Nintendo Direct on April 12 (3PM PT, Switch/3DS, mainly Splarms)

I don't expect much from a Direct just months away from E3.

Just show me footage of FE Warriors and I'll be happy.

agreed

cant wait to see Lorde Ike in gorgeous HD action

Seems like I'm wrong, I was under wrong assumption then. Whend did they confirm it to be a new campaign?

shortly after the game was announced

I believe the Treehouse confirmed it first, said the new campaign takes place 2 years after the first one. that's all we know right now.

First big direct since switch launch. Let's do this. Please confirm splatoon 1 campaign is in splatoon 2 :p

Splatoon 2 and ARMS sounds exciting enough for me. Hopefully detailing Splatoon 2's singleplayer and a few more fighters for ARMS.

But since 3DS is also mentioned, I'm hoping for some more details on Ever Oasis too

Fully expect they'll save the "Good" announcements for e3 (as they should, to be honest), but in addition to ARMS/Splatoon (plus release dates) I could see the Fire Emblem 3DS game, maybe a new 3DS title (apparently everyone keeps saying Pikmin, guess thats the hot rumor, I could see that).

I also feel like it's a good time to dump a lot of the operating system stuff. You don't want to waste e3 time with Netflix announcements, or stuff about your online system. Hopefully they throw in the VC bone as well.

That sort of allows you to go into e3 showing nothing but games, games, games.

So there are more ARMS fighter that the one Nintendo has shown so far? that's awesome.
I am getting this game day 1 but didn't know there were more fighters still not being shown.

Safe bet:

MK8D
FE Echoes
Ever Oasis
Pikmin 3DS

Wish they'll say something about Switch OS updates and maybe My Nintendo Switch rewards. A Kirby collection/new game for 25 anniversary is still possible.

Really hope to see concrete release dates for these two games.

Nintendo shouldn't go more than a month without a first-party game with their underwhelming third party support. I think other companies will fill in gaps, but Nintendo's doing heavy lifting this year.

ARMS and Splatoon 2 both look good, though they're not system sellers to me. Still hyped for the presentation.

Pikmin 3DS isn't a rumor. It was announced and shown last year.

Mmk, very curious how that will work out then. They'll need a lot of confidence in the battle system if that's the whole game.

Well they did there were other modes. I'm hoping for a "Break the Targets" type of mode (from Smash) for this game. It'll help you learn arm movements and whatnot. Also, I'm hoping there's a single player campaign or something.

Man, they had me until I read that it was mostly focused on Splatoon 2 and ARMs. I mean, I'll probably pick up Splatoon 2, but ARMs just looks mediocre.

I await the Animal Crossing direct, presumably later this summer.

So what are we expecting from this? My hype is kinda meh hearing the focus is on Splatoon and Arms but do we think there's a possibility of hearing some other kind of interesting Switch news?

Not interested in those games, any chance at a game reveal? Really don't want to watch if all it is, is these 2 games.

Almost every major Nintendo Direct has a new game reveal, now it may be a 3DS game, but i'm hoping for something for Switch, which needs some reveals

Yes. They specify that it will cover other Switch and 3DS games. People always take the words of "focus on" way too literally. We get it all the time. One time they say it'll focus mostly on 3DS games, so people assume that means no Wii U stuff, then we get Wii U announcements. Another they say it focuses on Spring, but we get a crapload of Summer and Autumn announcements and so forth

Very hopeful for an ARMS release date, and maybe a character.

"mainly" is kinda suspect, but usually when they specify game titles they stick to it. If they specify a timing window that's when they tend to throw in other surprises. This time I don't expect anything but an info dump for these two.

Release dates maybe? What can we expect for splatoon and arms

Eh, there's a lot to talk about with ARMS in particular. They could show us more characters. Talk about new modes we don't know about. Talk about the structure of the game. Is it fighting game style, with a simple "arcade" mode for single player? Or, is there a larger campaign? All of these are things they could go over.
