Splatoon 2 |OT| Fresh Squids 2 Go

Finally hit level 10. Will prolly try some ranked tonight and begin my descent into the D+ mines.

Is it just me or do the weapons seem kinda more defined in terms of their roles now? I used to be an Aerospray user in Splatoon 1 and I feel like (the MG at least) can definitely cover ground a lot better in Turf War but isn't as effective at getting kills as it used to be. Rollers don't seem to flick as far and are easier to evade, an all-rounder like a Splattershot isn't quite as good as laying down ink etc. It's been a while since I played the first though so it might just be me looking for something that's not there.

so is the glitch inside the level? i got the hero charger and trying to find three boxes... how far into it do i go?

How effective is the super jump -> SplatDown move? Pretty much everyone I see super jumps from spawn to get back into the fight, and you wouldn't have a full special meter if you just spawned.

Are the versions actually different in terms of stats? I thought they just had different bombs and specials.

It's good for a surprise attack if you notice one of your teammates being ambush. For just spawning, either Sheath Jump or get that weapon with the roll.

lol ok I see. Yeh, I use the right stick to turn. Big movements. Motion to shift aim quickly to smaller degrees.

And theres also the Y button, so if you need to 180, just turn back with the control stick and immediately reset the camera :D
Will try to do so. My aim really sucks, stops me from breaking through the C+ ranking in Tower Control.

The Aerospray feels the same to me and most Roller users just plain suck at the moment.

I think I need to turn down the sensitivity on the motion controls. The cursor seems to always want to jump to the top of the screen, and I've been having to fight with it to get it centered.

Welcome to Neogaf! Always glad to have another stick user here to stand up against the hordes of Gyro users.

How's the Aerospray working out? I've heard some people swear by it in Turf War, but I'm always put off by how low the range. I figure you're gonna get murdered by anyone with a decently ranged Splattershot.

I don't have much technique so most of the times I try to force my way to the bad guys zone, It's working for me cause I use it to make a path to their zone and force them to go back and splat me.

I don't usually request extra things to spend in-game money on, but i wish they'd add bottoms/jeans/skirts etc (even without stats) to buy.

My outfit looks incomplete without some sweet designer jeans.

How long do we have to wait?

This is total bullshit

I like the timed nature of Salmon Run, it makes it feel like it's something special.

That being said; I wish they would create another mode and sub that in when Salmon run is down. I'm going to get burned out playing competitive mode.

Maybe Salmon Run is time-limited to help concentrate player counts when it's available, so that four-player squads fill out quickly.

They must feel confidant that Turf Wars/Ranked will always have adequate players, but maybe they didn't have the same faith in Salmon Run?

I'm enjoying the game, but I can't say I really like the overall gearing system that much tbh.

If I'm not swapping gear after "maxing" a piece of clothing it feels like I'm wasting experience after a match. That means having to buy extra clothes you may not really want so you have more stuff to level up and swapping to a piece of gear with bonuses you might not want to use. The cost to scrub ability chunks is super expensive considering you need 10 chunks just for 1 sub ability and getting the sub abilities that you want to scrub when your clothing levels up is luck based. Makes it difficult to experiment with various builds because of the big time and in-game currency investment. I mean I could ignore all the stat stuff and just wear whatever, but the bonuses aren't insignificant.

Idk, it just feels too grindy.

Mr Grizz is clearly a big fat grizzly bear, who's only purpose in life is to eat as many salmon eggs as possible. Please give him time to finish his meal. GrizzCo will reopen shortly.

Played with a Switch at Saturn and the joy cons felt really cheap and clunky and now i didnt take one with me. Will wait for 300 with a game :( no Splatoon 2 for me for now *sigh*

It's like every other day. You can check the schedule by clicking X in the city square. I agree it's total crap.

WTF today is nothing?
Is this some kind of joke?

The best mode is locked behind timed bullshit. Holy crap, Nintendo is completely nuts.

I...I really have no words for this. I'm not sure if I even want to play anymore.
This is the best and most fun mode and I'm not allowed to play it though I paid full price for this game.

Wow, just wow.

Yesterday's Salmon Run slaughtered me. I think we won once but lost every other time. I went down two rankings!!

Need better teammates

Same thing was happening to me until I grouped up with a friend then it's been smooth sailing ever since.

But
once the hovering ufo fish show up it's over :/

OK does anyone know for sure what I should do?

Murch has two items:

Hat I requested from a player, Murch says I have til "end of the day"

Shoes I requested from SplatNet

Which do I pick up first? Will my SplatNet order expire?

That probably is coming down the line with updates...

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan I really hate Ranked Modes, and I hate that all the other modes but Turf War are locked behind it, as well as the only easy way to play with your friends on a team.

I mean, I know the ranking and fake points mean nothing in the grand scope of my life, but I rage and fume so hard when losing them. And I honestly don't get mad over anything in life except that (in any game's rank modes, not just Splatoon) so I avoid them like the plague. I wish the game just didn't take points away when losing, it would solve my sole issue. :(

I'm headed to Japan in September. Should I save the single player mode of this game for my flight? I'll also have Rabbids and Sonic Mania to play, so I should be good buuuuutttttt........

Also, Nintendo really needs to do something to punish AFK players. They're hands down the worst part about this game.

As far as I can tell, splat net orders do not expire unless you order something else from splat net. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

you can report them in the app.
tap on the game they were AFK in, select the username and at the bottom tap "report" they even have an "inactive" option.

you're right :) they don't expire. I ordered something last evening and bought it 12 hours later this morning.

Calm down it's just videogames

Salmon run should be daily with weapon and map swaps every 24 hours, it's the most annoying thing with splatoon is how everything is time locked for no reason, I can deal with map rotation being every two hours but locking away modes is just ugh.

Been playing with joycon and just switched to Pro Controller last night. It made a huge difference.

Mainly on the shooting R button. Way easier to press on pro. The gyro works amazingly as well, surprised me.

I was hands down murdering a round, over 1000p and over 10 kills, making my way up to the other teams base on moray towers. When I saw we lost I was like wtf but then of course on the results screen 2 players were AFK at the same time. Wasn't ranked though so it's just a shrug but it can be frustrating.

In a side note, what do the dry, raw ratings mean and what effect do they have?

I'm in love with Salmon Run and I want to add people who will run it with me while using Discord or Skype.

Also is there a way to do a 180 quick turn?

The controls are taking me a while to get used to as well, who knew I'd miss the bulky Wii U gamepad so much. At the end of every match I look down expecting to see the map, haha. Split joy cons have a lot of freedom, but I find my aim isn't as steady. Grip is surprisingly good, but it's just so LIGHT. Think I'll be ordering a Pro controller tbh.

There was definitely something about the bulk, width and lightness of the gamepad that made it feel great for splatoon aiming. I'm thinking of getting a pro controller too but worry that it's too compact, and that the width of the gamepad was the factor that made small aim adjustments work just right.

I think I like using the pro controller more than the Wii U gamepad.

You can say that about any criticism. I don't like this attitude.

"Microtransactions? Calm down, just a videogame"

This is total bullshit by Nintendo and I don't understand anyone who defends this.

It's not so much that you had a problem with it but that you expressed it in such a venomous tone. Just seemed really uncouth.

I think it's time because of the rewards. I made most of my money on Salmon Run and got several tickets.
