Easy Allies @ E3 2017 Streaming Thread & Schedule

Man was rough for Huber there during Devolver's conference haha Ian and Kyle digging it, Brad and Blood not caring either way, and then Ben and especially Huber just hating it. I think part of it is that Huber isn't used to moderating and so it is already stressful enough, so for this weird ass sketch to show up after what was already a weird Bethesda conference makes sense. Hope they get a good night's sleep and are prepped for tomorrow.

Yeah.

Anyway, he did a fantastic job setting up for the Bethesda one.

Yup, not worried, I think they'll be ready and rested for Ubi and Sony.

That Bethesda conference was a shit show, yikes. What a waste of time for me and money for them.

Also, the two best things in the conference and the Allies are muted during them.

Is there a proper archive of their reaction stream for the conferences? Can't see them on YT

ps3ud0 8)

Microsoft and Bethesda reactions were muted by Twitch but they have local recording but it will take some time to upload to Youtube according to Bloodworth. But EA reactions are already up.

Super disappointed in their reaction to he devolver video. You could have copy and pasted giant bombs cranky kids in there and no one would have noticed.

I thought it was awesome. Best thing about E3 so far. Better than those 3 shit conferences.

Scouring the last few pages, now I really want to see the live stream they did for Devolver, if just for the rare opportunity to see Huber and Ben be miserable.

Woah, I didn't expect them to react this badly. Especially Huber and Ben seemed personally offended. Made me feel bad for kinda enjoying what Devolver was going for, it reminded me of Too Many Cooks.

I didn't like Devolver at all, the humour just didn't land for me, but they were going for a really specific style so it was always going to alienate some.

From watching a bit of it, it is "very" Eric Andre. Calling it a press conference was very cheeky.

It does continue to set the tone for this E3 though: baffling and underwhelming.

Sony and Nintendo have to deliver big time to make up the difference.

Cool that Microsoft is bringing back "The Duke" controller though, they should have shown it off.

Weird... when I try to play the Bethesda reactions on Twitch, it's muted on PS4, but not on PC.

Different apps handle it differently. Think the PS4 thing mutes the whole stream, web and phone just mute the section with copyright and Chromecast just stops when it gets to the copyright part.

Basically this.

Ah okay. Looks like they uploaded it to youtube now, so it's all good.

Can't find anythign Devolver related on their Twitch channel.
It's at the end of the 10 hour long "EZA @ E3 2017 - Microsoft Conference" broadcast.

My 2 cents. It was a cringe-fest. Not my type of humor at all. It was surreal waking up at 6 am only to be cringing non-stop. Save me Sony.

Bethesda 8/10 - Thought the Bethesdaland thing was cute. I'm into all of their games so they had something for me on every level. Also, it was just game after game, rapid fire with all of them coming out this year. No time was spent on things that are way too far out and then you have to wait years for. I appreciate that!

I'm really looking forward to Wolfenstein in particular, but I'm already enjoying things like TESO and intrigued by the VR bits if they come to PSVR. Solid conference to me, just showed the games, got it done, had a little bit of a chuckle inbetween and moved on. Didn't need to spend a lot of time with on-stage jabbering.

Devolver - Didn't hit its mark with me but I was not offended by it.

I think the comparisons to Eric Andre are apt, but it falls way short of the comedic timings of Eric Andre. I don't think simply doing this time of humor gives you a free pass to be as terrible as possible.

The Devolver conference was a poorly executed joke though. All it did was take the premise of something that could be interesting without ever truly building on top of it in a meaningful way. I really don't understand how you could compare it to a Bosman Bit. It's absurdity for absurdity's sake versus using the absurd premise as a launching point. It's what makes Aqua Teen Hunger Force far more interesting than a lot of other Adult Swim shows. It features fries, a shake, and a meatball meeting up with other weird creatures exhibiting strange behaviors, but that is only the premise and the situations that arise from it are what's funny.

Example:

You see a panda wearing pants.

Okay, that's your basic premise. In good comedy, that would only be your starting point. Now, Devolver spent the next five minutes going, "HAHAHA! It's an animal wearing people clothes. LOL, Isn't that just absurd and weird!?!? Kek."

Sorry, not interesting. All you're doing is looking at the premise without building anything off of it. A Bosman Bit would maybe start with the bear wearing blue jeans, but it would continue on from that point. See, those jeans are all torn up and coming apart at the seams. Here's the strange thing: he just had those pants perfectly tailored for him the day before by the excellent spider seamstress. What's the deal? Well, he goes down to the shop wearing an overcoat to cover himself because the pants are obviously not going to do the job. When he explains the situation to the seamstress, it all starts coming together. Turns out she was super emotional because all her little spiderlings had just hatched and took off into the air and scattered across the country in their little spider chutes to start new lives. When the seamstress was actually making his pants, she accidentally used the silk she uses to roll her dinner up in instead of the webbing she uses to catch that dinner in the first place, which is why the bear's pants started contracting around him and getting so tight.

