Ohh Brad with that 5.5

Don on point too.

It'd be like a 6 or 6.5 from me.

My highlights are BF2, A Way Out and NFS Burnout. And that's really it.

This conference was shit. Only good thing out of it was the prison game.
And what about the weak-ass teaser for the new Bioware game? WHY

All in all, I'll give it a 5.5

My personal grade - 5.5

Positives:
-A way out was the highlight, easily
-Battlefield 1 looked interesting, but obviously nothing too exciting here.
-Madden story mode might have potential, but who knows.

Negatives:
-30 minutes of any game is absurd, especially a full MP match.
-Nothing on Mass Effect
-Anthem. Nothing against the game, just pointless to see it now
-NBA Live

Middling
-Need for Speed
-Sports stuff
-Battlefront 2
-No Titanfall 2

Overall, just boring? Not really any major highs nor any major lows. Hope it's all better from here on out.

Yeah, calling that conference an 8 is crazy. More like a 4 or a 5.

People watch E3 press conferences because its suppose to be exciting, they want to be surprised and see things they didnt expect. That's the opposite of what EA does.

They bring out their annual games, sandwhich the gameplay between corporate suits talking and youtube personalities talking, they go behind the scenes, out of the 8 games they showed only two were unannounced, and one of them barely qualified even as a teaser. So really A Way Out was the only exciting thing in the entire conference.

People being harsh, lol. I came out very positively surprised considering it's EA.

Strong 7 from me. Low standards perhaps but I cannot imagine much that they could have done to make the show much better with what they had.

Yeah I was shocked at the initial round of scores, glad they brought them down a bit.

I think last year's EA was like a 2,and this year significantly improved to... A 4. Maybe 5. A Way Out looks great, I really want to play that, everything else was boring. I also got really excited during the Madden Longshot trailer when I saw college jerseys because I thought NCAA was coming back, so it might be losing an extra point for breaking my heart :(

Also Kyle going down to a 7.9 after remembering the Emperor's face tease in the Battlefront 2 story is hilarious and very Kyle.

I think on a 10 point scale I can comfortably call it a 7. Otherwise, 6.8 for sure. There were so many opportunities for greatness. Honestly felt like a constant battle between old EA and new EA that entire press conference.

If they keep up the pace, I'd expect at least an 8 out of their show next year, if they keep up the whole "We've received a lot of constructive criticism!" bit.

As a conference it still fell short of being a good one, but they had some very interesting games and gameplay.

Again people freak out way too much over grading even something as simple as a conference, even calling them forced when they absolutely bashed EA's last year.

It's a different opinion than yours, even mine, get over it.

6/10

Which is a ok score.

+ A Way out

- Hype level for BF2 went down. Game looks beautiful but cant help but feel it looks bit boring to play. I admit to only playing the beta for BF and that put me off buying the 1st game.

Overall conference was just above acceptable in terms of pace/ presentation.

It's deserved. They make baffling choices and have for years.

I don't care. We're talking about this press conference. The preconceived notions and obvious bias are absolutely gross. Judge what we saw today not yesterday.

A Way Out looked fantastic.
Payback looks like the most interesting NFS in a while.
Battlefront 2 looks like an actually great game that lives up to the series heritage unlike Battlefront 1.
Anthem teaser piqued my interest for tomorrow.
Sports stuff wasn't overbearing and didn't go on forever.

Sounds like a 7 to me. Anything below a 6.5 is unfair imo. And if you give it less than a 5 you're probably just an EA hater.

Flat 5 from me, I'm surprised at the positve scores at the table. Greasy palms at work. ;) Thank god for the kid's table keeping it real.
I kind of understand being soured by EA from the last two years, but they had decent conferences in the past so I don't see this as a high for EA.

The gameplay they brought wasn't the problem, it was everything else. They have to sandwhich every game with corporate speak and random youtube people. Listening to youtubers and suits talk is not what draws people to these conferences.

I posted this is another thread:

The last real conference at E3 before this was Sony 2016. I don't see any world where this show is above a 4, especially when you compare it to such a high bar. This conference was bad, really bad.

Personally, I think the panel (at least on the table) was extremely forgiving. Like, think back to that Sony show, and look at this. Sure, EA did better than last year, but like 8+? Whaat?

Co-Op only and no drop-in, Drop-out kills it for me. I have maybe 2 friends that would like to play it without trolling the fuck out of me, plus my brother. If it's shorter than 3 hours long I'll be disappointed with the game's content, longer than that and my progress will hinge on the availability of my partner. I don't want to play a story based Co-Op game with random people on the internet.

Need for Speed looked fine, terrible voice acting, don't like the Slo-Mo and the cutscenes triggering frequently is annoying.

Battlefront 2 is interesting, 30mins of poorly managed and commentated gameplay didn't make me more invested than I already was.

Anthem was nothing, it was a superfluous teaser from a dev who hasn't made a game I've been satisfied with since 2010.

Way too much talking, the only upside was they had a large portion of that talking be from people who were somewhat entertaining. I find it funny that people count the BF2 stuff as game time vs talk time here, but discount the hour of Battlefield 1 stuff last year just because the guy waited until after to say goodbye.

Was a 5 at best.

You act like your opinions on these very specific things are law. You could flip all those around and conclude that anything above a 4,5 is just being a fanboy.

Thought it was a fine conference. Really liked the Sports stuff excluding NBA Live. Battlefront 2 was meh, Anthem went completely over my head. Need for Speed is a typical buy-on-a-sale game, Way Out looked cool - didn't like Brothers, though.

Overall a solid C for me.

A Way Out doesn't look like anything special.
I want NFS to be a racing game, not whatever it was that they showed off.
Battlefront 2 does look good but I need to see single player footage.
Anthem teaser did pique my curiosity
I didn;t care for any of the sports stuff.

You can easily consider this conference to be worse than a 5 without being an EA hater.

Outside of A Way Out none of the games looked like anything too special, but if I was to rate the conference as, you know, a conference, I think I would give it somewhere around a 7. It was nicely put together.

Also I stopped watching before they rated it, need to find the archive and rewatch that part.

Not really. I can be objective and state my opinion on a conference, even if it's by a company that makes/publishes games that I'm fond of. Someone isn't automatically a 'hater' if they disagree with your view point.

There were too many awkward moments, pointless speeches etc. I was bored for most of the conference, so a 6/10 is fair to me.

Takes:

A Way Out - moderately interesting but not terribly so. Real skeptical of them actually getting the execution right RE: gameplay specifically, but a good narrative as well. Would never buy it anyway because it looks pretty low budget and co-op only is RIP.

NFS Payback - bad. Cutting from two seconds of gameplay to cutscene and back is really bad. Maybe the game is different but there's no reason for me to assume that at the moment. Dull environment as well, with weird moments (18 wheeler too fast for the sports car to catch up, etc).

Battlefront 2 - fine. I didn't buy the first game, only played it for a bit at my friend's house so I never had the hate for it everyone else did. I liked it. This looks like more of the same to me. Still won't buy it though.

Anthem - Titanfall, Destiny, whatever clone. Nope.

Sports stuff was overbearing and went on forever.

Also, amongst all of them you had very different opinions, from low to high, which proves they are not a positivity echo chamber. People take this so seriously.
