Not a losing streak, but you've been losing games within your rank. Once it breaks you go down a rank.

I'm still stuck in C- for rainmaker because i just can't for the love of god get teammates who don't sit back with the rainmaker the whole match.

Throw a splat or suction bomb at them, they'll either die or be forced to escape which will keep them from spamming more curling bombs for a while, allowing you to get in on them.

I...I think I get the Charger now. I'm a guy who is all about mobility in Splatoon, but the Charger was so stuck in my head as "sniper rifle" that I just was getting frustrated because it doesn't play like you'd play in another shooter. But using my shots for very fast battlefield mobility finally clicked

Yeah, not moving will get you splatted no matter what weapon you're playing. Sniping sessions shouldn't last too long (though getting good at not missing helps with that anyway), and swimming back for just enough distance to pick off a guy who got close is vital.

picked this up today and I'm enjoying it (played 10 Turf Wars...won 5 and lost 5)
have a few questions though...
For Single Player how do you get other weapons to use? I see the spot for other weapons in the Records page but don't know how to get them.
And are the upgrades you can get for your weapons and such in that mode just for that mode only?
For Salmon Run since there's none going on right now that means it's closed for even doing the tutorials right? And do you have to be a certain Level for it to open once it's started again?

Each weapon has their own freshness rank.
There is not. The winstreaks are now a freshness meter that is on a per weapon basis; every 5 points you get on your freshness meter nets you big bonus points. No need to talk to Judd.
Clothes by Krak-On should have a higher chance of rolling swim speed up. There's a drink you can get from Sean's food truck which should also increase your chances of getting swim speed up, but I haven't gotten many food truck tix in the first place, so I wouldn't know where to get them.
In single player, you will get hero weapons as you continue the storyline. At certain points you will be requested to complete a mission for the first time with a particular weapon.
Upgrades you get in hero mode only stay in hero mode.
I think it requires being level 4 at least? And yeah, there's a tutorial for Salmon Run, but it's pretty quick.
That's the single player levels. You'll see grates which you can ink, once inked you can go into the stages.

If you're talking about hero mode, the entrances to the levels are hidden until you ink them. Once you ink them completely, they'll uncloak and you will be able to jump into them. At worst, you can basically try painting the entire platform to see if you can uncover all of them, but the entrances usually have obvious tells for where they are (plus they give off a weird kettle shaped visual distortion).

Did we vent about salmon run only being available every 2 days or so? Just checked the schedule and the next one is in 12 hourssss I really wanted to come home to play salmon run today... Next one on schedule is right in smack of my work schedule jesus
Wait what? Sean offers drinks? Completely missed that only saw the money/exp stuff. Also, yea - I've been looking for Krak-On stuff at the shops but haven't been getting like any and I'm lvl 17 ;\ I guess if I find like a 1-2 star Krak-On gear I can just keep resetting the slots and trying again for Swim Speed?
My guess is that it's Nintendo's lame way to push population to the other playlists so they don't ever lack population.

Oh I see lol I didn't know I needed to ink them I thought I had to unlock them in some way. welp time to go do that I guess. Still not able to do multiplayer tho I can't click the buttons at all it'll just act like it's doing it and do nothing.

I wish idiots would stop picking up the Rainmaker. FFFFFFFFFF. Always going the wrong direction and then getting stuck in a corner when they realize they weren't supposed to go that way.
All I've seen on this is that it's doable in salmon run and league. I'm sure somebody can comment further as Ive not reached ranked or league yet.
Have the devs commented on this aspect? It seems like a massive oversight or a cruel decision :-/ my friend and I stopped playing turf war because we ended up against each other > 50 % of our matches.

Has anyone figured out a useful way to use the Sting Ray special? Is it best to poke at people through walls or attempt to ink space far away from you? Do you squirt, stop, squirt, stop, squirt or just shoot one long jet? 😉
Think I like the format of 2 hour blocks for stages and events. Not getting a whole lot of time to play at, it is nice playing the same map a few times in an hour, helps teach the map and see improvement every session. Yeah, people that play all the time will know the map better, but you will see a few different paths in that time and can choose the one that is best.
Really like the curling bombs for Rainmaker, helps make quick work of the tight corridors going to the end. Tend to just strafe with them and get as much area covered as possible, kills are nice but not mandatory.
Really seems to be just getting lucky with your teammates in the lower rankings. Sucks, because the best matches are with even teams when you're going back and fourth and the winner comes down to the wire.

You just lose a little bit of your ranking, it shouldn't empty, but will take like an 1/8th of the bar.

Teammate had the rainmaker at the enemy base but didn't know where to take it, we get wiped out and proceeded to lose the entire game. What a fucking time to be alive

Are disconnects a common thing with people? This is my first night playing online and I've been getting so many. My wifi is fine and the splatfest was perfect so idk what is going on.

Rainmaker is easily the most rewarding mode to get to B- in. At least it runs the self-destruct countdown faster when you're going the wrong way.
