^^^^^ Que? Subs as in Bombs? Who uses it outside of crowd control or to manipulate another player into a corner?

I tried Ranked mode and had no clue on what the fuck was going on. Tower Control? Ok but what the fuck am I supposed to do. I'm over here Splatting the stage like a twit while my team mates runs off and gets themselves killed constantly. We lost the round and I have no idea how we lost.

It's probably best to look up a video on youtube. Basically, you control the tower by being on it and it runs on a set track until it reaches the goal. So everyone is fighting over the tower, the people on the tower, and trying to clear a path for it. You can see the path on the ground.

Sorry if I missed this before in the thread, but a few friends and I just reached level 10 in order to play Ranked as a team. We cannot figure out how to do this?

Is this feature (I believe it was "Squad Battle" in Splatoon 1) really omitted from this game? For real?

That would be a huge let down if true. Please tell us we're doing something wrong.

I am hopelessly addicted to this game. I'll have to hop in some GAF lobbies soon.

How do I post my art to the game? The only options I get are to submit to Facebook or Twitter.

Think that's League Battle now? You all have to be B-.

Submitting to social media is how it works since there's no Miiverse to pull from.

Sub abilities, not Sub Weapons. Sub Abilities are the slots you unlock on your gear that can give you additional ability perks.

Sub weapons (Also confusingly shortened to just "subs" like Sub abilities) are different, and yeah, the offensive based ones are good area denial tools to pressure the enemy.

Ever played payload mode in a game before, like TF2 or Overwatch? You have to escort the Tower until it reaches a defined spot on the map (by climbing on top of it to make it move).

Think you can press - in the lobby to read up on the rules for the different modes.

Hahahahahaha!!!!!

I must've looked like a idiot trying to splat the stage while this was going on. Thanks. I better understand it now.

Guys please use the recon! It's there for a reason!

Yeah, Pressing - to read the rules is good, but don't forget you can also use the Recon mode by pressing Y. This can let you play on one of the two maps currently in rotation for you to get a feel for the map layout, and where the core objective is for each mode. The best thing is it's just solo, so you lack the pressure of a real game to try and figure everything out.

... Damn it UnemployedVillain beat me to it. :P

I managed to get in on a full 4v4 private match on the Kinda Funny discord group earlier, it's REALLY nice having a full group to play with, chat and all.

As stupid as it is to need to do this in the first place, if you have your Switch next to your computer you can use a male to male aux cable to plug the switch into your computer's mic port to play game audio through VLC while chatting using Skype or Discord. I have a small bit of audio delay, but it's not a big deal at all and better than the phone app solution at least.

Does anyone know how to get Golden eggs from the Salmon Run wave with the crates that are dropped around the map? I've failed two games now because my team didn't meet our quota for it.

Not really feeling the new map. Wii U was just effortless, this one I don't understand why I can't just fly straight to the person I selected. I'm missing something here

Thanks, but does League Battle also allow you to keep ranking? Or do you have to play solo Ranked for that? The information about this is not clear.

Ranks are now limited to Ranked Battle, so no, playing league with your friends will not boost your letter grade for any of the modes. Was a problem in the last game having people carry players through lower ranks by budding up with higher rank players, or people just running away from Solo Q ranked battles altogether once they hit S rank (Due to the inability to gain or lose rank).

You can do that still, press X to bring up the map on screen, move the icon over to where you wanna jump, then press A.

You can. You are waiting on a spawn timer. Wii U had the same thing. It's on the bottom right. As soon as the spawn timer ends, you can either close the map if you want to walk from the spawn or you can press A while selecting a teammate to jump to them. Works just like Wii U except the map isn't up all the time.

Better, press a direction on the left joycon buttons to select an other player or your homebase, faster and more precise than the stick.

Pretty sure the little critters carrying the crates have the golden eggs. Knock them out.

Shitty weapon selections for the Salmon Run right now.

TWO melee weapons. (Brush and Roll) How are we supposed to win it lol

Rollers can steam roll the little shits. It's great for the Glowflies shit.

Brush at least grants mobility on the grates on high tide.

But Brush's weak power and Roller's speed makes it kind of hard to kill bosses compared to Dualies and Splatling

Damn.... the final boss is waaaay less interesting than the first one... way too easy and the level design is not as good...

guess they recieved complain that in splatoon 1 it was too hard? what a step back

yeah i know, multiplayer is the main focus, but still... (and multiplayer is still dumb that you can't play easily with your friends)

Is salmon run meant to only give out fucking green polos?

It's marked as the monthly special, so I assume it will rotate out.

Word of warning, by the way, as I found this out the hard way: if you get a duplicate polo from Salmon Run, and choose not to exchange it on the spot for 4000 coins, it immediately overwrites your existing polo shirt. Don't be like me and overwrite your fully levelled polo with a new one that has a base skill you don't really want.

Beat the single player earlier, but it felt kind of underwhelming.
Like the guys at Gamexplain, there was a lack of the wow factor from the first game, when I didn't expect anything.
Having solid experience with the game now, I actually got really bored of the longer levels, and I just yearned for the fast paced nature of multiplayer for several levels.
The final boss was also a big step down from the last game. Where the last game felt like a culmination of absolutely everything the game had to offer, this just felt so two note.

Wish there were more new songs as well.
A remix of
Calamari Incantation
at the end was not as special as the original.
Fresh Start
also feels like something I heard before.

Also really disappointed
Pearl & Marina
had no involvement.

I don't have any motivation to complete all the weapons with every single weapon.
Might do the Hero Shot, Slosher, and Dualies, but even then, ehh.

Looking forward to the real meat now, but I'm sad.

Man, I'm really hoping to see some returning stages come back soon in an update. Some old stages that I'm dying to play right now.

yup basically agreed.

it didn't help a lot of world 5's levels were 'here's some platforming challenges, also you die if you fall like anywhere, also you get 3 lives per checkpoint'

I didn't play Splatoon 1 as much as my daughter did so I may be misremembering. Were the stages in Splatoon 1 bigger? I've been playing turf war and well... it's exactly that, a war. I don't remember racking up this many *kills* in the first Splatoon.

All this. I was worried after the Gamexplain discussion, but I agreed with all of it--and what you posted it. The campaign felt waaaay too samey, and worse in some ways, like music and the final boss
