follow...

The Russians were already warned ahead of time. I'm positive Putin's completely fine with this, at this point.

Lolwut?! You actually believe the Kremlin, which has poured its military and financial assets, at great expense to itself, into propping up the Assad regime is HAPPY that Trump (their supposed ally) is now bombing the shit out of their Baathist friends?? Yeah sure buddy.

That applies to you as well. Moreso, even.
