Agreed. Actually, my strategy may seem lame to most but I just stay back from the others and start painting areas and not worrying about the other team until I approach them.

This is a good strategy. Paint your "base" first (every % counts) and after that try to be more aggressive and paint enemy territory.

But what if everyone is using the Aerospray MG?

I've been seeing that thing so often -- regularly two or three in one team -- that I sincerely hope they nerf its special or something. It's getting ridiculous.

not sure if nerfing it would change the number of people using it tbh, new players always gravitate towards aerosprays. it's no big deal imo, play more and you'll see it less

Exactly.

I don't get the approach some have of rushing to the middle barely gaining p. What if you then die? You've wasted 30 seconds nearly for nothing.

Consistency is the key, slow and steady and stay alive.....

I feel like the aerospray isn't as good as it used to be based on meta. Can't deal with anything that shoots straight.

I think it's the special that's ridiculous. The Aerospray itself is shit. Used correctly that special can be seriously dangerous for capturing turf, and gaining serious "p" too.

I disagree. Getting a good foothold at the start in the middle area is far more important once enough of your base is inked that people can get there, which happens naturally if you each go a separate path to the centre..

If you end up with a base that is painted 25%, it doesn't even matter who gets the centre of the stage as long as the enemy team paints theirs and your team can't push beyond the middle. So no, that's not a good strategy at all

I'm surprised at the strong reactions against the campaign. I've dug the hell out of it so far.

The single player is great; much better than any "afterthought" has the right to be and shows how versatile the game's mechanics are - just don't buy the game at full price if that's all you're in for. Splatoon is all about the multiplayer.

Only thing that let me down about the single player was
Callie being treated as kind of a joke, and that Off the Hook wasn't involved in it.

Also the matchmaking in Ranked is terrible. Haven't won a single game and never even gained control like ever. Every single game the team is just a mountain to overcome and it's demoralizing. Guess it's just back to Regular Battle for me.

Kind of disagree with this. Leaving lots of big empty spaces in your base gives you multiple "free" specials on respawn.

Also why ink neutral ground when you can be taking enemy territory? The starting area can be taken at any time, really.

Anyone getting unstable connections right now causing them to exit multiplayer matches? Trying to figure out if it's in my end or not. I don't see why it would be.

Splatoon singleplayer is very well designed.

I have to agree. It's the reason I got it. My first Splatoon experience. Not going to bother with multiplayer. If the forums I've read about the first game are any indication, the community will be just as toxic as any other and I want no part of it.

I disagree. Prefer to establish a beach head at checkpoint of my choosing that pushes the opponents line back. Plenty of time for painting bases when we die.

But whatever you do, it works better if the team works together. All up front, or slow push just do it together.

I don't understand. Do you think your base can't be painted at any point after the first twenty seconds?

What are you talking about? Hardly anyone uses party chat. In fact, it isn't even necessary.
