So how would everyone feel about a $499 Scorpio?
Considering what Scorpio is offering $499 isn't a bad price at all. It's fairly generous actually. I think the problem is many want Scorpio to be some sort of game changer that will swing the generation into Xbox's favor from a sales perspective, but that isn't happening even at $399.
That's so good lol![]()
Shamelessly stolen from Reddit.
People keep saying how Scorpio is supposed to be a "premium" console and a beast, thus using this as an excuse to say it will be over $399.
You guys realize you can get a Xbox One S for $249 on a regular basis, less with sales and even less by the time the holidays come around this year?
$399 IS a "premium" price.
Problem is. When $499 would be a decent price for the product. It will create a negative narrative coming out of the show.
That's true. If they go with 399 people afterwards will say "oh sweet, they actually went with 399" or something along those lines. They also have been marketing the shit out of it lately, so much that it's clearly very important for them that people go out and buy it. Maybe not only meant for the true enthusiasts after all?
Microsoft will never do something like that. Gamestop will.
This might be nothing but maybe it is something: What if there is no Forza 7 at E3? What if it has all been a ruse to distract from the real game coming this year, which is a PGR Forza? Cause this tidbit is in the latest Forza news report:
$499 is the price everyone should expect, $449 at best.
$399 would be a fucking megaton announcement
Let's say Scorpio is $499 can you build a pc for the same price that can play "4k" (whether it's true or not) and still get ~60 fps?
Forza 7 will be there as premium and main title vs GT
Forza 7 but I would love a change to that. Imagine if they just come out and announce another spin off similar to Horizon. Bold move but I'd love it.

One of the devs somewhat hinted that the acronym for the next Forza might not be FM
I'm thinking the same price as OG X1 on launch in the UK, around £430, $450.I've been bracing myself and fully expecting it to hit around the £450-500 since it was announced, anything less is a bonus for me
When was this?

'Project Scorpio' has been masterfully positioned so far. Do they fall at the final hurdle, tune in tomorrow to find out!
I read it yesterday in Forza central forums, someone tweeted one of the devs asking if Forza would be at E3 and the reply was FM ? Or something to that extent, and the poster said this might give credit to the rumors it might be called Forza X, rumors i had never heard about and haven't verified myself but apparently it's a thing.
This was back in April
Forza 7 will be there as premium and main title vs GT
Forza X was confirmed as fake by Alan Hartman himself (Turn 10 Studio Head)
Ill have a look at forzacentral and see what that's all about

I read this 3 times.... it makes no sense to me!I think the problem is many want Scorpio to be some sort of game changer that will swing the generation into Xbox's favor from a sales perspective, but that isn't happening even at $399.
.I don't care about the price. Just let me preorder, dammit!
PGR style. Urban street racer would fit in nicely.

I really hope so man but DF also hinted at FM7, didn't they? Ah well, tomorrow.
I'm rolling with $450. This is supposed to be a "premium" device

When he made that comment about the logo, he could of meant it as like "They sent me the logo for Forza X and it was awful, I would never approve it".Yeah, I just read it was debunked.
This is the quote, I got some stuff wrong but basically
"When I mentioned FM7 in the Beam Stream, Alan Hartman (studio boss) replied with 'FM?'"
Everything else is just inference

They could either fall on Price or Games. Certainly interesting to see what happens.

"optimized on Scorpio"
"Release day: october 27"
October 27 maybe the launch day.(It's a Friday)
So you can see the price of the S today. When we designed both of these, which we kind of designed it in parallel. We thought about the price performance of what we wanted to hit with the Scorpio, relative to what we were going to be able to do with the S. So that we would have a good price continuum, so people wouldn't look at these two things as so disconnected because of the price delta.
So I think you will feel like it's a premium product, a premium console. And not something, anything more than that. So I wouldn't get people worried that this thing is going to be unlike any console price you've ever seen. We didn't design it that way.
That said, the opening price point for the Xbox One S, and the different hard drive sizes, that is a critical part of this whole product. When I think about it as a product line, you should expect the pricing to kind of be in line with that.
How do you fall on games when you are talking about the same generation as the cheaper model?
And they won't fall on price either. Whatever it is, it really doesn't matter. It will be a niche product at first, because mass market will always gravitate towards the cheaper option if it offers the same things. In this case meaning it plays the same games.
Fall on games when there are not that many compelling titles shown at E3 in a way that sells the Scorpio. 399 would be killer price but people need to see a reason to buy. Cannot wait!
My prediction... If we don't see supply constraints and it's priced at $399, then we're going to see a 40-50% split for Scorpio. At $499 it's a great console for core Xbox fans. At $399 it becomes a realistically viable option for anyone looking to buy a console, regardless of there being $249 alternatives out there.
MS have an opportunity to have a strong second half of the generation, led by Scorpio. It won't ever cause a huge turnaround, but it does have potential to pick up a good chunk of their lost audience over these next 3 years or so. Then the profit is realised by way of software and subscription sales.
imo!
So are you guys thinking XBOX10S ?
Get out of this thread Dad.Xbox Tennis
At the same time an urban street racer would feel too similar to the FH series IMHO. It already has the PGR points-style drifiting in it.
So last year we got Tekken Tag Tournament free on e3 day. And I feel like there was something else, too.
Any guesses what we'll get this year?
I'm hoping.... either a new Ninja Gaiden announcement with 2 free to download and/or Cuphead free or heavily discounted for like $1 for a day.
A man can dream, right?
