Geez how does Sony release such stellar sets like the X900E, X930E and A1E and then absolutely shit the bed with the X800E. Thwre is no way the tv should have worse wide color gamut range, worse blacks, barely negligible improvement in brightness, input lag didn't improve etc. Wide angle viewing is such garbage for a small size tv, VA is always superior so don't know why they went IPS. Rtings always mentions it in their reviews as if people are viewing televisions from more than 40 degrees off center when they just aren't.
Safe to say the X800D will remain the king at 43" in 2017 as well. Get them on clearance if you don't have the set yet. And if you need 49", shell out the dough for the X900E 49" version.
