Nintendo Direct on April 12 (3PM PT, Switch/3DS, mainly Splarms)

Brace yourself. 3DS will remain a focus for Nintendo until the end of the year at the earliest.

It's not even the focus now. What are you talking about? We've had a handful of 3DS game announcements since the Switch was revealed and launched (many of which were in development for a while and are releasing soon). There are only 2 far off titles for the 3DS, the FE Musou one and SMT, and the Switch is getting projects in both of those series as well

But seriously if that VC news is true that's awesome.

Triple Box could be the name of the retail compilation of Box, Boxbox and Byebye + amiibo.

It could...they can definitely announce the us release of the last game and (let's dream) a retail release similar to the JP one. But this does not confirm the validity of the leak since it is already known the game is planned for the US.

I just realized there's a file called "SilverFox" in the picture as a throwback to the only real leak of a Nintendo Direct which had a file called "LittleBird" lmao.

I literally have no desire to ever pick up my 3ds ever since I got my switch.

Please move development to the switch. I want all those new 3ds games on my switch, Nintendo!!!!!

no of course not cuz lol Nintendo

it would have been great if they did like they literally said

but hey there was money on the table so whatever
When did they say they were going to stop supporting the 3DS after the Switch released? I remember them saying the exact opposite.

It's not really a focus anymore for Nintendo from a development perspective.

From an internal development perspective, this is true and has been for awhile. But they likely still have a number of titles to announce for the system.

Not the focus. I never said that. But it's clearly still important for Nintendo and more games will almost certainly be announced.

I mean, as long as it doesn't hold back the Ice Climbers from coming back or any other content for the Switch version, I don't see the problem.

im not too worried since they were basically two separate games outside of the ice climbers example

still im still puzzled by the desire to make a new 3DS exclusive cross gen version

Yeah same. Only thing keeping me attached to my 3DS are the backlog for it (along with DS's.)

Its funny because I haven't touched my 3DS in almost two months and despite the fact that I have 20+ JRPGs between my 3DS and DS I still plan on picking up the next Fire Emblem game next month
I haven't even finished Fates yet either

Honestly, I have a 3DS from launch day and I kinda wish Nintendo would just lay it to rest. Put out one last game and then focus on Switch. Ever Oasis should be that game. It had a good run, but it's time to let go.

yes i know

its been a persistent tune after they sold a bunch of 3ds over the last holiday

the last time we heard from nintendo they were still coming out with 3ds games so theres literally no chance they said they were going to stop supporting it even if they intended to, which they didnt. you have a source?

I look forward to complaints about them spending too much time on ARMS and Splatoon 2, when they said beforehand that they were mostly going to be showing ARMS and Splatoon 2.

That list if almost believable if it weren't for Smash For New 3DS - this would be fucking insane if they actually planned on doing a port of the Wii U version. I wouldn't mind but, there's just no way.