Darn it... This is why Bosman stops his shit short all the time. It's way too easy to just keep going and coming up with new things.

Shame Devolver couldn't move beyond the Panda in Pants part of the setup.

They're uploaded a number of hours after airing, they will come somewhere today.

Their twitch channel has it all archived fam.
Thanks guys - didn't realise it would be a while but forget it's E3 and they are busy. Woke up and was hoping to re-watch the conferences with their reactions...

Which was exactly my point in the Devolver thread but people just got told that they "didn't get it". You can't just go "It's satire!" to make things magically good.

I think I'm just disappointed because Devolver is probably the best Indie publisher so I was hoping we'd see more of titles like Crossing Souls. Apparently, my expectations being dashed means I was "trolled" but honestly, I was just bored.

I understood the "joke" and it was executed pretty badly. At times it was closer to the Friday the 13th stream from last year than anything Adult Swim has produced. Don't blame the Allies for switching it off.

Bethesda was late because it was outside and they wanted it to be dark. Fine, but why the hell don't they do anything on or with their stage? If it was at/near a theme park t justify their cute theme why didn't they show or acknowledge the scenery for one second? I'm quite angry that they didn't coordinate things better with MS to avoid that long useless break for their short effort. Last night was a waste of time followed by an even bigger waste of time.

I really don't mind anyone not being into the Devolver conference, I get that that sort of anti-humour is limited in appeal, and while I personally love that sort of thing I don't feel like Devolver came close to the really great stuff. That said I'd be lying if I said I'm not a little disappointed by the way Huber and Ben reacted, I do think it came across as them feeling personally offended by the thing, which is a step too far for me.

But it's not actually that big of a deal to me either. It's a little thing.

Anyway, I slept through the Bethesda conference, whoops. Looking at the announcements I probably didn't miss too much but I'll catch up with the EZA archive later. ><

What games have been at Geoff's live show since the Microsoft conference ended? I've seen Crash Bandicoot was there, but what else have Geoff gotten a look at? And is there an archive somewhere?

Not sure on games, but everything is archived on the Gameslice YouTibe channel as it happens.

Yeah me too, I didn't catch it live since the need for sleep took a win over me. Though it was clear that some of the EZA was digging it. Not as a traditional press confrence but a silly 15 minutes bit that brought two games to a spotlight. And I felt that like Huber can bring people up, he contributed in bringing people down in this situation. I thought it was a fun way to end a long night. And unless I missed it, EZA didn't give any post show attention to those two games they showed? I'm not sure if I want to watch EZA commenting on the PC show since most likely it won't be a glorified Youtube playlist for marketing material, so it will be constant complaining and disrespecting the people on stage.

Though I don't agree this being better than Microsoft, they showed few cool games and the confrence had nice flow to it imo.

Edit: To add in the Devolver thing, it would have benefitted from showing few more trailers. The lady "presenting" all of this was dynamite. Really enjoyed her perfomance.

And it was funny too how their eyes lit up and it was funny again when one of their darlings Suda made an appearance =P

Watched bits of the devolver conference. That was the worst shit ever. I'm surprised they didnt turn it off.

Microsoft best conference so far.

Some of you guys act like they insulted Devolver and trashed the actress or something. It really wasn't as dramatic as you make it out to be. If it wasn't for this thread I wouldn't even think about it.

The two games they showed were known about before which I think was part of the joke? The issue is really expectations. The EZA guys got their hopes up too high. They like Devolver Digital published games and were expecting to see some new things from them and got that. They were just really disappointed by it because it could have been used as a way to showcase some of the things they have coming up, but still in a satirical way. Devolver wanted to make fun of games publishing to the point they were willing to spite their own games, and that can be a confusing use of time and viewers. Especially when they could have done both well.

The PC conference they have zero expectations and thus won't be as turned off by it I think.

I think it's quite obvious why the Allies didn't react in the way that you seem to have wanted and how that most likely won't apply to the PC Gaming Show. They covered the show last year and the year before that, it was fine.

Why do people seems so agitated that they reacted negatively to something like this? It just didn't appeal to them. Next people are going to be pulling their Patreon money.

Should have switched out chairs if people weren't into the Devolver skits. Bosman was on the side the entire night as... what? Punishment for grease?

It may not have been Hubers cup of tea, but when your content includes dressing up in Halloween costumes to do bets, silly wrestling bits, and mock trials, you just can't complain.

I wonder as well if the fact seemingly the entire rest of the Patreon funded games covering groups were in on it with clips but Easy Allies weren't additionally set them on edge. I know whenever I see some FunHaus shit my teeth grind a whole bunch.

Definitely feeling the lack of Jones and Bosman in these things. I know Jones needs to go and Brand Manager, but him not being there for any of this coverage feels a bit too much.

Yeah the only joke that landed with me was the save Lang joke and that's only because I watch giant bombs stuff. No other joke made me laugh, it was just weird and not a fun weird but a "look how weird we are guys" kind of weird.
