Yeah it's amazing how the most commonly known informal fallacy is still the one people really can't resist.
 
Statistics like that don't really apply to sports. So probability kind of gets tossed out the window because there is way too many external factors involved to get any sort of reliable probability statistics.
 
So Curry and Durant had some weird stretches this year of not doing well together, but it seems they've clearly learned how to flourish simultaneously after digging into their playoff numbers.

Durant per 36: 28, 8 and 4, with 1.5 blocks - shooting 55% (43% from 3). All career highs. Pretty insane on its own and then you look at Steph (who's played in more games)

Steph per 36: 30, 6 and 6 with 2 steals - 49/43/93 shooting splits. 67% true shooting.

Two top three guys playing the best post-season ball of their careers at the same time. Just unreal production.

And then you add all of the things that have changed, from roster personnel, to how crap the Cavs defense has been for most of the year. But the media guys have a job to make it entertaining for their viewers/listeners.

Even if you were to remove Durant for the next couple of games, my money is on the Warriors finishing the job. Last year was a very unlikely event. I'm willing to bet anything it won't end the same way this year.

Like I said earlier. The only remaining question is if the Cavs locker room will smell like 🍾 🍾 🍾

That doesn't make the likelihood of a Cleveland comeback because they recently had one any higher.
 
I feel like this series is over. I don't want Cavs/Warrriors part 4. Wouldn't mind if Lebron retired. What more does he have to prove? He has said that over and over since winning last year. He won one for the Land. Going to another team for better odds against the Warriors would be career suicide at this point. Why keep playing for rings at the age he is at? And will sticking with the Cavs for more losses in the Finals for the next few seasons be appealing for him? He won't catch Jordan's 6 rings. He won't reach Kobe/Duncan's 5. Maybe the Cavs can make some roster adjustments and he could pull off a 4th championship in a few years and retire on that

Yup. It was g1 vs the Spurs that everyone played like shit, but Curry and KD lit them up in the comeback where I was thinking.. there's no team that can stop them. Literally every single player can play like total shit offensively, and these two can still dominate you. These guys have Lebron completely shook in the first two games.

Kyrie was single handedly carrying the Cavs for a while. I don't know what you mean by 3 games. He outplayed Steph the one game he was able to play for in 2015 and several times last series. You sure pick a mighty fine time to call him a fraud.

What is for a while? I've been talking about Kyrie since last year. Kyrie has not been good this post season but unlike actual superstars when they don't play well, people don't care. He literally turned up for 2 games vs Boston while being mediocre and having Lebron style all PS and Love play very very well in stretches.

Kyrie was trash in the first 4/7 games and played like a God afterwards. He was getting abused defensively all series. He also played really well in g1 in 2015, you're right about that. He's still one of the most overrated players in the league.

He still wants to set the most points ever record. Which he will do if he sticks around for a few years.

I would also love a LeBron/ Lebron Jr. year in 2023. But his body won't hold up.

Tougher match up for the Cavs. Celtics were harder to defend. I'm pissed to learn the KD and Lebron will not release the hip hop track they made together during the Finals.

ya same. even though im not a big lebron fan and im still rooting for him these finals.

But ya i think it was at sometime in the 3rd when he looked completely done and sat down to rest. And they were still down 15 or 20 points. Dunno what more he could do, hes giving everything out there.

Can he go even harder in game 3 in cleveland? And its gonna be even harder now to put up the numbers he did in 2015.

Lol joke post? Because if not wtf am I reading.

Lebron gets paid millions to play basketball, and because he plays basketball he gets to be in commercials, shoe deals, etc. which make him even more money. This money lets him invest in other projects, help sets up his kids futures, and helps him give back to Ohio like he does.

He plays Basketball to win, but he also plays basketball because he enjoys it and it lets him do a lot of other things. He's only 32. Before this series people were saying he's been playing the best basketball of his career.

And now because he's not winning you want to stop watching? Go ahead. Because he's not winning he should retire? Should the East retire because Lebron's been the Eastern Conference Champ for the past 7 years?

All it takes is one injury on the Warriors and they're back to being beatable again. And it's not like Curry and Durant have proven to be the most durable players around.

That's a tough one. Ranking the Heat teams is easy, but things get wonky once you throw in the Cavs.

2013 Heat

2014 Heat

With the Cavs included, it goes like:

2013 Heat
2016 Cavs
2015 Cavs
2012 Heat
2014 Heat

That 2014 Heat team was running on fumes.

This years Cavs have the most shooting and best offense. Not sure who'd win if they played against each other though. They certainly don't have the best D this year. Tough call.
