Easy Allies @ E3 2017 Streaming Thread & Schedule

Personally, Ben calmly setting his headphones down and saying "So, I think The Evil Within 2 will be a really great game" during either the nosebleed screaming part or the talking burrito part was better executed comedy than anything in the actual video.
 
That Devolver stuff was unfunny to me, & should've been a fun little video that was released during the week, not given an "official" timeslot.

Some of the over reaction here is baffling, though. Some of them didn't like it, so what? Like others pointed out, they acknowledged what it was, gave it a chance, but didn't care for it in the end. It's not the end of the world. Don't get how they're cynical now, either.

Either way, can't wait for tomorrow's streams. Sony!

So does anyone here actually realize they're showcasing games their published games on stream right now for the next 9 hours? Cause I feel like no one actually knows that. They're even showing off the new Toejam and Earl game.
 
I feel like both sides of this Devolver debate think the other side is taking it more seriously than they are. I don't think anyone actually thinks less of the Allies for this, the humor obviously isn't for everyone. It just wasn't the ideal way to handle the "conference" for some people.

For me, despite enjoying the conference on some level, I thought the EZA reactions were totally fine and enjoyable for the most part. The only reason it bothered me at all is because I wanted the opportunity to actually watch it. Like, I know we watch that channel for their reactions, but we're also watching the conferences live through them, and they should give us the opportunity to actually watch the conference so we can have our own take as well. When Ben and Huber pulled off their headphones and just started talking over Devolver to get back to Bethesda, I think that was a little disrespectful to the fans who chose to watch E3 with them, trusting that they would actually get to watch E3.

If they want to say it sucks, go ahead. If as soon as it's over they want to move on and have nothing to say about it, that's totally fine. But if you're going to try and cut the show short when there's nothing else happening anyway, that irks me a tiny bit.

And again, it's really not a big deal at all. But I don't think it was the best way to handle it.

Edit: And, we should really clarify, this isn't even an EZA thing. Kyle, Ian, and even Damiani clearly gave it a chance the whole time. Even Blood and Brad kept some level of attention on it, just in case. It was honestly just Ben and Huber that cut Devolver off.

As I have learned, this is a very dangerous post to make...

However, I obviously agree. Especially with the it not being a "big deal at all" part.
 
I think all of them expected the humor (and were digging it for some time) with something informative.

But then it was clear devolver was all about the metacomentary and post-humor without anything else.

Eza cut short their discussion about Wolfenstein and Evil Within 2 to give attention to the indie games devolver publishes and devolver thought it was better to go hard in the joke.

On the balance, many more people tuning into the EZA channel would rather hear Ben and Huber talk about video games than watch Ben and Huber sit in silence and watch Adult Swim. There is a separate Twitch channel for that.
 
I don't know why it is so hard to understand this humor is not for everyone, it is one step above nonsense humor, a lot of swearing, yelling, misplaced inserted jokes.
I loved Wet Hot American Summer, it's nonsense humor and i laughed from beginning to end. A Brazilian podcast about Series in general here in Brazil talked about it and i never saw them hating on something as much as they did it because of the type of humor, all of them gave it straight 0's, and i totally get why, you can't expect that to be for everbody's tastes.

On top of that, they rushed into their Bethesda post-show to watch this conference, which was more interested in doing these skits than show almost any of their games. at one point they had enough.

To counter that, Easy Allies never put in their schedule that they were going to stream and react to the Devolver press conference. They only did it because Bethesda's conference was shockingly short. After they got bored with it, they simply reverted back to the post show discussion, which was what they originally planned and had as their schedule for the fans.

Besides, if anyone really wanted to watch the conference, it's literally just 2 clicks away in twitch. There was no disrespect to the fans.

That's fair, but I would argue

A) They have literally the rest of E3 week and beyond to talk about Wolfenstein and The Evil Within more, and there's no need to do it during another live show

and

B) I'm not sure anyone besides those two had much left to say anyway. Brad seemed very ready to move on from Bethesda after their post-show, and Ian, Kyle, and Damiani never said much about Bethesda at all. I think Blood may have made one or two more comments after Devolver ended? But it's not like the whole team was chopping at the bit to talk more about the trailers we saw. It seemed more like a frustrated reaction than a genuine thought they needed to express.
 
Anyways enjoyable fake conference, not to everyone's tastes obviously. Am enjoying this weird fucking public access alternate dimension game showcase marathon. Hope to see EZA cover Ubisoft tomorrow.

They're live tonight to do reactions to the press conferences. That's literally the point.

Yes, they can do it doing the week. But it's scheduled tonight.

Devolver was not a "live show." It was an entirely pre-taped comedy show that showed old trailers that the EZA guys thought was stupid and unfunny.

They don't owe it to anyone to sit in silence and watch it.

You know what could succeed as a shadow drop? Metal Gear Survive. Game was announced as a $30-$40 game that was supposed to drop in the beginning of 2017. Last we saw was a gameplay demonstration on Konami's Youtube that was hammered with downvotes. There is no way a marketing campaign for this game will change all the negativity surrounding it. Either drop it now and avoid all that, else I'm gonna assume this game is canceled if we see nothing of it this E3.

Again, fair, but after they decided that they would watch Devolver, I think they should have followed through. It's easy to say in retrospect I just should have left, but not knowing what would happen at the time, I guess I was assuming Ben and Huber would stop talking, since the rest of Allies seemed ready to react to whatever was shown. I didn't know at that point that there wasn't much left in the way of games.

Also, as someone with a slow hard-drive and internet speed, loading a new Twitch page and potentially getting through an ad can take me like a full minute+ sometimes, so I'd rather not break the stream if I don't have to.

I think you missinterpreted what happened, which is exactly the more reason some/a couple of them got mad. They rushed into talking Bethesda because Devolver's conference was starting, they finished talking about Evil Within 2 and jumped straight to grades because there was 1 minute left, they haven't even got in depth with Wolfenstein 2 at that point.
 
In other news. One of the older memes they've had for ben was "What Ben wants, Ben Gets" for game review selection, etc.

I think it's safe to say when it comes to game announcements. What Huber wants, Huber gets! The man sends out those vibes and wills his dream games into existence

Anyways, as you've already mentioned, this is not a big deal at all. It's like telling your friend a joke, and when they don't laugh, you go to your other friends and complain that it wasn't to his liking.

Dreams has literally been my most anticipated thing going into this E3. I'm hoping it does get a big conference showcase, blows everyone away, then they shadow drop the beta megaton... but really, just a release date would suffice

Man was rough for Huber there during Devolver's conference haha Ian and Kyle digging it, Brad and Blood not caring either way, and then Ben and especially Huber just hating it. I think part of it is that Huber isn't used to moderating and so it is already stressful enough, so for this weird ass sketch to show up after what was already a weird Bethesda conference makes sense. Hope they get a good night's sleep and are prepped for tomorrow.

Yea, kinda sucks that get got thrown straight into the deep end of the pool. Could have used Jones there to get them out of that weird mood and end the stream on a high note.

Huber is optimistic. He loves games and he loves to be excited about games.

The Devolver shit was the exact opposite of all of that. I'm not surprised he took it a bit personally.
